Arthur Brown Trade Rumors

Hope not, I think our LB core is right where it needs to be. Plus I don't think we would get anyone in exchange worth his value.

Major disappointment if we do.  He looked really good in PS.  He's a good coverage LB in today's NFL and speed to make plays behind the line.  Not sure why we plan on giving up on him.  Nothing suggests why.

I'm going to file this under do not believe.  Perhaps someone called up the Ravens asking about Brown for a RB or something.

Although, we have some extra cap room, and if there's a position we could afford to trade it's ILB.

If it's for a CB or WR I could get on board. Already read on twitter the chiefs would be interested. Maybe Bowe? I don't know. If it's anything less than a 2nd round pick I'll be upset.

Probably teams targeting him after seeing our ILB depth. Don't think the Ravens would give him away without high compensation.

I'd be pissed if we traded for Bowe. He is the epitomy of what the problem with our WRs has been for years -- can't get open, can't make plays

This surprises me... 0 much...

I'm sorry; but, I knew the moment the Ravens took C.J. Mosley with their 1st-round pick, this past May, something was amiss with Arthur Brown.

That usually doesn't mean much in Ozzie's book.  Daryl Smith is getting up in age and Arthur Brown was still developing.  Mosley was sitting there as BPA, Ozzie does his thing.

I envision Brown and Mosley making one of the best ILB duos in the league for years to come with Daryl is done in Baltimore.  Drafting for the future not necessarily need.

Yeah, I'd feel undecided. I feel like he'd still be a huge upgrade over Jacoby or Marlon. Not sure what his contract looks like though.

He could be in Harbaugh's proverbial "doghouse" for some reason we don't know about, but I thought he performed well in preseason...

@RavensInsider: Sources indicate Ravens linebacker Arthur Brown extremely unlikely to be traded, but he's a popular target for teams because of his talent

Author Brown > Any one else not Adrian Peterson or Calvin Johnson....I'm bring serious. What could they be thinking if this is true?

Ive suspected this move for a while. Not browns fault he's our only player with any type of trade value. He is easily a starter in this league and is collecting dust in our bench ATM.

Well, thank God. That makes sense considering the situation because we are deep at ILB but I'd sooner trade Smith than Brown.

Just because other teams are calling us about him doesn't mean we've put him on the block with a "must-go" tag. We should listen to the offers, sure, but this is nothing until it's something, na' mean?

Would be extremely angry and disappointed if this is true. He clearly should be playing, don't care "what the coaches see" etc. He should be starting next to Mosley.

You say that; but, the Ravens re-signed Daryl Smith to a new 4-year deal in March 2014. Meaning, Art Brown's deal will expire BEFORE Smith's does.

Now, obviously, as you said, Smith is getting-up their in age. Yet, the team then went on to draft Mosley. Why would they draft another ILB when they already had a 2nd-rounder (from the previous year), a veteran who is still solid (and was given a 4-year deal) and Josh Bynes (who was a starter for some games in 2013)? Wouldn't the replacement for Daryl Smith be someone who would be drafted in 2015 or 2016, AFTER Smith's play starts to take a step-or-two back?

Maybe I'm just honestly speculating too much; although, the healthy scratch on Sunday is quite concerning, in my opinion.

Smith can be cut next year and save $750k or $2.1 million if cut in two years.

Except for the 10year Almost pro bowl Vet with 16mil contract...

The healthy scratch is strange and perhaps we're listening to offers. I'm not sure. It would explain the healthy scratch. I'm sure there's a "right player, right price" compensation Ozzie and crew have. I'm not sure what it would be though. Also, to discredit your point, we could cut Smith as early as 2015 or even 2016 and still save cap space, so that four year deal you mention as some type of reason we may not have faith in Brown really amounts to nothing considering we can cut Smith as early as next off-season and save money on the cap.

That sounds more like it.

I find that hard to believe.  He's a high character guy with a great attitude and played well in PS.  Nothing suggests doghouse.
