This isn't a team to be taken lightly, but Hoyer isn't exactly a great player or quarterback. As long as the Ravens can force some early incompletions, get some early hits or sacks, then this game should be a good one for the defense

But we gotta get pressure. Hopefully they remember the last time we played them at Cleveland....

The only defense I will give Haden is against the Saints it is EXTREMELY unfair to ask him to cover Jimmy Graham one-on-one.  He lost that battle every single time and most (if not all) CBs would too.  The first game against the Steelers he was indeed not playing well at all.

I've only seen one player stop Jimmy Graham and it was Aqib Talib, but that really opened up the rest of the Saints offense to not have the Pats' best corner covering a receiver. It's pick your poison with the Saints

It's tough because that offensive line is so impressive. They have two of the top players at their positions (Thomas and Mack), a really solid rookie left guard (Bitiono), a really solid right guard (Greco), and a serviceable right tackle in Schwartz. The Browns have some really good players in the trenches, especially on the offensive line

Agreed.  Phil Taylor may be hard to run on as well.

Ok I *thought* so but wasn't entirely 100% sure LOL.

Kudos to the Orioles too.  Obviously I'm a Tribe fan and would prefer they be heading to the playoffs but it's been a long time for the O's and good for them on making it.

Class act all the way! Thanks for getting , sorry I hit a nerve. Let's just play some football! Good luck to you!

Phil Taylor, Billy Winn, Athyba Rubin, and Desmond Bryant make it really tough to run on that front when they start using that rotation. Hell, even those linebackers are solid with the exception of Craig Robertson starting. If Hayden and Gilbert were actually playing well, the Browns defense would be top 5-7

I mean, Suggs has had his success against Thomas from time to time, but as a whole, the Ravens defense usually struggles against that offensive line

Hey all. Life long browns fan here dropping by to wish you well on Sunday and say hope it's a great game. I feel really good about the browns this year with Hoyer under center and West and Crowell in the backfield.

I'm not interested in trolling you guys I actually really like the ravens except two games a year. We both had a great win last week and are looking to keep it rolling. Interesting to see most of you giving the brownies a little bit of respect. I hope they live up to it.

I'm a little scared our defense isn't all its cracked up to be although we've had some great defensive plays. The offense has been surprisingly potent though even without Gordon and Cameron.

Nice to see some cool fans from divisional foes. Browns are no laughing matter and I don't really talk trash because when I do, the Ravens usually lose (no lie lol). May the best team win.

I have no idea when fans decided that Will Hill was even likely to play this weekend, but I think this talk needs to end. There is absolutely no indication whatsoever thus far that his suspension will even be reduced, let alone wiped away all together.

AND not to mention the fact that the guy hasn't practiced or worked out with the team in weeks. And last time I checked... guys just don't roll out of bed and start for professional football teams.

I'm honestly having trouble wrapping my head around why fans are even referencing Will Hill in regards to this Sunday's game.

I agree. Will hill hasn't even stepped onto the field yet. Until he shows us what he can do, his not replacing anyone.

It's been a rough road since '99 but I believe the browns organization is turning a corner from the top down. Randy Lerner had to have been the single worst owner in the NFL so I'm not surprised that everyone he hired just looked at it as an opportunity to steal money. I think Haslem, despite having his own faults, actually gives a crap about winning football games and it all trickles down from there. I don't expect a lot out of the Browns this year and I'm optimistic but not in denial about our chances Sunday. I hope we win but a Ravens win doesn't ruin my week like a Steelers win does. Great job kicking their smarmy asses Thursday btw. I was pleasantly surprised by your running game

I can't believe how snake-bit this team has been on the DL this year. Lewis-Moore, Urban and now Jernigan all injured. Granted, two of those guys are done for the year and one just has a meniscus tear, but damn man. That's ridiculous. Combine that with Ladariglass Webb and we have been having a rough time in the defense with staying healthy. Hopefully this is the turning of the page for us for injuries.

There's something special about this year for the Browns.  I can't really pin point it, but i can sense it.   Long as Browns are 0-2 against us, I can care less.  But GL to your organization.

I agree this will be the biggest test for Kubes commitment to the run game and also his creativity on getting the offense moving when his initial plan isn't working. I thought that even in though things weren't going well in the first half of the Bengals game, the offense basically got everything they wanted, it was just poor execution on the players that lead to a poor performance. However with the Browns I think running the ball will be tough early on and that is why I think the game will resemble the Bengals game in terms of plan.

Of course Joe isn't(hopefully) going to pass the ball 60 plus times, but I definitely think spreading them out will be the way to go early. Get that front 7 chasing to hopefully wear them down for late 3rd and 4th quarter to pound the run game.

