Anyways a "Smack Shack" section would be great to have for the upcoming season for fans of other teams and ourselves to talk some smack before a "BIG GAME" etc think about it, It would be a cool idea and I would love to Mod it

The trolls go IN the Smack Shack makes it alot of fun talking smack with Bungle fans etc before the game on here would be awesome to have a section dedicated to that and maybe a section just for Raven fans like they have setup on there msg boards maybe called Raven Nation and underneath saying "Raven fan posts only" Just some ideas throwing out there thats all.

I noticed the Ravens website is ranked like 28th..... With this board up I'm sure we will go up on the rankings for sure

You KNOW how trash-talking can get. Plus, imagine how often that profanity filter would be flagged...

Like once the season starts it wont happen anyways in General Discussion? and also with fans of other teams, so why not just make a specific section for it so there is nothing to deal with and if people use General Discussion they get warned then banned.

Also adds to the fun who wants to sit on a boring MB without bickering sometimes once the season starts about the fans of teams facing one another and just having a good time while the game is on or pregame talk.

Reguardless there is going to be people once the season starts "smack talking" prolly in general discussion if one isnt made. So the mods mine as well make a "Smack Talk" section so people dont flood general discussion area with smack. And like I said it makes games so much more fun when fans of opposites teams come in that we may be playing that day a few hours before the game and smack talk with one another to get pumped up even more before the game starts. And if mods are worried about some profanity then they should put under whatever title they may chose to call the Smack section warning some profanity may be used in this section enter at your own risk or figure out some other way, I mean people dont even need to cuss to smack talk they can always warn users if they do to chill and if not ban them.

Also maybe make an area for "Ravens Fans only" to talk amongst themselves where no other fans from other teams can join in or post any topics like the Bungles have on their Message Boards.

Well if I can add my 2 cents........we have a smack forum on the bengals site and it's our most succesful forum. Don't worry about the language or ones who just spam the boards because they are banned. Some of the best conversations go on there, the bengals board also has a section that is only for bengals fans so you won't get trolls posting in there at all and they are warned if they do.

It works pretty good, but it's all up to your mods on here....it is a full time commitment to moderate the smack forum.

Well worth it though.

Not if us mods stay on top of it.

I'm not too much in favor of a smack forum on these boards. They are a pain to moderate and there are plenty of other sites where that kind of thing goes on. I'd rather see this site be one for "real" football talk without the smack thrown in.

Well, if it'll be that much of an issue for you guys, I guess I'll volunteer to TRY to moderate it.

I mean, I can't guarantee anything since I'll be starting college in the fall and don't know my schedule yet, but even when I'm working or in classes, I'll be on the computer all the time. So I guess I could maybe we could TRY it and see what happens? I dunno...

I can help Moderate it keep it in check for sure, give it a try see how it goes icleast for a week or so.

Well, there you go. We can both help Mod it if it really turns out to be a two-man job, but I think you can handle it since it was your idea to begin with.

I don't believe I'm speaking out of turn when I tell you that the general consensus among the moderators - and even the Ravens themselves - is that the official board will have no smack forum. It has been considered, but it just isn't something we want here.

I didn't like that about the Bengals boards because it allows for them to basically give false information and spread BS without having a rebuttal to educate them.

We def need this and moderators to keep it clean watching I myself will Mod it.... I know its been talked about and the mods said no, but this place needs a little boost seems to be dying a lil bit and going slow with a Smack Talk section I think it will bring fans from other teams and more people and be more energetic in here. Think about it

All NFL boards are slow this time of year unless you have players in jail! Smack leads to name calling and personal attacks which are not welcome on this site.

The definition of smack is name-calling and personal insults.

Without that, you don't have a smack forum.

In any case, there will not be one on this site.

That's not my decision, but happen to agree with it - as do all the other moderators.

Since there is really no point in discussing this any further, I'm closing this topic.
