Hey, two years ago you Steelers fans were saying the Ravens were old because of Ray and Reed. What goes around comes around.

The offense wasn't that bad and it's only been one week. Chilllllll.

First of all Juvie, you don't have nearly enough posts to be telling me to chill man! :D   And secondly, everyone in here that knows me; knows that when I speak about this offense that my frustrations with it stems from them mirroring the gameplay from previous seasons NOT merely yesterdays game.  However, they played like trash in that one as well.  Now, you chill with being over zealous in trying to tell me to chill.

Ugh the Defense.

Yep!  The same defense, the way I saw it; that was able to hold the bengals to 5 FG's nearly the entire game while the Ravens offense wasn't able to jack with the football an entire half.  But, ok!  To each his own man! :lolpoof:

@Mili,

Mili, that bend but dont break mentality is is horrible. Why try not to bend at all? Eventually it will break. With suggs and dumerville we zero sacks and pressure. Are they that bad? Or is it scheme? The O sucked but we were still winning. If the offense struggles again this thursday then IDK what to think man.

@Mili,

They weren't horrible, but I think they only forced two punts and they had no sacks (against Andy Dalton of all people) and they continued last years trend of bend-but-don't-break-until-the-game-is-on-the-line.

The offense is surely worse, but the defense really isn't up to Baltimore standards.

I didn't call your entire defense old - just talked about Taylor and Troy trying to cover teenagers with their walkers. That is all.

But I like your theory much better because that means they're all just out of shape and collapse in the 2nd half. I'm good with that because our offense likes to play the 2nd half!

Agreed Florida!  The bend but don't break mentality is horrible!  But that is not my take on it!  What I saw was a Ravens defense that limited the bengals to FG's!  Sure, they couldn't get off the field but they kept the game extremely manageable for the Ravens offense to put some points on the board to take a commanding lead EARLY IN THE GAME by scoring TD's and they didn't and couldn't do that!  Even on the block FG attempt and run back; the Ravens offense gets the ball in scoring territory and what happened?  Flacco tossed an INT!  That is what I's saying man!  loL!  But you make some great points about the defense.  Both units must play better but for me; it is the offense that has the opportunity to score cause they are the one's touching the football. I cringe when our offense hits the field man!  Cause they are helter skelter in their execution most of the time.

@Mili,

yeah Mili, they both pretty much sucked in the first half. Man it was hard watching the bungles march up and down the field at will, then all of the dropped passes, bad routes, etc. on O.  But you are right, the D did hold em to FGs. Gotta say though we were helped by some questionable 3rd down play calls by Hue.

Don't know how many games you make it to, but sorry you had to see that one in person. Can't tell you how many bad headaches I went home with back in the Carson Palmer days!  lol

i think ravens need to use a stream of screen plays, man coverage, nd the running game nd also watch out for the steelers screen plays nd qb escaping the pocket nd also the steelers option plays so we might need dline qb spy, press coverage nd when to zone the sidelines so we can force themto throw down the middle

I think cortez will be a great corner i was happy we locked him up, thanks for noticing young talent in our secondary. And if i dont pick on them how will they learn ;)

I like Allen as a payer. I am expecting a big year from him. Not sure why ravens fans are saying the steelers D old. If anything it's inexperienced but athletic. I expect them to be better as the year goes on.

I am with you on this Tank!  Please!  Don't think that because I am hard on the offense that I don't realize the defenses' woes.  I do!  However, my mindset is this; since this is a "passing" league and every rule seems to be geared towards offenses scoring and scoring quickly; my issue with our offense is; "How come they can't seem to do this on a regular or consistent basis?"  "Why all of the slow starts?"  "How come you can even get 2 point conversions?"  Especially, when they are touching the football more than the defenders?  That's all I've been saying!

Now, my wife and I were pissed about how the Ravens played Tank!  We talked about it nearly all the way back to Chesapeake, VA this morning.  Our experience was great though.  Taking pictures with Ray's statue, getting on the field while the Ravens were warming up and going over drills before the game was priceless!  I was right there on the sidelines watching them and calling out their names!  Lol!  The suite was awesome!  The food up there was incredible!  The view?  Meh!  Thursday night I will be sitting at the 40 yard line behind the Ravens bench on row 3 and we are pumped for that one!

Another thing to keep in mind, the Thursday games have typically been lower scoring than normal due to the short week. Not sure if it being the first week will mitigate that some. I'm fairly sure both teams came out of week one relatively unscathed.

It would be really refreshing if we can win in dominant fashion after a very bad week of press/humiliation of game#1.

Just 2 days away.   What a short week.

With the events of today I don't know how the team as a whole is gonna respond. The media circus is gonna surround them HARD.

Let's hope it galvanizes the team like in 2000 and 2012. Dare I say with all the adversity facing this team. This is a must win home division game.

SMH! It's all good. I'm full of zealously right now, just want Thursday to come so our guys can play some football instead of focusing on the media. I thought our game plan was pretty on point and the yardage was there. Just silly but fixable miscues from the personnel standpoint.

You can tell something is wrong when this thread is only nine pages long,

No way the team is focused on Thursday.
