Arthur Brown Trade Rumors

458 posts in this topic

For anyone who thinks the Ravens ever or will ever consider trading Brown. Linebacking corps around the league have been hit especially hard this year. The lasted is Ellerbe going down in Miami. Its natural for other teams to call the Ravens and ask about Brown. All Ozzie is doing is taking the phone call before politely saying "thanks but no thanks".

But you never know. A team could want him badly enough to where they offer what Ozzie can't refuse. I don't think he will be traded but you never know what will happen. It's a business.

Honestly this would be a mistake I couldn't really forgive them for. This defense is darn close, i mean really really close to being nasty. We are on our way to being a 49er like defense. Mosley our form of Willis, Arthur Brown has a very comparable skill set to Bowman. Our secondary is good enough with a play-maker back there in Elam. Our team has gone from farming linebackers to farming defensive lineman, and they have done a great job of that.

Trading Brown would set us back another 2-3 years. I hope we don't make a knee jerk move like this.

If someone offered a #1 pick I think Ozzie would consider it especially if he thinks the team has a chance to be average or worse this year. Other than that there is no way. Daryl Smith didn't look particularly good on Sunday.

The inverse is true as well. Draft picks are sacred on these forums. Heck, we wouldn't give up a 2nd round for Calvin Johnson if these people had their way

Like I said only if we get something. That's like the one defensive position we actually have depth in.

It's actually really amazing how much of a mess the roster is.

Thats true for the most part. But when teams feel they're close and get desperate enough is when you see the Browns getting a #1 for Trent Richardson. It is a lot less common with Al Davis gone now though.

We should trade Elvis. McPhee and Upsaw will replace him. Elvis has sucked.

He was rated out as our best OLB after McPhee in the preseason, so you are making this assumption after one actual game? An actual game where all our OLBs were graded positively?

http://cover32.com/ravens/2014/08/27/pff-ravens-have-3rd-best-3-4-olb-this-preseason-and-its-not-suggs-or-dumervil/

Sometimes I think people do not actually watch the games. No sacks does not necessarily = bad OLB play. Bengals were running option, bubble screens, RB screens, etc.

The only players who graded poorly on defense were Chykie and the ILBs.

Being a Raven fan has sucked so far this week, and we still have the Steelers to contend with.

Hoping for good things on TNF.

Go Ravens

Winning the Super Bowl really helps sooth a lot of the bad stuff that has happened since. I don't want to think about how badly I would feel if we blew that lead in New Orleans a year after having the drop and the miss in New England followed by this whole Ray Rice incident. I don't want to think about it.

It's quite amazing how far the team has fallen since then...thank God for that victory.

Teams would be silly to not even ask us about it. We need to keep him around, especially if Daryl Smith doesn't start playing faster.

Well there's very little to be cheerful about in these parts.