I strongly feel if the Browns were in any other division in the AFC they would be a respectable and maybe even playoff team. But in the North they will forever be considered the little brothers until they can consistently split or sweep within the division. Staying true to that AFC North ball the Browns are smash mouth, physical and can be bullies. But right now the Ravens, Bengals and Steelers just know how to find ways to win better then the Browns.

I thought last year you guys put people on notice as a respectable team and with Gordon I think you guys are more then respectable. I actually picked the Browns to finish 3rd in the North ahead of the Steelers this year so was kind of disappointed in the loss week 1.

I really like the way the team is shaping up with Hoyer, if Manzel ever has to play, I think you're in trouble. I think this will be a tough game as always, but i'm not sure the Browns are ready to take the step just yet. Believe me I remember last year, but I don't think that Ravens team was something you come to expect from the Ravens. I just feel this year the team is much more fundamentally sound and discipline. Also I've notice the Ravens defense seem to struggle adjusting to speed right now and I don't see much of that with your offense. More powerful and balanced then speedy imo. Would you agree?

I think coming off the close loss to Pit, the win against NO and the fact that you guys are home will have the Browns flying high. Add that to the fact that you guys have ties to the Ravens throughout your roster and coaching staff, I can really see the Browns jacked up for this game. It's an opportunity for them to prove they belong among the big boys of the division. We'll see.

Well we have the ability to be speedy. We laid 27 unanswered points on the steelers in the second half of that game by running a no huddle offense and Hoyer was able to drive 85 yards in a two minute drill for the win last week. It certainly hurts to be without Gordon who is our legit field stretching wide receiver but a bunch of guys are stepping up and doing well. Gabriel and Hawkins look to be huge upgrades over little and bess. They're able to catch so that's a good start, right? West and Crowell are looking dynamic put of the backfield. Time will tell. Our backup tight ends who are starting are not stars by any means but are doing well. The o line is pretty damn good this year, giving Hoyer a lot of time. Hoyer himself is never going to be an elite quarterback but he's clutch when we need him to be clutch. He keeps a cool head and makes good decisions and isn't a turnover machine. As for Manziel...well...I hope he pans out but I have some concerns. It's in his and the organization's best interest if he sits and learns Hoyer's work ethic and hopefully he picks up a bit about how to keep a cool head.

As for being the little brother I excuse them to some degree. Despite being the second oldest name in the AFC north in reality they're the newest team and as I've said before have suffered from inept and uncaring ownership. I've envied Biscotti and his commitment to winning. I think Haslem can and will change that. As far as I'm concerned the new era starts this year. Last year we were saddled with the league recommended banner and Lombardi who are chumps. This year Haslem has asserted his authority and I believe the culture change we've been dying to see has started. Next year we'll roll out the new unis. New ownership new management new look new philosophy. We have nowhere to go but up after all. I can't see a guy like jimmy being content to be on the bottom for long.

Hey I know this is a Ravens board but a fresh set of opinions can't hurt. What do you guys think of this "leaked" helmet design?

As a die hard, purple blooded Ravens fan the best and most honest thing I can say about the Browns, is that they scare me more than a little bit. That's respect.

Upset that jernigan is injured..hes looked really good..more snaps for brandon williams and deangelo then.

We really really could do well to have both WEBB and HILL at the back. Id be soo much more confident. Will HIll is awesome at man converage..he is a lockdown safety

Yea I think some folks here are overrating hill but many more are underrating him. We're talking about a guy who is only guilty of liking grass a little too much, but has shined on the field whenever called upon at every level. He graded out as a top 3 safety last year on an AWFUL defense. That's extensive live action at the NFL level with minimal support from his front 7...can't really debate that the guy has a better resume than anyone else on our roster at the safety position.

I get the feeling by the second matchup against the Browns, there will be a full blown Manziel package -- if he isn't starting completely. Just have that feeling by the way they are easing him into the game plan. Thoughts?

I think Hoyer is going to have to play a lot worse than he is (and the Browns will need to starting losing a lot of games) for Manziel to get anything more than Tebow-like package plays this season.

Manziel needs to spend at least 1-2 years watching somebody else run an offense, grasping the speed of the game (and the fact that every defense has several players faster than him), and most importantly, learning how to be more accurate from the pocket.

That's all ignoring the fact that there is no indication he is mature enough to run an NFL offense at this time.

I agree! It's just both weeks both coaches have said they "absolutely" expect to see him on the field and I don't really see the basis for it. He's done nothing to this point (he's had all of three snaps), yet they keep saying that. It just makes me wonder why they have said that. I agree though and I heard on the radio this morning (105.7) talking to a Cleveland beat writer he's got alot of growing to do in terms of learning to run an NFL offense. I suppose after this week we'll see what they may have in mind for him.
