I don't think it makes sense to not cut a safety to make room for Hill. We have, what, six safeties on the roster? Why on earth would we cut from anther position group to carry a seventh safety? We oughta cut one, probably Trawick or Miles, to make room for Hill.

If Miles would have turned around he could have easily had that one ball that hit his feet.  That INT alone probably would have saved his spot on the team for at least another week.  LOL.

Franks or Gradkowski should be the one cut.

Why has Gradkowski even been the one active on game days over Urschel?

Maybe, just maybe because: 1. He's the freaking back up center duh 2. He's not as green as Urschel and 3. Whether or not you realize it, he's much improved from last year, if you paid attention to him in preseason.

I get the Gradkowski hate, but he really isn't as bad as people are making him out to be. But of we need a token scapegoat it's better it were him than someone else.

As for Hill, one of the fringe safeties makes sense. Especially if the coaches back him to at least not be a liability.

Miles played extremely well yesterday.

Safety Will Hill (suspended) can practice with the team this week. Roster move not needed until Monday. He could play Sunday.

Scratches head****

He can play sunday, but no need for a roster change until monday?  So we can carry more than 53 players for a short period of time ?

No we can choose to activate him to play for Sunday, but if not, we have until Monday.  We applied for and were granted a week roster exemption for Hill.  He can practice with the team but it gives us the extra day to make a decision if we so choose.

Roster/salary cap stuff is one of those topics where the more you find out, the more confused you get by the sheer amount of stuff there is to know.

A lot of teams apply for and are granted it.  It gives the player some time to get back into practice without occupying a roster spot immediately.

I generally avoid that stuff for that exact reason.

Playoffs too.  If we are in we are in.  I dont pay it much mind until the end of December.

We'll get a look at him in practice to see if he's ready to go. Personally, I am hoping that he's on the field this Sunday.

Not saying that because I expect him to be an instant pro-bowler, but if the team suits him up, that will show that comments from the team about his working hard to be in game shape isn't just lip-service, but is a reality.

That will also show an attitude and commitment on his part ... which is going to be important for a guy that we all have heard has talent, but who has shown a periodic inability to make good decisions.

Hey, maybe having him back allows us to blitz more?

Lol. I had to make the joke.

Funny joke, but I think there is some truth to it.

I am not a Giants fan, but I can say that I am a Will Hill fan. The ravens have gold if he can stay clean. The Giants released him because he was suspended 3 times in 3 years, so they said goodbye. I think he needed that as a wake up call. Living in the NY/NJ area the only games that are on the tv each week are the Giants and Jets (painful isnt it?) Thank god for Redzone. But i got to watch him play most weeks. He should step right in and give the secondary a major boost. He doesn't have any weaknesses other than his addiction which he says he far behind him. On the field he is an animal. He is always around the ball and rarely makes mistakes. PFF rated him as the second best Safety in the NFL last year for a reason. Whether he plays this week or next week, I dont see him sitting in a reserve role for long, hes too good to not have on the field.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Mr. Hill can do.  I think he was using Adderall without league approval - not so much illicit drugs.  He clearly has a judgement problem and doesn't work within the system.  That's something that concerns me, but Ozzie and our lockeroom typically have a positive affect on "troubled" guys like Hill and helps them make the right moves on and off field.

No, it wasn't Adderall. I know it was for marijuana because there were comments about him stating that it was "second hand smoke" that caused him to pee hot. I mean, I don't know...

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/giants/2013/07/28/giants-will-hill/2593905/

Will Hill says the recent four-game suspension imposed on him by the NFL was for using marijuana last season.

He was also suspended for four games early last season for using a performance-enhancing drug, which he and the team said was Adderall.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-back-from-suspension-safety-will-hill-displayed-lot-of-energy-on-ravens-practice-field-20141015-story.html

But Hill, who told The Sun that he failed his drug test due to inhaling second-hand marijuana smoke, and his case fell into a grey area of the policy, which didn't cover six-game suspensions.

So he used Adderall once, but he's admittedly used marijuana once and this current suspension is due to the aforementioned second-hand inhalation of marijuana "fumes." Lol.

Excited to see this guy play for us.  Can't believe he's just 24 yrs old.  If he keeps his nose clean, lol, Ozzie landed yet another high impact free agent.
