CJ Freakin' Mosley

349 posts in this topic

I'm a longtime Alabama fan, and guys, let me tell you--even in his freshman year it was obvious that CJ was on another level--and I watched Cornelius Bennett and Derrick Thomas play in person. Great instincts, a motor that won't quit, and quckness that just seems wrong in someone his size. He really has the potential to be something special for you guys.

Very smart player who does not look like a rookie. Also has some really nice upside, hopefully he can continue to play well

He's what Rolando McClain should have been. Well he looks a lot faster than Rolando ever did

It's been a while since we drafted a player this good. He is everywhere and knows what he wants to do every second of the game. In only his 2nd pro game. This young Ravens D that's taking shape in front of our eyes is the most exciting thing for me:

Jernigan, Williams, Tyson

McPhee, Mosley, Brown, Upshaw

Elam, Brooks

Smith

Hopefuly Urban and KLM can get healthy and there won't be too many pieces left to complete the Ozzie's puzzle.

He's on pace for 130 tackles this season, which is extremely good

And to think people freaked out when he was draft, when i had him at our spot in one of my mocks people jumped all over me and said there was 0% chance of that happened and criticized every single thing about him. You people still regretting that pick? He's been arguable the most impressive rookie so far, i don't know anyone off the top of my head thats played better than him, hopefully he can keep it up

Mosley has looked as good as I thought he would be in the NFL. I really wanted him in 2013 and hoped he would come out and when he didn't I was a but saddened. I'm really happy to have him here.

What about Arthur freakin Brown? It bothers me to see a talented second rounder rot on the inactive list each week..

He's just not very good on special teams.  Same as Paul Kruger his first year.  If Daryl Smith got injured Brown would step in and play and play well.

Doesn't make sense.. how bad can a second rounder be on ST's to be inactive? I dont recall hearing about this somehow he went into the doghouse

Can someone explain why CJ wasn't credited with the FF?

I watched it multiple times from different angles and Mosley's hit clearly jars the ball loose. That's an error by the statistician, of course it won't get changed and that kinda ticks me off. We all know Mosley made that fumble happen but when it comes time to vote for DROY people look at stat lines and he won't have that FF which could be huge. The FF's is a big reason Sizzle got DPOY in 2011. I just sent an email to the NFL to verify and correct that stat, probably won't help but it can't hurt either.

I noticed one play and I can't remember when in the game it was but I think it was a 3rd down. The D was lined up and Ben made a call all of a sudden CJ jumped up screamed at Smith then yelled at the ready of the D pointing at the Rb and also the left side of the defence. Him and Jerrigan made the stop for minimal gain.

Seeing that play made me proud that he will be patrolling the middle of our D for years to come.

It looked like he forced it to me as well. Something that is also overlooked is that he got his knees off the ground before he picked up the fumble, meaning he could return it. Out of a rookie playing his 2nd game.... That's ridiculous!!!!! That alone REALLY impressed me, as well as his play throughout the rest of the game. I originally wasn't thrilled with the pick, just because I wanted other players, but I knew he was a BEAST. Hope he keeps it up!!!!! ROLL RAVENS!!!!!!!! Lol!!!!!!

Yeah, he clearly forced it lose. I think they actually scored it as a fumble on Miller which is BS.

Everyone was pissed about us taking an ILB, but I knew CJ would win the fans over once he got on the field.

Plus looks just like Waldo from Family Matters.

The play you're thinking about was the end around the steelers tried to run in the red zone on a 3rd and short late in the second quarter.

I knew Mosley was going to be a beast well before we drafted him.I also thought he would be gone by the time we picked. The only reasons I wasn't really excited about the pick at the time of the draft were because we already used a second rounder on an ILB the year before,I was tired of us using first rounders on defenders every year and I was on the Calvin Pryor bandwagon.I'm interested in seeing how this defense will look when Mosley really gets settled in and Webb and Hill return. And it feels wrong to talk about defensive talent without mentioning Williams so.... BRANDON WILLIAMS BRANDON WILLIAMS BRANDON WILLIAMS.

healthy season for mosley = DROY, and its as simple as that. by year 3 he will be the best ILB in the league by a mile, this guy is just made for this game and its obvious, beginning of his rookie season, and he is starting at ILB and just PLAYING, not thinking, not reacting, but playing, and making plays, a rare feat for a rookie at a position that requires so much thinking

Asa got concussed in that play. :( However, you could also see Bell try to give a half hearted shoulder block and Mosley was having none of it.

I think him and that guy in Carolina will be neck and neck for the best ilb in the league.

Slow down.. It's possible

But you still have

Bowman, kiko (if ever healthy) Sean Lee, kuechly

As already established young star LB's

I think Joey meant Rookie of the Year as I don't think they give a defensive and offensive award.

Yes and dizzle was referencing the "best ilb in the league" part.

He's a legit DROY candidate with Clowney now missing a few weeks. Just gotta stay healthy and keep this up.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say he's the best pro defender out of Alabama in some time. Thrilled to have his jersey number on the way.

I'd say he is the DROY frontrunner RN.

yep, my bad.   He has a ways to go to be at Kuechly's, etc. level.
