Next up: Browns

I was shocked to see the Browns beat the Saints today. Looks like it won't be an easy game against them, but I think we can still win; hopefully they'll be overly-confident when we come in to face them.

In a way I'm happy with the Browns win. It won't hurt us bigger picture as I still don't think they have a realistic shot at the playoffs, but it means we've basically been put on notice for next week so we have to take them deathly seriously.

Yea definitely, No way can you go into the Browns stadium thinking they are a lesser opponent to either the Bengals or the Steelers. The Ravens have to take that same, this is war type mentality I should definitely be a fun game in Cleveland next week.

It's interesting for sure. We have had a history recently of letting teams who shouldn't beat us, beat us. It's incredibly frustrating. Hopefully we wouldn't let the Browns win either way, but this should at least apply some pressure to the team. I like how we respond to pressure so far. Let's hope it continues.

I don't see them being overly confident but they and the fans will be very hyped.

The Browns showed last year that they no longer respect or fear the Ravens as an superior team. Not saying they ever really did, but they were a lot more confident going into the first match up last year. They basically publicly said the Ravens aren't the same bullies anymore. I hope last year also served noticed to the Ravens in terms of knowing that the Browns are no longer pushovers.

The best thing about what I saw from Cleveland is that they weren't trying to turn their offense into a arena style offense like we saw from both the Bengals and Steelers against the Ravens. I think a smash mouth type of game really suits the Ravens defense in this game.

They have drafted some really good players on D. Plus pettine is doing an amazing job calling plays.

The Browns have a ton of talent at top positions, but then again a decade of top 10 picks should yield results like that. They are not the same old terrible Browns that we have gotten used to. They have built that team in the traditional AFC North mould of smash mouth football. As long as Josh Gordon is out and Hoyer is starting they don't worry me that much. But if Manziel continues to develop and begins starting, and Josh Gordon is back, I will be worried.

I really want to see Juice punch some holes in the goaline.  Both week1 &week2 he failed MISERABLY being a FULLBACK.

He needs to get his priority straight.   Do your #1 job first, then you can go catch some passes.  If he keeps up being pummeled in the 3rd down situation, we need to start looking for someone else to push that one hole for run goal situation.

I think is #1 priority is to play well at what he is doing. The FB is not Lorenzo Neal or Nosebleed anymore. But I'm with you, punch a hole when needed.

Cleveland seems to me is going to be the team that wins or loses some by a few points and things just won't go their way. They came up short against Pittsburgh losing by a FG, they win against the Saints by a FG. They have always played us tough in Cleveland, so this will be a hard game. Not this year, but give them another off-season, another draft, 2015 may be the year after saying "Next Year" since 1999.

The Ravens could have a huge opportunity early in this game to take the Browns and their fans out of it. You can never really say what will happen each Sunday, but I think the Browns will come into this game 0-2 after the Saints game today. If that indeed is the case, then the Browns and their fans could be in a desperate state. If the Ravens can start fast on both offense and defense with maybe like a 17-3 half time lead or something, we could be seeing the fans calling for Johnny really quickly. That is demoralizing to a team.

Even though most people didn't expect much from the Browns, it's still tough on a locker room to face a 0-3 start to a season. That could be a huge opportunity for the Ravens to get rid of the Browns early or if they allow the Browns to hang around, give them plenty of confidence. Should be a good game.

Wrong!  Browns 1-1 after beating the Saints today!  This is why our boys can't sleep on "ANY" team in the NFL imo.

I am glad Cleveland beat NO today.

Now people will realize this team is legit.

They COULD beat us.

I agree and I wish we didn't have to face Terrance West from Towson University. How'd we miss selecting him in the draft?

I'd rather have Terrence Brooks, but that's for a different forum.

I like West but I also really like Taliaferro and I was never very fond of the mileage Towson ran on West. He has a lot of miles on that odometer.

@Mili

What does anything in that post have to do with the Ravens sleeping on the Browns? I think it's evident every year that no team should be slept on, but amazingly it continues to happen. Teams like the Bills and Jags getting victories over the Ravens when it seemingly didn't make sense at all.

Also with the way last season went and the fact that there is so much youth and change this year, the Ravens can't afford to sleep on anyone. So I agree.

Just because we're already 1-1 in our division (should be 2-0 but shoulda coulda woulda), I feel that this is a must-win.

It would certainly be hard going 1-2 in the division as well, especially when we play both teams on the road back to back again

We've been bitten before, so prevaling caution around here is understandable. I feel that the Ravens just need to be confident, play their own game and we shouldn't have too many problems in Cleveland. If we contain Browns running game to bareable numbers, I can see us blowing them off the park.
