Same here brother. Rice will always be a Raven. One mistake does not define a man.

The Baltimore Ravens will offer an exchange for Ray Rice jerseys at stadium stores. Details to come later on BaltimoreRavens.com.

I have MS and I am a die hard Ravens fan with Jerseys of Rice,Flacco and Suggs.  I live in Cape May NJ.  Is there any way I can exchange my Rice jersey for a Pitta jersey?  Due to my health...I cannot attend games.  Thank You

I agree.

Ditto. Rice made a terrible mistake .Watching the video was sickening but where

Are the Christians out there? Wouldn't Jesus himself forgive Ray Rice ?

The problem is both the NFL and the Ravens Front Office completely bungled the

entire suspension process .

He should have been suspended for the year immediately . Then the NFL comes up

with a policy of 6 games for a first time offense and lifetime ban for a second one.

I think this is fair .

But then they hold Rice to a higher standard even though he is the reason they instituted the new policy!

How hypocritical.

The sad part of this whole jersey exchange thing is that it reminds me of the Aaron Hernandez incident when the Pats did the exchange and what Rice did does not come close to the Hernandez situation.

Its a huge political football now, that's why they did it. Even Obama couldn't stop himself from chiming in on the matter.

But it's smart.

You're giving fans option of turning in a jersey of a player that's not on the or did something you're against for another team option.

Thank you for doing this. I'll be there.

I've read some of the other posts and seen comments on facebook and it's as i suspected it would be, where some love the idea and some hate it. Some are die hards that will stay by him to the end, some are ready to never hear his name again. Both are fine, because they are points of view. Someones opinion. Bottom line is were all Ravens fans, and we're just trying to find our own way to move on.

To the one poster who mentioned how this situation isn't close to the Hernandez event, I agree, the severity is not the same, but as i said earlier, the principle is. Imagine someone who is not a ravens fan, go a step further and imagine someone who's not even a football fan and put yourself in their mind. If you were walking around a mall and saw someone who had the Rice jersey on, and you knew only what was in the media, what would you think? My first guess is, "Oh look, he's wearing the wife-beaters number", or something to that degree. I cannot and will not wear something that in our society is now going to be for the foreseeable future the face of domestic violence. The Pats fans were thinking the same thing, "Why would I want to keep a promotional item for a murderer?" And I'm not the type to keep it in my closet to pine over and think, "Well it was a shame what happened". This was a good move for the organization to satisfy the fans that want nothing to do with these jerseys anymore. For those that stand by him, great, there's nobody forcing you to show up. And i'm sure Ray could use all the support he can get.

Yeah, god forbid he just answers a question from a reporter... duh... Not like he went out of his way to rant like I do...

Good on the team for doing this. They have a brand name to uphold, and Rice's controversy does challenge the value of that brand. The brand is reflected by jerseys, and if fans don't want themselves associated with Rice, they should have this option. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I guess you don't know how the q & A sessions work at the White House. Many questions are encouraged by staff to be brought up by reporters they know.

You should be glad you're not in politics.

Before anyone goes off the reservation exchanging and burning jerseys maybe we should give it a little more thought. What if because of this incident our nation's approach to DV is changed forever and Ray Rice has taken a leading role on how it happened? I still believe in him and know he's capable of surviving this storm, being a stronger husband and father because of it and taking leadership in this change.

That no. 27 would be a priceless gift to pass-on to a new generation. Just a thought.

Honestly, I think this is stupid. You can't wipe the guy from history, good grief. On a larger note, media, please shut up.  I'm tired of hearing about it already. The media thinks everyone is dying to hear more and more about it…bull. It's their obsession, not ours.

There's no need to try to defend the actions of Ray Rice in February of 2014. Anyone with common sense knows that regardless of the emotional circumstances domestic violence is wrong.

What's also wrong is the inability of an important executive to be able to make a decision that affects the lives of Ray Rice, his wife, his family, fans, team-mates and policy makers throughout the world.

He said it himself; Roger Goodell got it wrong in July of 2014, but more than that he also got it wrong in August of 2014. He set a policy in the NFL that outlines the stiffer penalties: a six-game suspension without pay for the first offense and a lifetime ban for a second offense then imposes a penalty contrary to his “new Policy” of a six-game suspension for a first offense. I interpret this as being a new “new” policy.

It should be very interesting to see which of his many policies he will invoke on San Francisco 49er's Ray McDonald in his domestic violence case. Perhaps he will come up with a new, new “New” policy and change all of his previous policies.

For the NFL to have any “Ray” of hope it would be well for Roger Goodell to move over and let the NFL have a leader capable of getting it right. In most businesses it would be inconceivable and unacceptable for the CEO to be wrong so often.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that the Ray Rice situation called for the suspension of Ray Rice until the New Jersey courts concluded their finding and Ray Rice concluded with his pre-intervention program.

There is no way that either Roger Goodell or the Baltimore Ravens did not have or could not have had assess to the inside elevator video if they had chosen. The release of the video was a perfect opportunity for Roger Goodell to save face in the after-mast of his “I got it wrong” decision. In the fallout of that decision he then went overboard to right his wrong.

What does it take to understand what we all knew by March that Ray Rice punched and knocked out his then fiancee. The recently released video showed nothing that we all didn't already know. So why now all of the changed policies and Raven's decision. The only answer is that both Goodell and the Ravens decided to take it to the limits and try to save face in the public eye.

As hard as it is to take, I can understand the Ravens deciding to release Rice but it should have been back when the facts were known and not after misleading Rice into thinking he was still in good standings after the two game suspension. Janah Palmer was the victim in this incident in the elevator and is again the victim of both the Ravens and in particular Goodell by cutting off the livelihood of Rice and the ability to continue providing for his family in the current manner. Goodell's new decision is as far reaching as any decision could have been affecting the decisions of sponsors, the CFL and marketers.

After watching Sunday's Game with the Bengals vs. the Ravens nothing short of Goodell's resignation will allow me to ever watch an NFL game. As large as the NFL is it needs a leader with abilities just as big.

He very well could have. He's encountered a massive penalty for one terrible act but that's the risk you take in the line of work he is in. Don't feel great about the jersey swap, think that's too far for a guy with an exemplary record.

Full details regarding the Ray Rice jersey exchange opportunity can be found here: www.rvns.co/2az (or in the Ravens mobile app).

This is extremely dumb to me that they'd limit it to just two days when so many people don't live in Baltimore

I don't get why some of you guys are disappointed in the Ravens for the jersey swap. No one is holding a gun to your head and telling you to turn in the jersey. The team is just giving people an option -mainly children and parents who don't want their kids wearing his jersey- to swap a jersey that would go unworn otherwise for a new one. I think the Ravens are doing the right thing here for the fans, why let a $100 jersey collect dust in your closet if you're truly not going to wear it?

That being said, I'm really rooting for Ray and his wife to turn this whole situation around and to stay strong. The media should be ashamed of how they've handled this.

Here in San Fran I can't exchange my bros jersey... So we are locking it in a chest and leaving it in the attic where it will never been seen again.

I just bought him a Flacco one anyway..

Come to think of it I need a new jersey too... Ray Lewis retired lol
