Updated: Will Hill Reinstated & Activated

So when does Will hit the field? 7th game? No time off the suspension?

At this rate, we'll get him against the Falcons in week 7 and I think it's best to assume that's the case until a compelling reason to think otherwise emerges. Which hopefully leads to an easy adjustment as we'll have the Bengals the week after.

Weather he plays or not he is on a 1year deal. I hope we can keep him. Can't let talent like that walk off.

He'll be a restricted free agent next year so we can always offer a tender.

I gotta say..... Will Hills victory dance is hilarious!

I think it is one they did at the U when #52  was there.

Suggs did it in that Jags game we lost  out of the blue I think in 2011(?). I remember it was a Monday night game and the Sunday night game sucked, so I flipped to ESPN2 and the 30 for 30 special on the U was on so I watched that. After the loss it became clear that we underestimated the Jags for that game and the guys did the same thing as me and watched the special and focused on dance moves instead of the opponent and we lost due to overconfidence. I could be wrong but it has stuck with me ever since.  I only underestimated one team since and that was the Patriots last yea, I  thought we could not loose so I broke my only rule, never talk to my best friend during a Ravens Patriots game or the ravens lose. I broke the rule and we lost, never again,  not ever.

He is not even allowed to practice right?

If so, he wont be on the field week seven.

That's right - he's able to be at the facility for workouts and training, but is not able to participate in practices. Agreed - I don't think he hits the field until week 8.

The NFL isn't cutting the Ravens any slack considering everything that has happened since February.

Absolutely agreed. They're not remotely interested in trying to put-out a fire with more gasoline. Too bad. From all reasonable indications (according to the new policy) Will would be on the field Sunday. It's ok. He'll be in the lineup soon. He just got caught-up in the hoop-la. Collateral damage.

Only 4 guys got reduced suspensions compared to the 20 or so that were originally stated. This isn't a slight against the Ravens. They had some process, that we don't know, that Hill and 15 others didn't fit under.

Agreed. It's not just us. I think this hesitation to list all the players who would apply to this new policy most likely is an agreed upon process by the NFLPA and NFL. Possibly because of HIPPA player confidentially concerns, player announcement privacy clauses and/or team reinstatement prerogatives, there will not be an additional list posted until all those processes are played out. At this point, we most likely won't see Will until the current suspension is complete.

Maybe so.  But I'm betting that even if he met the qualifications that the other 4 made, him being a Raven would have prevented him from getting a reduced suspension.

This is not some conspiracy against the Ravens.

Agreed. Fans just like to convince themselves that the Ravens are being slighted because they have no explanation for why things aren't going the way they think they should.

Will Hill didn't meet the qualifications to be reinstated early. It is that simple. There's no reason to tell him or tell the public that, because he's already been suspended. No upside to call him or anybody and tell them "yes, you are still suspended". He knows how long his suspension lasts, and so does the team.

When its over, its over.

Does any one think its likely Will Hill will be on the field week seven?

No sir. If practicing, sure. But since he cant even suit up to practice, no way. Wouldnt be any worse than what Elams doing at FS, though.

Not week seven, but I do think week eight. Dean Pees has a bit of a man crush on Will.

Dont we all? Or is it that Elam blows at FS so bad and would excel as SS so much?

Honestly...we play the Falcons week 7 and if Hill is as good as everyone says and Webb is still out, I would not be suprised to see Hill back there against that high octane offense. I'd rather him get some time in Week 7 to be ready because the game we really need to win is week 8 at Cincinnati. I read on this thread hes been allowed to train and I assume that means he's been allowed to be in meetings as well (correct me if I'm wrong there)? If he's been in meetings and training, I'll give him that week of actual practice and I say put him out there. He can't be worse than the communication problems we have already and again if Webb is out, we could use all the talent we have against the Falcons

He's been able to work out and attend meetings at the facility, but not allowed to practice.  I'm not sure what his game conditioning will be like but he should hopefully have a firm grasp on the playbook at least being that he's been in meetings and has been able to speak to coaches.

I think once Hill serves out his suspension we will probably let him get his opportunity in practice but I agree with the consensus that he probably won't have much playing time just because he hasn't had much of an opportunity to get the playbook down

Just because he can't practice doesn't mean he hasn't been studying the playbook or working out.  Midseason practices are like walk throughs anyway, I think he should see snaps immediately.  Maybe not start but def on the field week 7.

Pees said that Thrill Hill was very smart and a student of the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the field getting some snaps in against ATL. Knock of that game rust and be ready to go full time against Cincy.
