Brown isn't great but he shouldn't have been on Green. Pees should know that. Pees is terrible, our defense has been soft as putty since he's been at the helm.

He covered AJ Green a fair amount on the day the Bengals did their absolute best to avoid Jimmy on AJ. I am very upset with the touchdown, but Brown wasn't as terrible as many are making him out to be

It's funny because I actually feel badly for him. I know he covered him in the game some but...crunch time, crucial time, you just don't do that. Jimmy should have been covering him.

I don't really have a problem with Chykie. What do you expect from a CB who doesn't really look for the ball consistently? He's very much a guy you need to help with a safety and he didn't do a bad job. He was serviceable. I just don't like that he was left on an island with AJ-freaking-Green.

Nope, not at all. He was much better than what he showed in the preseason . I don't have a major problem getting beat 1on1 against AJ Green. Heck, he almost made a great play. I look to why Stewart was late to the party and looked horrible flailing around attempting a tackle.

Couple bad plays, but I wouldn't say awful overall. That attempted shoulder tackle on the sideline vs the TE early was horrible, though. He also looked like the easiest guy in the NFL to block on screens.

He certainly had his fair share of issues, such as tackling, and allowed a handful of completions, but the overreactions on here are real

But Pees is awesome, Pees is great, it is never Pees' fault.

Just keep repeating it.

Cannot blame Brown for that defensive call. Stewart does not belong in a single high look

If Brown doesn't allow that long touchdown, does anyone complain about his play today? Probably not

I do actually remember yelling at my TV for Chykie's soft coverage on underneath routes multiple times and also when Tate dropped that pass on 3rd down and Chykie didn't even know where the ball was when it arrived. I know what you mean about the Green bomb really compiling all the Chykie hate but I was steamed at him well before that play.

Stewart was definitely late to the party

I know he allowed a handful of completions, but a lot of it was just underneath passes that ended up with field goals. You cannot very upset with that for how much he covered Green

I just think it's unacceptable for the defense to be this soft considering all of the resources we've put into it.

At first I thought Stewart would be fine at free safety especially single high but he just isn't comfortable there at all. He's definitely a strong safety at best

I beat this drum all offseason, but he's a fine two high safety, but do not count on him for a single high look

Doesn't mean a player wants that role

I mean neither of us know the reasoning for sure but signs point to just a general lack of interest on our end a lot more so then us going after Flowers and him not liking the role he would have to play here. Like I said he would play nearly every defensive snap and get to cover the other team's best wr depending on which side they line up.. sounds like a pretty good gig to me.

I think was just a case of "We like our guys" . Chykie Brown is the defensive Tandon Doss, spoiler alert on how that turned out when we "Liked our guys" at wr last year.

The Ravens were one of the few teams teams to show interest and actually contact his agent, but again, a player has to want to take that third corner role, which is a big change from being the number one

You obviously don't realize that we're quite good at the positions we've invested in. Yes, we've invested six high picks in defense. Guess what? It was all ILB, interior DL, and S. Those position groups played well today.

That is my thing. If we'd gone offense in the draft, if we'd kind of ignored the defense, you can make a case for it.

At some point you just have to admit it is coaching. And you have to begin with your DC.

No they don't have one job. They have two. Get off the field so the offense has more attempts than the opposition. They failed miserably at that job.

It is much easier to defend the smaller field once they are in your red zone (or just outside of it). Way less field to cover. While they did well to hold them to FGs they were aided by some poop play calling by Hue Jackson. And let's keep in mind this is Dalton we're talking about - not exactly elite material.

You gotta be kidding me. The offense obviously didn't want any attempts, they didn't wanna score in that first half, maybe that's why Joe pulled that stunt. The defense and Pees bend but don't break defense saved the Ravens from an epic blowout and embarrassment. Their job is to limit what the offense can do, and they did that job for the entire game. A lot of this stuff and complaints about Pees and the defense ignores basic football strategy. The offense screwed this one up, big time.

Personally, I could care less if the Ravens give up 1000 yards if they only give up a couple field goals. The offense had plenty of opportunities, but drops killed them

The defense forced one punt in the entire 1st half of play. They forced zero turnovers. They got zero sacks. They got any kind of pressure on the QB zero times in the entire 1st half of play.

Did the offense do better in the first half? No.

But neither unit showed up to play until the 3rd.

Well...I think Elam had a relatively good game, but Stewart was rather eh. I thought Stewart played well as a SS when he was in that role. He actually looked pretty good. Problem is, we have a bevy of SS with no true FS. We need to get Brooks and Hill a chance to start like tomorrow.

If they realized it, they wouldn't have something to complain about

*see above. That is not good defense.

When you're playing with Brown at CB and Stewart at FS, you can only expect so much. People are acting like this was a full strength unit

We also picked up some FAs for defense as well. It wasn't just draft picks. But getting back to what we invested, we picked the exact same 3 positions with the first 3 picks the last 2 years. Perhaps, we should have bent that BPA thing just a tad and picked up some other positions. Then maybe we'd have an actual good defense instead of 3 good positions. Just sayin'.

And you act like this is the first season our defense has been lackluster. It's been this way ever since Pees came here so it really isnt' illogical or a stretch to place blame there.

Elam played pretty well. I was really impressed by his play this game. I feel pretty good about him improving and becoming the player we drafted him to be. I'm pretty excited to see him continue to improve. Not happy about Juszczyk having no role on offense other than blocking. And we do need a true #1 WR. It's time to draft one. We should be able to sign Torrey to a friendly deal at the very least. This is good news!

There was reports that The Ravens were interested in Flowers along with The Patriots, Vikings, and 49ers but he chose The Chargers instead.

When you're playing with receivers that drop 7 well placed passes in a game you can only expect so much right?

Let's use our judgmental sticks evenly at least.

There's quite a bit of time to wait for Hill's eligibility. Knowing Harbs, Stewart would have to look Huff-like for Brooks to get a chance like Elam did last season.
