O yea. Think it's a onebyesr deal though, hope he doesn't do TOO well Lmao

It is 1yr but after that he is restricted FA, so we'll make a deal. Plus he would want to play for SB contender.

I would be cautious of giving a guy with his history major money. I could see maybe $24-30 mil but he would need major incentives on/off the field to protect himself and the team.

I very much agree with this. I don't want to see us give him a lot of money and then he turns back to inhaling second hand marijuana smoke. We'll see how he plays this year and possibly next before we assume he'll get paid. I doubt we give him a long term deal before he sees the field and before next season.

He'd be a RFA afterwards, so if he plays well he's ours.

I Hope Harbs and Peas dont fiddle-faddle and put the best players on the field.

Agreed.  And one of them will be Hill.

Ive never seen the dude play, is he worth all the hype???

The Hype might have gotten out of hand in the term that he hasn't played a single snap in purple but He was 100% forreal for the Giants. Dude can play.

He isn't hype because he was rated as the second best FS in the NFL last year by PFF! BTW have you watched his highlights from last year?? He plays lights out and is very exciting to watch!

Why you gotta hate on us History majors, man?

Anyway, having Will Hill should be great for our secondary.  I already think Terrence Brooks has been an unsung hero shoring up our back end, where you do NOT want Darian Stewart or Elam playing.  I think Will Hill is better close to the line of scrimmage than as a pure ballhawk; he doesn't strictly have amazing ball skills or hands, but he's a huge improvement over Stewart or Elam in coverage and instincts when playing deep.

I'm surprised they cleared up the roster spot by putting that d-lineman in IR. Doesn't that make 7 safeties on the 53 man roster now? Thats crazy even if we do only have 4 corners.

It's mostly because of the ST - all our safeties are very good there. Plus Ozzie might double-back and release one of them to add D-lineman (Big Cody).

I thought Will lived up to the hype today.  He had some good tackles, got some pressure, didn't get beat in coverage.  No major plays, but having Hill and Brooks deep is doing wonders for our back end.  Ryan didn't even try to go deep all game.

He had a nice TFL on a play that could have went for good yardage if he had missed. Nothing earth-shattering, but something very noteworthy, beyond just lumping it into the routine tackles category. He showed impressive speed on that play, getting to the ball carrier before the player flew by him.

Other than that, I definitely agree with you. He will pay huge dividends for us, IMO

I didn't see a whole lot of him (Game Pass issues in the first half didn't help), but I was happy enough with what I did see at first glance. He should improve over the next few weeks too - that'd be a nice thought with the Chargers beckoning and the Broncos up ahead for the AFCCG. :D

He was around the ball a lot. Think it was him that stopped Hester at the 10 yard line on one of those kickoffs. I remember him getting a big hit on Ryan in the beginning as well. Good day for him.

Is there a possiblity that we could see Will Hill play Strong safety alongside Brooks at FS?

It seems (myself included) we have all assumed that the safetys are being geared towards Hill FS and Elam SS, however the snap counts from yesterday indicate that Brooks role is increasing:

"Of the #Ravens' 66 defensive snaps, Terrence Brooks and Darian Stewart each played 44 snaps. Will Hill and Matt Elam played 22." @baltimoreluke

It looks like Hill is pretty useful at attacking the LOS in the run game, and along with his coverage skills could we see 2 safeties with good coverage skills? Contrast to weeks 1-3 where we basically had 2 SS's both of whom pass coverage isnt a strong point

I am not by any means suggesting Elam is done, but it is interesing that a rookie in Brooks was on the field twice as much as him yesterday

Since you're on the subject, how did Elam do yesterday? I couldn't watch the game so I'll watch tonight at 9p on the replay on NFL network. Just wondering
