[News] Game Recap: Bengals 23, Ravens 16

The play that ended the 1st half did it for me. This gave a clear indicator that our beloved QB lacked some some serious situational awareness to the extreme.

That is a play you would be angry about a rookie making. To not be able to go to the line on that play and know, you stay in the pocket and if your first read isn't there, you sail the ball over everyone's heads 10 yards past the back of the end zone. Once he rolled out of the pocket, it was clear that he was completely lost and the we were throwing 3 points out the window. It is just stunning to me that a QB going into his 7th year could make that play.

IDK if anyone else has a problem with us wearing white at home, but I want to know why

The hot weather and beaming sun, the more you follow football you'll notice that, besides now we get to wear our dark colors in somebody else's stadium later this year for doing so.

Heat ... early in the year, all teams opt for white for their home games.

Please get a good Def coordinator thats not dumb enound to blitz a corner at the end of the game from so far outside it would be impossible to get to the QB next time try covering AJ green with Double coverage instead of covering bengals BEST receiver with a back up with no help its not that hard to figure out also why do we pay dummerville all that money to pressure the QB and he is not doing it

The only thing worth watching in the color purple today is Oprah and Danny Glover..

Yes it's on right now.. I think Oprah got beat less than Chykie Brown today.

I heard a lot of talk about how now Ngata was going to be at his natural position and he was gonna be better and dominant again..... NOT so much!!! and Sugs and Doom? Invisible.... WR's ? cant catch

From most egregious to least:

-Another 4th Q defensive let down

-Dropped passes

-Boneheaded coaching decisions(55yd field goal, running another play with 8 seconds left in 1st half when you could have kicked a 30yd field goal, running Forsett instead of Taliaferro or Pierce on two point conversion.). Can the coach put himself in the dog house?

-Flacco's poor decision making. Not in throwing the ball but rather in not throwing the ball away at times

- Pees no pressure defense ( can we start the fire Pees move now)

- No pressure from front four or seven

- Jacoby trying to run everything out of the end zone

Pierce's fumble. Yes I thought this was the least egregious thing of all

Where was Kubiak's vaunted stretch-run offense? Where was the adjustment to the blitz? Did Joe ever audible? No hot reads, counters, and draws. Where were Doom, Sizzle (1 TFL), Ngata (1 batted down pass) Big $alary, litle performance. Jacoby's hands of stone! Elam, no impact. This franchise constantly commits dumb penalties, in recent years, along with poor tackling. We have big CBs who Pees seems scared to place in press coverage. The AJ Green TD was turrible, just ran by Brown playing 8 yds off. At least play a safety deep on that side. Too many wide open Bengals, their play-calling was brilliant (1st half). Torrey, in a contract yr, he needs to showcase for that payday. Joe's end of 1st half miscue, the INT, the sacks, being caught from behind and knocked down with a 1st down in his grasp, UGH. Like what I saw from CJ, Forsett, Smith Sr's energy and 2nd half, Brandon, and we didn't hear Wagner's name, cool.

Short week for the toughest game we play in the season Ravens Steelers week this doesnt favor us nor does the following week vs the Brownies

Yea like others on here have already stated. I really don't understand why we didn't have Jimmy Smith locked on AJ Green with 5 mins left and the game on the line.

I didn't notice if they put Green in motion on that play late. Sometimes teams will successfully move their top receiver away from the opponents best cover CB. I'm not sure if defenses are really able to run their CBs around players in motion.I don't know that we purposefully decided that we wanted Brown to take Green, but in the end the safety needs to see this and know where help is needed. So it may be a lack of on the field awareness and not a coach's call.

If some would watch more than yell at their TV they would've noticed Suggs and Ngata both had great plays. A J Green was lining up on both sides of the field in a hurry up offense. Not enough time to switch side to please everybody. Could've caught both corners in transition and burned us more often.

Up until Green's TD, the Ravens' defense wasn't that bad today. The offense, on the other hand was GOD AWFUL, barring the two TD scores. Not sure which was worse: Flacco not being able to score right before half or the receivers dropping easy passes for most of the game.

I'm pretty sure the Steelers have a short week too. They have to travel (albeit, not that far). Then, we get extra rest before facing the Browns. If we just stop making stupid mistakes and play Ravens football, we'll be OK

Don't know if it is Pees or what? Jimmy should be on No. 1 WR all game long. Doom and Suggs should have playing time severely reduced. McPhee should be starter. Doom, Suggs, Upshaw split time at the other OLB posn. And if bend don't break is really scheme it needs to go, along with Pees. Bend don't break just means bad defense. Giving up scores on way more than 50% of the opponents possessions, even if they are FGs, is not going to win games. Today was proof of that.

suggs and ngta had 1 good play each when you make several million ayear 1 play a game is not even close to enough

Suggs was over aggressive.

Can this team learn how to both run a screen and defend against it? Smh

Absolutely pathetic! Defense played great for 3 QTS and in one play screwed that all up! One thing I did notice is that our secondary doesn't have a HARD hitter that makes people think twice about coming across the middle! Our secondary needs some type of game changer, (ball hawk or big hitter). The offense threw the ball 65 times, 2 yds a pop to check downs! I'm sorry but the offense looked out of sync and not nearly polished enough to start the season. Big drops, indecision by Flacco and a mediocre run game won't get us anywhere. Hopefully Thursday we look a lot better.

Flacco is not Elite no matter what anyone says anymore.

If he can't beat a blitz he'll never achieve elite status. Got to make them pay for blitzing. WRs need to help too.

Elam is a hard hitter.

Idk too many players scared of Elam. I don't recall too many big hits last season other than the hit on Cobb last yr. Now Pollard was a hard hitter!

Pollard was politically incorrect.  Especially after he injured the fair haired Brady boy.
