Kevin Byrne, Steve Bischotti, John Harbaugh, Dick Cass

I am calling you out.

You worthless pieces of [crap]! It's pretty sad that I am a huge fan of Byrne and his Friday articles and look forward to them each week.  I am shamed today to be called a Ravens fan. You knew about this all this time and you simply condoned an act like this?

What's wrong with you? Would you be calm if someone did the same to your daughter?

The lack of *any* action by the Ravens is baffling. Byrne, you are just another hypocrite doing his PR job just like a criminal lawyer does his. Have some integrity.

Nicely said. I couldn't agree more.

I cannot cheer for him. One mistake, yes. BUT an inexcusable mistake!

thats the thing... the first smack/hit was possible forgivable... the second? No so much. I was hoping that this was a reactionary smack or push or something to that extent..but that wasnt the case.

Beyond the domestic violence issue,Rice could have killed her with that left hook.

It was an open handed slap not a haymaker, but horrible and inexcusable none the less.

Given the leniency shown by the DA and the league, I thought for sure they had some video evidence that none of us saw, which would downplay the severity of the act that led to her being rendered unconscious. I felt that, with the potential for a high-level of intoxication, that the act which rendered her unconscious could have been a much less violent act than what we witnessed on this tape.

This video had to be available to them at the time they made their rulings. Did they really see this and rule the way they did? That is hard to believe. The Ravens would have likely been privy to this video as well. So now that this is public, what can they do? Any punitive measure they take now will be clearly taken, not based on doing what's right, but based on public pressure.

While I can't say exactly what action needs to be taken, the team has to do something more. There is no way that the "standing behind your player" line will cut it after we've now seen this.

Ray needs to ride that bench all year. Then join a new team next year.

Those saying they didn't need to see the video, they just 'knew it all along' stop. Avoid jury duty at all costs.

I loved and supported Ray Rice as much as the next guy, but please tell me a situation in which knocking her out was going to be anything but disgusting?

Thast the problem with the court of public opinion.

But she and your child(ren) would have your money.

I don't think he should be cut either.  But I do believe the organization needs to extend the suspension.

As for my wife.  Maybe I have a rare one that is very self-sufficient.

DO you have a 20 karat Kobe Bryant diamond ring to give her after you knocked her out?

Exactly my point.

I'm fine with the first, it was reactionary and incidental, just a losing your cool "oh you hit me, here", but you don't just deck the women for coming at you. He could have easily have held her back or detained her if necessary.

I really could not tell and watched it twice. It happened really fast. I'll have to watch it again.

It's very disgusting. Did it seem like I enjoyed seeing?

Agreed.. That's why if his tweets are true and ravens hadn't seen video, makes situation very interesting

Yea it does happen really fast, I watched and rewatched. After seeing it slowed down, you can tell that it was open handed, not that it makes it okay. She still could have hurt her head on the fall. Very disappointing.

You're both correct. It was a slap, but very hard as it caught her as she rushed at him, and her head struck that railing with significant force. It could have killed her.

this is bad....the cover up was she attacked him.

but lets not treat him different than if he knocked-out a man. Lets not accept harsh punishment because a woman is involved.  let it be harsh cause a person was involved...think the same outrage should happen in a man was involved.

I said in a previous post, the team had to be privy to the video, but according to La Conforta, They were not. However, the act was described by Ray and not "sugar coated".

That may be ... and I think what is shows is that pictures speak WAY louder than words. I still think the team is going to have to take measures beyond what the league imposed.

Disgusting...Had hoped it was all behind us.

When you actually see it happen, everything changes. I don't think anyone in the league saw the video before today. They couldn't have.

With the second sentence, you made it seem like the people that crucified Ray Rice before seeing the footage were wrong. Maybe I read it wrong.

They are both lucky noone got killed. Remember the movie HE GOT GAME? Denzel's character slaps his wife ,

her head hits something and she is killed. He goes to prison for manslaughter.

Me too, I really have a hard time believing that anyone has seen this video prior to today.... If they have seen the video, the response from the Ravens and the NFL is a joke. I would love to see an unedited video just for the sake of seeing it. I have some background in this area and ive seen some pretty sheisty things happen in an editing room .

Yes they can, H8R, I agree with you on that point.   It appears in the TMZ video, it starts at normal speed, then gets jumpy, and goes to slow motion, and you can hear two blurbs of audio that clearly prove the video was spliced at those two points, then they revert to normal speed towards the end with some more splicing towards the end that clearly can be seen in the tape discrepencies.  I am just saying that TMZ as they do in most of their work have agendas.  I've watched at least five versions of this "elevator tape" and they are all different.  It would be nice to see the unedited, original version from the casino, that was shown to Ravens and NFL officials.  Because obviously the judicial system in NJ, the Ravens Organization and the NFL saw something slightly different.  If Ray is going to be judged by the tape, at least get the tape that shows the original (unedited) version.

Opinion time:

What should the team do? Its a business still, but something, outside league punishment, needs to be done. If not just for a PR move.

Sit him the entire year!

Right, she went down hard, and her head could very well have hit something hard enough to cause serious injury or yea possibly even death. Sad.

I hear it being said that the Ravens had not seen this video. But the DA and the league didn't see it either? I just don't understand how that could be. This is a camera in the elevator of the hotel, not some private party filming some event that surfaces well after the fact. All parties would have known this video was available and would have requested it as a part of their rulings.

That is why I think most of us had to assume that there was video footage that all parties reviewed as a part of their ruling that was not made public. They had to have had it all along ... it just wasn't available to TMZ.

I think the ravens have to suspend him even longer now that the NFL is stating they did not see the whole tape when making their decision.  Ravens should get in front of this and make a decision before the NFL.

The way this is blowing up they have to do something

Honestly a first time situation in league history I believe..

Suspension already handed down and new evidence released that completely condemns player
