Talk about the Steelers game

265 posts in this topic

Any time you beat the Steelers, it is always a great win. Ravens played a near flawless game. A few concerns about not being able to punch it in while in the red zone, but a win is a win. My only negative comment is the same as last week, and that is Chykie Brown. Did anyone else happen to see how many tackles the guy could not make. If we do not get Webb back on the field real soon, Brown will lose more games for us. I know that Harbaugh speaks very highly of him, but man he is down right pathetic.

I had completely forgotten and the "Dickson should be motivated" comment just made me laugh.

Yeah I was about to say a lot depends on whether his hands get the memo.

His by far the worst lineman in the trenches, but for a 5th rounder 'rookie' starter, his doing a adequate job.

He just needs experience. I'm satisfied with what he has done, but its still not good enough to secure the right side.

I wouldn't say by far the worst because he's played extremely well, but even if he is the worst, just speaks volumes to the skill of the offensive line this year

Kudos to Ravens fans that attended the game!!!

Typically after a Ravens win against the Steelers, I can't help myself but scour the Steeler forums and news papers just to gloat over their misery! Here is one post that made me so proud to be a Baltimore Ravens fan. Read fan responses and enjoy. I couldn't cut and paste that exact quote for some reason, but in essence, this dad and his kid attended the game and he couldn't stop raving about how loud the fans were compared to the Steeler fans in Heinz field.... Anyway, this article was in response to the loss in Baltimore:

Assuming sarcasm here, that argument in the media is absurd to me. It reminds me of the win against NE in the 2012 playoffs. Sure they made mistakes. Why did they make mistakes? Because we broke them. As Mike Tyson used to say (paraphrase), "Everybody's got a gameplan until I punch them in the mouth." That's what happened in this game. The Upshaw and Stewart hits set the tone. Pittsburgh just did not belong on that field last night.

No question who was / is the better team at this point. But three turnovers and I don't know how penalties, those are stupid mistakes caused by nobody but themselves. Broken? It's a long season. Don't get too full of yourselves just yet.

I hear you but I just think that statement discounts the role the Ravens had in causing those mistakes. Miller and Brown didn't just drop the ball and neither was carrying the football recklessly (like Pierce last week), our guys made plays. Ben didn't just lob the ball to Haloti, the big man made a huge play that few lineman could make. The DPI was caused because the corner was beat, the facemasks on Smith are caused by his physical style of play...the list goes on. Yes they made mistakes. Some of them were unforced, but many were made because we caused them.

Like I said, no question who is the better team. But no body broke anybody's will to compete. The Steelers lost to the Ravens not the Seahawks

I am assuming this was the post you were referring to :

Paul Donohoe14 hours ago

"I went to the game with my son. The crowd was the difference. You had to be there to understand. It was the loudest game I have been to. Much louder than any Steeler game I've been to, and I have been to several home AFC Championship games. The section I was in stood the whole first half and screamed the whole time. The second half, they only sat and were not berserk during TV timeouts. I was 13 rows back from the Steelers bench. Not only could you not hear the person next to you, you felt it in your bones. My ears hurt. I feel the two teams were even. The crowd made the difference. Lets see if the Burgh fans can match the intensity. I doubt it. The Baltimore fans were just that jacked. My sense is Pittsburgh fans have gotten too soft and expect perfection. The 12th man showed up in Ravenville last night."

Proud of our fans, much better than the Cincy game. Ofcourse the Ravens gave us a lot to cheer about backed with a lot of emotions.

What happened to all the Steelers fans? Cant see the keyboard through all the tears?

Seriously? Cmon bro. You gotta be able to do better than that. Its week two, not the AFC championship, which neither team is gonna see this year.

Precisely... for some reason I wasn't able to copy and paste what you were able to do

Better than what, "bro"? Than imply that a couple of Steelers fans were here going on about how their boys were going to win a close game, and now there is no evidence of their presence?

Oh, by the way, since you seem to think you are quite the prognosticator, could you use you're crystal ball to give me the winning lottery numbers?

Steelers fan masquerading as a Ravens fan there. He's been defending the Steelers and discounting the Ravens since the game. Wonder what his prediction was? 30-3 Steelers no doubt lol. But suddenly they're terrible and we should've shut them out. The fact that we didn't shows we're an awful team.

At least he is right about one thing. They are terrible.

I'm more amused by the disappearance of the "Ravens Fan" trolls. They'll be back after our next loss (hopefully that doesn't happen until next season :-D) but it's still funny.

Yeah, I just like to remind them. Even SteelersProphet is strangely absent. And he is one of the fairly reasonable ones. That crow can be pretty tough to eat.

Unfortunately you have to begrudgingly give them the 6 rings. That is quite and achievement and one no other team has accomplished. It might be old news, but it is still big. When we get our sixth ring, we will be pretty vocal about it too.

Yeah, but they're all spread out. I think the 1st was during the War of 1812. lol. In all seriousness, it took them 41 years in the league to win their 1st, which led to 4 in 6 years. Then they had a small dry spell of 26 years before they won their next.

True, it did take them a loooooong time, but there are a lot of other teams that are just as old that do not have six. Or even two. And our 1st was quite some time ago as well, but I am still very proud of it. So they can be proud of theirs, and we just have to accept it, and be honest and tip the hat to their (ancient) success. Of course, all that bling doesn't make them any harder to stomp in a game.

I believe it was the Blackfoot tribe that considered the quality of the man to be directly related to the quality of the enemy. If that is the case, I am cool with their success. makes us look better when we beat them.
