I am trying to decide if this is sarcasm, fallout from a bad opening day performance or a bold statement of confidence in your field general???

Eh both our QBs only played one half of football. Wouldn't jump onto that judgmental ledge right now.

Well, I wasn't really referring to one half of one game. I was just looking for the original poster to show some evidence that the Ravens are a better team right now. The answer I got was , "Joe Flacco." So I don't think I'm on a judgmental ledge. I was looking for some real football discussion/debate before the big game. What I got was, "Joe Flacco."

My biggest concern is the distraction that the Rice incident is causing for the preparation against their biggest division rival.

Yep.

Also, people keep talking about how we moved the ball well against Cincy in the 2nd half. You all do realize that our success against them was directly related to Burfict being out, right?

Yes, I'm sure that the successes of our WIDE RECEIVERS in the second half were directly because a LINEBACKER was out with an injury. I'm sure that's how that works.

Flacco definitely looked more comfortable, though yes the receivers actually catching balls helped.

Our O is still finding it's identity. If Forsett can build on his performance from last Sunday, Kubiak will no doubt run it a bit more, which in return will keep some pressure off Joe and open the field up for more deep shots (Gosh, as bad as the offense was sometimes, Joe's TD pass to Smith Sr. was a thing of beauty).

I'm not sure, when exactly we can expect the offense to fire on all cylinders, but I do hope we won't need half the season like the Steelers last year.

Let me ask you...do you think we can crawl out of a 0-2 or 0-3 hole?

I think we might have a relatively easy game for the first time since the 2011 opener if

- our receivers keep catching like 2nd half vs Bengals

- Pitta/Daniels tandem continues to work well

- we manage to contain Bell and Brown to average figures

Our OL should have easier job than on Sunday, I expect our rush to improve. Hopefully media storm around Ray situation won't have much effect on players.

Have we built a fence along the Pittsburgh sideline?

Meh, I don't think it will come that far.

Unfortunately I think that's what we're looking at so my excitement is at a minimum.

Kinda sucks that neither fan base is too optimistic about they're chances in this game. I didn't see any of the Ravens game but the Steelers D was non existent in the second half and not a whole lot better in the first half against a really bad browns offence.

It's always a blood bath but I miss these two teams of about 4 yrs ago.

I'm hanging on to "we nearly beat the Bengals while the Steelers nearly lost to the Browns". It's all I've got.

for playing so awful and narrowly getting beat against a good team can be seen as a positive. If it only happens once

I think we will come out firing tbh. Suggs better has his usual big game

Yes I'm honestly thinking the same thing... Really hoping for a big reaction from crowd.. Get the place amped up and our veterans to lead the way

I agree. I think this is going to be a classic statement game for us.

Just a feeling, but I think we are going to blow out the squealers. This sets up for a huge performance.

Given the Steelers were a missed field goal from getting out of an 0-4 hole last year, I don't see why not. Other teams will drop games later in the year.

I forgot how intensely people overreact around here after a loss.

i think the steelers play dirty just like tolmin if steelers dont want ravens get td. Ravens Defense have to use man coverage ILBs QB spy if big ben try a dead end play option if the RB r FB run defense of line men gotta watch coverage the middle while corners zone the side lines. Corners half to tip passe or get int but tip a pass to knock it down when big ben scramble.corners gotta git these oppents like turn up u feel me i mean push try get a good hit i mean good like ray lewis turn up.ravens offense and offesense alingmen need to watch for Blitz bunch up on one side like the left. even block the linemen make sure it aint no extra players on the field steelers blitz bekuz polamalu r other steelers ilb cr blitz. flacco got to audible fake pump nd b mobile but expolit the defesen but transparently bekuz they muve up to blitz at the hike of the ball.wants they found out flacco game u gotta use a different formation

Well, if I take this conversation at face value, both of you are claiming that the Ravens are better than the Steelers right now because of Joe Flacco. Oooookay.

Welcome to the Ravens site sir.

That would be huge. This has been a dreadful week to be a Ravens fan and you'd imagine the players are only feeling it worse. Even our own fans are writing us off at this point, so game on.

I'm filling a little optimistic about this game.  Really!  I believe that the Ravens will rally in support of one another due to this media firestorm around Rice's infamous video and release from the team on yesterday and have a "us against the world" mentality and aggressive style of play.  Flacco will be on fire (yeah...I said that), the running backs will be explosive, the receivers will catch everything tossed their way as though they are wearing that old-school stick'um and the defense will be firing on all cylinders and be beastly in their approach to locking down Big Ben, the run game and flying through the air in the secondary...pick city!!

Go Ravens!!
