Week 1 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

2,718 posts in this topic

It's a bad idea to throw the ball 60 times when you don't have a true #1WR.

I still like our receiving corp and am very optimistic for the rest of the season. I think it was just poor execution that bit us today.

Honestly Kubiak called a good game; the players didn't execute.

62 passes 19 carries When all the bengals had on the scoreboard were field goals. I don't think it was good game called by Kubiak even though he is a good OC.

I hated this game. Not only because we lost or becaue we played like dog shht or because of the drops or missed kick (opportunity) or bad tackling. I hated this game because it, once again, hid the real foul in our team. The "elite" "franchise" QB. It was like watching 2013 all over again. Flacco was a one-hit-wonder. He will never be a QB who can carry a team. Rather the opposite, he needs a team who can carry him. Please don't get me started on the second half, because we shouldn't have been in that spot in the firs place. Bottom line, Flacco will give us some mediocre years and with Tyrods contract ending it's about time to start looking for some young QBs who we could morph into starters.

We weren't getting blown out. We could have ran the ball plenty. Especially in the first half. We threw the ball way to much. Especially since we were running the ball good. Pierce may have lost his job though.

It seems like Pierce always disappoints when he's given a big chance

We were playing from behind pretty much all game so you are have a heavy passing attack.

we were down by 15 points, and we started passing from the 2nd Q on.We had control of the game once we had our first touch down. All I would like to see is a little more run mixed with those passes.

Even after all those dropped passes, he put us in a position to win with and 80 yard TD to smith. Then the defense collapsed, as usual. Funny how you forget that part.

LOL Chykie Brown covering AJ Green with no adequete safety help...

Lol at our piss poor pass rush. Please trade loserville and suggs for real cb if they are going to stay in bed and not do jack. Looks like suggs is failing at ball so hard university.

The only positive i saw was our interior... all the big plays came off the edges and in the secondary.

Flacco had one bad throw.

The O-line had one bad series.

The WRs had a horrendous 1st Half.

What game were you watching that you think this loss is on Joe?

To be fair, if the receivers had actually caught some of those passes, he might have called for a run on the very next play.

I don't care what anyone say's.We out played them today. We were the better team today. We let missed field goals and uncontested drops beat us.We left so many plays out on that field.I don't even know how to feel about this game right now...

As if he didn't have the rest of the game to do so? Like I said I think we averaged 4.7 a run, why stop? We would have tired their D out even more by doing so while wasting time.

There absolutely needs to be better pass rush. What we got today was unacceptable.

That is by far the most unacceptable aspect of the game today

Yep, same team as last year. Slow starting offense. Below average WRs. No balance in the offense. Bend don't break defense is just a fancy name for a bad defense. Suggs and Doom need to be situational players....situated on the bench! Let the young guys get the bulk of the playing time. McPhee should be starting. So much for all the hype of the preseason! This team no better than last year's. At best 8 wins, no post season.

Lesson to be learned. Run the ball in the 1st half no matter what the score may be. And throw most passes to our TEs. And remove any option routes from our playbook until our WRs/TEs finally get on the same page as our QB with their reads.

It seems to be the only way to get this offense going.

Left a lot of points on the field today... I'm optimistic the offense will click though . Save for AJ Green being AJ green , we dominated the second half. Nice adjustments at half time.

It was bad and we still almost pulled off a win. Where was the safety on the Green play? chykie Brown... One on one?

Stewart showed up but then failed to make the tackle

Why is juan castillo still coaching our line??????????  He has taken a 15+year dominant line and destroyed them!!! Flacco only had 1-2 seconds all game to throw the damn ball!! For the love of God, send castillo and his bullspit scheme blocking to the unemployment line!!!

On a separate note, Brown (Corner) wouldn't start on any nationally ranked highschool team, but yet we keep playing him!!  Why???  Also, I agree that Webb is a great corner when he's healthy, but when was the last time he was healthy? He plays half a season at best, and yet we keep him around instead of going after a top 10 corner!!!

    1.  Brown gets burned every down. Why do play him? Some rookie corners in preseason

looked 10 times better than him, and we sat them on the bench! Why

    2.  Even if he has a play on the ball, he doesn't turn his head around to make the play

    3.  He plays 15 yards off of whatever receiver he's covering, so at the very least he gives up a

        10 yard play!

    4.  Why didn't the "all knowing" arogant ozzie newsome go after some corners in the draft? If

we have some, why was brown starting today?  Is he blackmailing ozzie newsome about

something in return for a starting position???

    5.  What happened to our pass rush?  I mean.....C'mon...It was Dalton... Not Brady or Manning!!

    6.  What is going to take for us to replace castillo? Ravens line is not built for scheme blocking!!

Give it up already and let them do what they do best!

These are not rhetorical questions..... Please answer me!!  Why is brown still playing?  Why does castillo still have a job?

For whatever it's worth, this has completely ruined my week!!  And no, I do not gamble, so thats not the reason!  I always thought of myself as a Ravens SuperFan, but I don't how much more of brown, castillo, and newsome, I can take!   Definitely cannot take another full season of this crap!  And next week we play the squealers?  Oh yeah...I'm sure brown will do a bang up job against antonio brown.  This game as well ozzie newsome, brown, and castillo are an absolute joke!  However, trust me when I say that ravens fans didn't find it very funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

So true. This offense is designed off establishing the run. I don't get it. Also wish we had better quick passes toward the end of the game

Im tired of the "bend but dont break" mentality, vause th3 D always ends up breaking. With sizzless and dumervil, we end up with ZERO sacks. And where is yhe fire and intensity of the D it looks like the D dont buy into Pees.

Wish flacco called for protection on that blitz with the last play.

That's Flacco's biggest weakness imo.
