Talk about the Steelers game

I mean the likes of Daniels and Smith etc. You can either play football or you can't.

Definitely, man.

Glad to see some people get it.

+1 for you, man. Good post.

Le'Veon Bell is going to be such a pain now and in the future.

Great team win though.  That's what I like to see.  Not one player did anything glaringly wrong tonight.

I think the same.. He's such a patient runner.

For a guy in a contract year who is supposed to be our #1, this is very disappointing. a 35 yr old Steve Smith should not be getting open more often than a young Torrey with plenty of speed. Can't believe the guy cant get open at this point. if he isnt improved by now, he never will be. This is no longer a "cam cameron misusing him problem". this is simply a torrey problem.

I've been disappointed in him as well, but since we were protecting a lead for most of the game, we did a lot of short passing. Torrey was probably doubled deep down the field on most plays. Still, for weeks at a time he looks like he's "just a guy".

i'll have to go back and watch again, but from watching it live, it didn't look like he was limited in opportunities. He did have a PI in the endzone called which was nice but we have yet to see the catch and run that he flashed so many times in the past. Its almost as frustrating watching Joe Flacco as it is watching Torrey. would you agree?

It's frustrating watching Flacco because of Torrey. The Steelers don't have good cornerbacks and you had 1 catch all night. Torrey is invisible in the endzone and around the LOS. This is supposed to be our #1? I think Steve Smith is clearly the best WR on the roster.

I liked everything about the games except for the flags and the fact that Suggs and Ngata were almost non-existent.

IIRC they were getting doubled teamed a good amount of the time. Could be wrong tho

Is anyone actually watching the coverage on Torrey or are they just saying he's disappearing?

Does anyone here actually watch the all 22 to see how they go about dealing with him. If anyone does can they give a report cause if he's just not producing that doesn't make any damn sense unless he's just being used to open everything up underneath.

Actually just got home and couldn't watch much but the last 4-5 minutes of the game, but with only 6 points allowed I'm guessing Pees called a great game?

More offense controled the game then defense holding Pitt

Defense was bend not break some drives and caused a few turnovers. Lot of work to be done on d

I am thrilled.

We NEEDED this win.

Offense looked fantastic.

I didn't have my hopes high but being wrong can be cool sometimes.

I haven't watched all 22, but when he's in view, you can see he just isn't creating separation. His route running is still subpar and defenders can mirror him easily. He has the speed obviously but rounding corners on cuts as much as he does won't get you open.

Rounding corners is biggest thing I see... Fast runner but bad footwork

Torrey's disappointing, and our defense would have allowed more points if we didn't force turnovers, but hey, we did so we didn't.

Great team win. Flacco was accurate and efficient. Backs got downhill fast and hard. Corners look good, yes, even Chykie. Elam is turning on, and Darian Stewart can hit.

Oh yeah, Mosley is incredible for a rookie

On the defensive side, a lot of missed tackles, but I think Elam and Jimmy were solid tacklers and the ILBs did a good job in coverage. Tyson and Jernigan both looked good in limited time. Mosley had a great game all-around.

Joe and Torrey have never, at any point had chemistry whatsover. Both guys just can't adjust to each other. We have to choose to pay Jimmy Smith before Torrey (a no brainer decision) and we have to eat Rice's cap right away which might complicate our flexibility to pay both players. I hope he proves me wrong and produces starting next week because hes such a tremendous person and i want to succeed but i just dont see it happening.

Sad, but Torreys production is replaceable.

Gotta give Props to the O Line. These guys Dominated in the trenches and created huge holes and running lanes, and kept Joe upright. As a result we could do almost anything we wantrd, and the backs had a huge day.

I still would like to see Taliaferro on short yardage and goal line situations, but the Oline did a complete turnaround from last year.

Way to go guys!

I missed some of the game because I was at Boy Scouts with my son. Did we suffer any injuries to be concerned about?

We'll make him an offer but if he's looking for the big bucks, it probably won't be here.

Asa left with a concussion, but that looks to be it.

I hope it's more of a "and we haven't even opened up Torrey" than a "it looks like we're not getting much out of Torrey".

Thank you, I hope he is ok for next week because with Webb out we certainly need him.

I really hope we can keep Torrey. There are times where he looks fantastic, and then there are times where he just is a decoy. I had such high hopes for him. I love his attitude. He's a great guy and he's a guy I genuinely like. I don't want to overpay for him, though. I also don't think we'll be that affected by Rice's hit next year as others do. Yes, we're gaining 4M this year and we're losing 9.5M next year, which if we don't spend the 4M that's a surplus onto the 9.5 dead money leaving us with 5.5M. Then, when you account for potential releases (Such as Canty, who will free up 2.66M) and if we extend Jimmy Smith and reduce his cap hit for 2015, we could save some of his 6.88M base salary. That would essentially wipe out of the difference of Rice's dead money. If you just release Canty, carry over Rice's surplus from this year, and reduce Jimmy's 2015 salary down to 4.04M then you've saved all of Rice's dead money and you break even. That's not even including the additional money we have from this year as well.

I think the cap crisis from the dead money is far overblown and not nearly as crippling as it is made out to be. But, I do hope Torrey plays better in Cleveland. I want him to earn that money. I'd really like to see him here long-term.

Honestly, the thing about the red-zone offense and it's inability to put the football into the end-zone on the ground, tonight, is that the answer to fixing that problem is already on the roster. While Bernard Pierce nor Justin Forsett are good goal-line 'backs, the Ravens just need to give Lorenzo Taliaferro some playing time. "Baby Jamal" will be pounding the football into the end-zone in no time.

No kidding. I was baffled that Taliaferro isn't running those into the endzone. It's almost like we're afraid that because he runs a bit too upright he might fumble or something at the goal line and turn it over. That's my only guess. I don't know why you wouldn't want a pass-protecting RB in the backfield when you're at the goal line, especially when he can keep your QB clean on pass plays and run the rock hard on the run plays for those short yards.

I see your point but do you think the rest of the league sees us as a "one trick pony" for obvious reasons I do not have to tell you. I think that as Joe grows into the position and utilizes his check downs more (TE's) Torrey will have more chances to show the talent he has? It just seems to me that other teams think if you shut Torrey down you shut the Ravens down. I feel we are more of a victim of poor game planning than one man not catching passes. Decoys are valuable weapons too, but than you may be right, just a thought.
