Official Vent Thread: Who to cut, Who Played Well, Who is in the Dog House?

C. Brown is not the answer at CB. He got burnt all the preseason and nothing changed. We should have kept Cox or see what good veterans are available.

Also, let's talk about how Elvis Dumervil has been generally worthless.

Generally seems like an over statement.  My guess now is that the Broncos disconnected their fax machine and said it wasn't coming through.  Wouldn't mind starting McPhee and seeing what we could get out of him.

Join the club.

This team will never blow anything up. This team isn't worth this season at this rate but it's not much we can do but ride it out and hope the team shuffles something together in the post season to threaten the Broncos. Ozzie needs to pull something major out of his behind in next years draft and the coaching staff has to start cutting back on the misses we've been having. Don't really like the direction this fanchise is going in, especially while the Steelers are doing the same thing. We could be sweeping them every season for the next 5 years.

I'm not giving up on Pierce just yet. Give him another game, as long as he's healthy.

Pierce is a so-so guy. He don't have the speed, he is not elusive, his power is slightly above average. There is nothing special about him.

Wow you are so oblivious lol. Flacco play well except for two horrible mistakes.

Its either you played well or you didn't, you can have it both ways.

Im not tryiing to turn this into a Flacco thread but why in the world is Flacco throwing the ball 62 times? Even Manning and Brees don't throw that many times on a average and Flacco shouldn't be throwing the ball that much. We need to go back to a team that establishes the run first and let that set up the pass. Seriously and I know I might get a lot of heat from people on here but with the exception of the amazing run to win the SB..... I like how we used Flacco back in his younger days as opposed to now. Talking bout the days of having Mason and Clayton with Heap. Stop trying to force a style on Flacco and let him play the game within his boundaries.

If he's waived next year so we can sign McPhee (who's a stud) I will have no objections.

Boldin is killing Dallas right now. Boldin helped Flacco's game out a lot man and it's no getting around those facts. He should have retired a Raven.

Ehh can't hate one specific pass rusher

Cincy was clearly ready for everything we threw at them

The sad thing is ,,I waited the entire off season for this garbage,, you can check my past post, OL;DANNY BOY PEES,, he has allot of supporters here, we need an aggressive style defense that is in our DNA ,when we have had former(and present) DC that did not bode well here look at their style,I did expect more on our offense, that slow start by our QB needs to end and end now,,,I did expect us to win this game

I liked Kubiak plan for the most part but agreed that he left the run too quickly, especially given how well we were running the ball. Shades of 2011.

Yeah I like the play calling on both offense and defense but are our guys good enough for what we aim to do. I don't know how we can fix that but we need more talent, especially on offense. Starting Ricky Wagner was due to lack of a better option not because we know he would be great. The more and more I look back at the game the more I love the play calling and strategy.

Yea...anyone who looks at this game and thinks coaching is the problem just doesn't understand the nuance and situational nature of the game. The coaches are doing their jobs, or at least did so in this game. I do agree that something has to be done about the pass rush, but they played an underneath game and led for the entire game so it makes total sense that we didn't get to Dalton. What doesn't make sense is...

...folding like a cheap suit on the right side of the line those last two plays(Wagner).

...being in your 4th year is a wide receiver and not being able to read between 10 and 25 yards from the line of scrimmage(T. Smith).

...running like you have eight legs while simultaneously carrying the ball like you have one arm (Pierce).

...dropping the ball when your quarterback hits you directly in the hands(All WRs not named Aiken).

All that on top of your quarterback letting everyone down by leaving 3 points on the board going into the half, and you're going to lose the game. Great, good, mediocre, poor, or downright awful coaching aside, you do those things and you're going to lose every time.

The biggest problem with the outside pass-rush is that it's hard to tell if it's a scheme issue (with Dean Pees) or if it's a personal problem.

And, heck; nevermind Dumervil. Let's talk about the other guy on the opposite side...

Suggs has been clowning every since Ray left. A huge disappointment. I thought he would be gone after this year but instead they gave him a new deal.

I have to give some credit to the Bengals offense and defense but a few of our players hurt thier stock while a few helped their stock. Players who hurt theirs: Jacoby Jones, Kyle Juszczyk, Bernard Pierce and Darian Stewart. Players who improve there stock: Kamar Aiken, Justin Forsett, and Owen Daniel.  Steve Smith was bad early but made some of it back, imo. Many other players were neutral, neither improving or hurting their stock.

Just my opinion!

Officially the worst move ever by the front office. Just to save 2 million. Not sure why they cut Cox either if they knew Webb wasn't starting.

Though to be fair Dallas has a terrible defense. I remember the Green Bay/San Fran game last year and it was similar.

It's amazing how we've blown all of our top drafts picks on defense and we still lack depth.

The Bengals are running circles around us in that regard.

It's time to accept that Flacco just isn't terribly particularly sharp. Caldwell found that out first-hand when he gave him too much power (of course other things went wrong too, but Flacco did not play well).

Kubiak needs to give Flacco the Schaub manager role, which is disappointing for a guy with his contract, but it's the best way to win.

I sure hope this isn't a Mark Rypien type decline for Flacco but since the Super Bowl it hasn't looked good. It's like he sold his soul for that win (and contract).

He can sell his soul along with mine for another Super Bowl win . Lol .

I just can't believe you and anybody else on here is coming to the rescue of a guy that can't grasp the concept of throwing a ball away and getting some points is better than what he did.

I almost laughed when i saw that play I was that mad. How do you get so mad you start laughing in disgust? SMH

I agree the play was stupid, but three points when you're down fifteen...I don't agree with trying to force the touchdown bit I see the argument. And that mistake didn't cost us the game. And your didn't dispute anything else I said so...

I hate these early divisional games, we needed a tune up game in the worst way. Cincy isn't even that good this year.. everything that could go wrong for us did and they still needed dramatics to pull out the win. If we can actually get a #2 CB and the wr's don't drop EVERYTHING we'll wax them in Cincy. 5 FG's when we were playing like garbage.

I like our offenses ability to finish drives a lot more then Cincy's, we just had a total duck of a game and should've lost by multiple possessions with that 1st half

All I know is that if the offense doesn't improve...who will we blame? Are we going to blame our 3RD OC, or the people who have been here from the beginning?

So, what exactly has happened to Marlon Brown? I know he had a less-than-stellar preseason; but, with the lackluster performances by the WRs (except Kamar Aiken), today, one would think Brown would get some playing time. However, that wasn't the case...

I looked for him also. I expect as the season unfolds Brown will show himself again.

im not a big what if guy but if flacco would have gotten rid of the ball and we got the fg i'm 99% sure we would have gone into OT only need a fg to tie it at the end.

It's actually ridiculous to look back at that move, to see how stupid it was. He very well could have been our SB MVP, and we would not have won that SB without him. Saving 2m? Really? We signed Canty, Spears and Huff which combined cleared like 9m I believe? Yeah, safe to say we could still have a kept him .. and I know Ozzie must realize that was a dumb move.

I truly hate even commenting on the Anquan move that has been beaten to death, but it really is officially the worst move ever by the front office.

Maybe you and Hardbaugh could sell yours to Flacco for two more SB wins.

I would absolutely sell my soul to give Flacco a brain, but we don't always get what we want unfortunately.

Yeah I defended it last year but there's really no defending it now. Pay your QB $$$ and take away his best target. Seems smart. Offense remains the red-headed stepchild. And we wonder why the offense always under delivers.

I blame the comet circling close to earth right now

Really I think you would blame Flacco for that comet if it hit the earth .

It's a team game . Many errors on both sides of the ball .
