how could you say D wasn't that bad what game did u watch they scored on most of thier drives we couldn't stop the run we couldn't stop the screen plays (same as last year)bungles receivers were open all day wide open dalton thru for over 300 yards thanks to Pees soft and off coverage we didn't cover running backs out of the backfield again no sacks other than that they played great

Defense stopped every drive but 1 for no more than a FG. Stop yer whining'. The only DC we need has to be a player on the field. And if Flacco got the TD he was looking' for before halftime when the clock ran out he'd have been your hero.

Idk too many players scared of Elam. I don't recall too many big hits last season other than the hit on Cobb last yr. Now Pollard was a hard hitter!

Only his 2nd season he'll come on.

He gave GB a good lick today.

And to say we dont have a hard hitter that will punish anyone coming across the middle... well we actually have that ... but because of the new rules they domt want us to hit players coming across the field anymore they consider defenseless and throw flags every chance they get!

Flacco's play today is why he isn't considered 'elite' by the national media. He's like hot and cold running water and you never know what you're going to get. Inconsistent. Better than any other we had but not elite. Wishful thinking maybe.

I like Elam don't get me wrong, I'm just saying we need someone to strike some fear into opposing teams.

Only his 2nd season he'll come on.

He gave GB a good lick today.

This 1st down passing stuff is killing me. Cam, Caldwell, now this guy. What is the point of coming out and saying that we are going to be dedicated to the run this season, then the first half of the first game right when our running game has problems we go and abandon it. SMH... but surprising that our running game got us out of it, opened up the passing and we got back into the game.

Overall a very ugly game. Here our my worst of the worst. S. Smith dropping I believe four passes as well as JJ, Daniels with one each. JJ looked very hesitant on KOR duty, put Thompson in thursday please. Our number four corner on AJ Green makes no sense, not in this game, not ever. Bending but not breaking = giving up yards and points which loses games. Not sacking the redhead is unacceptable. And for gods sakes when we get a blocked kick we have got to score points. Argh. Thursday better be a very different game. Losing is one thing, playing that bad is entirely another.

We have all heard and understand the West Coast offense, however, what do you do if you can't run the football consistently, fall behind early, and drop the football?

Upset right now. Just facts of the game. The offense could not get into any kind of rythem except for consistent 3 and out's for the first 2 1/2 quarters. Too many dropped passes. Seemed to have lack of urgency. Did not wake up till middle of 3rd quarter. The defense played pretty darn good holding the Bengals out of the end-zone most of the day and only allowing FG's. Right now

Bengals 1-0

Steelers 1-0

Ravens 0-1

Browns 0-1

Stinks but I hope Thursday the players get their funk streightened out.

At some point you gotta think about a qb change. If for no other reason than to wake Flacco up.

I am sure glad your not the coach I guess the players would not drop the ball if Taylor threw it to them huh?

He did make a bone head move at the end of the half...but Flacco for the most part was hitting the receivers. I guess hitting them in the hands is a bad place :o GO RAVENS!

our defense played well first half have but the biggest problem was our offense could not move in the first half. second half good comeback but if the ravens play like this will be a long season. Also i hope we get 2 wins against the 2 teams i do not like steelers and browns.

who said flacco should be benched is insane it wasn't flaccos fault that at least 7 passes were dropped or the line didn't give him enough time he did make a couple mistakes but made up for some with 345 passing yards if talor was playing we would have gitten blow out

I'm not talking about Taylor.  Fact is we got no consistent qb.  Trade, draft or do whatever is necessary to wake and shake Flacco.  He needs some competition.  He's regressed since he started.

Harb's reason for sitting Pierce is what makes me think he is a lucky joke of a coach. The man fumbled once in how many carries and you shatter his spirit?

I counted a least three boneheaded coaching calls today. Why didn't Harb's take himself out? 1) Running a play with 8 sec left at the half instead of taking a field goal. 2) asking JT to kick a 55yd field goal. 3) not running Pierce or Taliaferro on the 2 pt conversion. 4) running an empty back field on that last play when you know your QB has a slow trigger.

Your aces coach.

I don't like the loss, but I was encouraged by what I saw. Unless Steve Smith drops 4 1st down passes on a weekly basis, and I guarantee you he won't, the offense should be very good moving forward. Receivers were getting open and Flacco was hitting them all game. Once they actually started catching the ball, the offense was moving up and down the field at will. I liked Kubiak's playcalling. Flacco was getting easy completions, he stuck with the pass when it was working, but he mixed in some runs to stay balanced, and Forssett averaged over 6 yds/carry. The Bengals couldn't stop the Ravens today. The Ravens stopped themselves with all of those drops, but that was just a fluke. Moving forward, those drops will turn into catches, the offense will put up a lot of points, and the Ravens will win a lot of games.

It's not what did, but what he didn't do. He didn't throw the ball away when he should have. Also, he didn't read the blitz.

At some point we need to replace Deen pees I said it last year and again this year soft and off coverage cant scheme to get to QB stupid corner blitz from way outside covering teams best receiver with 1 man a backup with the game on the line same mistakes as last year after only 1 game

It's interesting that in one regular season game, the reality has set in. Training camp and preseason are highly misleading.

My points? Besides Smith Sr., we have no bonafide elite receiver but we kept 7 on the 53 man roster.

The defense has been mediocre since Pees took over. We're always talking about the great defensive coaching staff, but I'm frankly underwhelmed. The only things good I saw today were good TEs and good game by Forsett.

I don't know enough defense to condemn Mr. Pees but the Seahawks keep Sherman on one side for the entire game. Rodgers tried to take advantage of that. I think u can only do what common sense allows and play the cards u got. If a guy gets beat well that's sports. If a coach gambles on a big payoff instead of calling for an easy pick up well that's all she wrote. No one individual lost the game. It just happens. We should know by now they aren't the same team that could get just enough points out of the offense and let the defense hold off their side for the close win. I did expect to see more running and at least some of those short routes and under neaths and screens or whatever that would get the ball outta Joe's hands pronto. I was surprised to see so many corners giving way for easy yardage. If u can't get a decent corner in the draft than maybe get a consultant.

Harbagh benched pierce for 1 fumble but why in the first didn't he put other receivers in the game game to catch the damm ball or put some pass rushers in the game who could actually get to the QB bench dummerville and give simon a chance

And why was Jones used on all kick off returns? We got other guys. Coach needs to stop being nice. Shake up the roster. We got guys drafted who never seem to get a chance. Only time you see em is in pre-season. Makes no sense. Receivers dropped passes, true but when the qb isn't reliable you got no chemistry between 'em. No off season practice. This is what it looks like during the season. No chemistry. Dull, lack-luster, going through the motions. Failure.
