Week 2 Discussion (Other Teams)

286 posts in this topic

Week one saw some interesting games, and some upsets as well. Not too sure what happened to the Jaguars but they forgot to show up in the second half, Whiz seems to have made a difference for Jake Locker. Panthers can win without Cam Newton, Cowboys look more than terrible. Last but not least the entire AFC East is 1-0 EXCEPT the New England Patriots. What will week 2 bring?

Dolphins @ Bills: What a week for the Bills organization. A huge stunning upset over the Bears in week one followed by Buffalo Sabres Owner Terry Pegula being the one to buy and keep the Bills in Buffalo. Now they welcome in a 1-0 Dolphins team who beat the Patriots, and a win by either can help their case in the Division race.

Patriots @ Vikings: A case of the Rams being really bad made the Vikings look good in a dominating victory but can they pull it off against the Patriots? The Brady Bunch will be looking for revenge after losing to the Dolphins.

Cowboys @ Titans: Will Jake Locker out play Tony Romo after outplaying Alex Smith? Chances are yes as that Cowboys defense is horrible. Will the Titans turn it around and can Jake Locker remain healthy?

Lions @ Panthers: Cam Newton should be back but man do the Lions look really good or are the Giants just that bad? Stafford and co will get a test playing that Panthers defense.

Seahawks @ Chargers: Will be an interesting game but there is already talk of the Seahawks going 16-0 and the Chargers offense struggled against a good Cardinals D, so don't expect much from Rivers against a great defense like Seattle.

AFC North:

Saints @ Browns: The Browns come home following an almost upset by taking the Steelers to OT. The Saints are coming off a loss to the Falcons who happen to play another AFC North team this week.

Falcons @ Bengals: Bengals also come home following a big victory over us. Matt Ryan set a team passing record of 448 yards last week but a stingy Bengals D may be able to contain him.

Second of all, I am rooting hard for Vikings, hope they don't choke but I somehow can't see NE going 0-2. Looking forward to the Bengals - Atlanta game, might be interesting.

Not really the place for this but I was thinking about this earlier.

Brady's getting up there in age but he hasn't lost "it" yet. All he's lost the past year has been his typical stellar offensive lines, which lost the running game, which in turn damaged the entire offense. Also doesn't have many weapons to throw to... No one wants to blame Brady for the Patriots struggles, but the same people were so quick to blame Joe for the Ravens last year despite very similar circumstances. I'm not comparing the two individually, but I think it's a good example as to why the great QB's also need great things around them.

However I think NE will get it together on defense and a just good enough offense (if Gronk stays heathy) to carry them to a 1 or 2 seed.

I will be watching the saints browns game because i no longer have nil sunday ticket so I can't choose it's the game playing here, and also it will give me a chance to see what we're up against next weekend. Obviously I'm hoping for a loss by both divisional foes as it would give us a three way first place tie in the division ( I know it's early but still.....). I see it hard for the browns to beat an angry Drew Brees as a loss would take them out of the running for super bowl contenders.

I would love to see the Falcons Benglas game because both offenses are potent and should be a theoretical shootout unless cincy's defense plays to its potential and matt ryan's pockets collapse early and often.

And that Cam Newton video annoys me, I mean he could just say his focus is on the lions period and not repeat that dumb line countless times. Speaking of the Lions, I hope they win because they are my NFC team only because I respect Jim Caldwell, who although he struggled calling plays for us last year, he made the right ones that gave us the lombardi trophy, so I have profound respect for him and wish his team the best.

My choice for the week is Browns vs Saints. I want to keep an eye on Brandin Cooks (fantasy reasons) and get a better look at next week's opponents. I think the Saints will struggle to a win there, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Browns upset - let them be the ones coming off an emotional win.

Bills v Dolphins could be fun to keep an eye on. Come on the Bills!

I can't safely pick the vikings to win over a mad new england without Adrian Peterson. I expect a fight but a win for the pats.

Panthers do the right thing and make Greg Hardy inactive today.

Also, Carson Palmer, Jordan Cameron and Barkevious Mingo are inactive with shoulder injuries.

Vontaze Burfict is active after being cleared from his concussion.

Bengals DT Devon Still is active after being called up from the practice squad.  The selling of his jersey over the last week has raised thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer.

It will be nice to actually watch other games this week since the Ravens have already played.

Definitely my favorite part about Thursday games.

I was looking forward to watching some other games since Baltimore already played. So what's my lineup?

Redskins vs Jax .... and nothing else.

Keep me posted on Atl/Cincy, please.

Edit: There goes R G's knee.

Anyone watching the browns.

Up 7-0 on NO?

I know! What do they think they're doing? People are going to start believe they're an actual NFL team at this rate.

Feel bad for RG3.  Not only did he go down with an injury.  But while he's down he has to hear the crowd cheer over a TD that Cousins just threw.

Skin's Griff down again. Lookes ugly. Another mobile QB swallowed up by the NFL. You're not in college anymore, Toto!

He's probably used to it by now. It's not exactly his first rodeo.

The 'Skins are dropping like flies.

I was surprised to find out the Redskins scored a TD. Then I found out it was Cousins and I was like "oh, that explains it".

How is Cousins looking?

Like the Redskins are going to have a tough choice when RGIII returns. He probably just threw his second td (pending review).
