PFT Darin Gantt at it again!

You can't not have a weak heart or poor resolve to be a Ravens Fan, I am proud of my team. It seems like every fool on the Internet can say whatever they want. Don't give them the clicks.

I did some research and apparently he has a Panthers blog. So I'm assuming he's a Panthers fan? Not sure how the Panthers have anything against the Ravens. Either way, let the haters hate............and we typically do well when that happens.

So this is what sports journalism (I use that term loosely) has come to. What a disgusting article, just a short hit of pure venom. PFT should be embarrassed that they released that article.

I had no problem with his other Rice articles, but this one is just pathetic. He has a valid point (and only the purist homers would outright reject that claim), but he expressed it in a very immature and unprofessional manner. Contrary to how most columnists in the modern media write, it is possible to have a controversial opinion and share it in a professional manner. Unfortunately, a great many sports columnists resort to this sort of shoddy writing.

EDIT: And yeah, get thick skin and stop crying, people. I thought we in Baltimore prided ourselves on toughness?

That guy is a despicable piece of constipated and smelly faeces from a diseased and dying orangutan. As low life as a blogger can ever get imho.

Not our fault that the Panthers released him....

I really gotta stop reading the comments after any news article regarding Ray Lewis.

Ditto!  It is so sad that there will never be a shortage of ignorance and stupidity in this world when it is so easily remedied with a little knowledge!

Let me say this. The reason I posted the status update I did was because I wasn't upset that it was written, it was how it was so blatantly biased. Just like how some on that site choose not to use the term Redskins, what that article did was just push whatever agenda they have. Just like how they choose not to say the Redskins to push the political correct agenda, Gantt was doing nothing but pushing his agenda against the Ravens.

Now as a fellow sportswriter, one thing I know is to not show any biased or try to push some kind of agenda with your article. It's why I choose not to write about the Ravens and focus more on the 31 other teams because I would be pretty biased toward anything regarding the Ravens. What agenda he has against the Ravens, I don't know. As a writer, you don't use your article to push any kind of agenda, sad PFT/NBC allows it to happen.

PFT has such low standards of professionalism, we're talking subterranean here.

And there's no point in refuting his "editorial" because PFT will probably delete your comment even if it doesn't violate their ToS.

They've become quite tyrant in their censorship of any dissenting view.

I've found somehow a lack of intelligence is associated with still believing Ray Lewis is guilty of murder. I wonder why...

Hey, I'm sure Ray would probably have a good laugh if he saw that. Pft is a joke anyway, Mike Florio is the biggest joke of them all. Funny how most of the people who get paid to write about football, know NOTHING about it.

This loser Gant isn't worth another second of my time. Moreover, I'd love to see him walk into M&T spewing that garbage sometime this year...oh wait..guys like that are only tough behind a keyboard.

The worst part about this article is that, while Joan Rivers and Robin Williams are dead, this writer gets to continue to live his happy life.  Life is unfair.

I hate to say it but I think that statue is going to be a regular target for vandalism.

:(

They'd be really stupid to try that in this city of all places.

It seems that you don't know what a column or an editorial is. As a sportswriter, you should know what opinion writing is. This is coming from another sportswriter. ;)

Granted, it was a bad editorial. Unprofessional and poorly developed.

When this imbecile insults the entire fanbase of the Ravens, for erecting Ray Lewis' (potentially the best MLB in history and perhaps the best defensive player ever) statue, it just tells you this is deeper than football. My guess is he was turned away from one of our press conferences for poor hygiene or perhaps he got smacked around in a local bar while intoxicated....

I would have posted it as well,  but only to keep Baltimoreans from giving them their "click count".  It's one thing to dislike a team or organization, but when you insult an entire fanbase, you need to apologize.  I think J.O. knows what an opinion piece is, or even an editorial...  which, by the way, I know to be a personal opinion of an event or news topic...  That being said... IF I WERE ANTI-RAY LEWIS, which I am not...  (just for the record)...  I would write about why I don't like him, without the vulgarity that he exhibited...  I wouldn't ridicule an entire city.

I actually used to post quite a few insightful and objective thoughts related to many teams on there as recently as a year ago. When I would refresh the page, 90% of my posts would be deleted, yet any trolling comment regardless of who it was directed at would always remain. I think that says it all about that site and who they are aiming to please.

You're post is too long.  I'm going to go read some PFT reports now.

I was half tempted to want to comment on that article there, but in order to do so, I would have to register to that site. Needless to say, I didn't even bother. We live in a harsh reality when it comes to changing someones opinion on certain aspects of life. And that reality is... nobody ever makes a "genuine" change in opinion or in life unless they want to make it for themselves. No amount of words, or brilliant put together post will change anyones mind on this.

But for all us Ravens fans who actually know what Ray means to football, and to the community, and even a vast amount of regular people across the world who actually have been touched in one way or another by Rays beliefs, or words, or mentality about certain things. Im saying this for us that know the situation under the surface local writers are the only ones who techinically have the most information and follow their team more closely, to be able to base an opinion. Its not about whatever crime either Ray committed... to me, the most important thing, is how in the face of adversity, and in the face of a mistake (which EVERY single one of us make in one form or fashion), how they bounce back, how they learn from their mistake, and how they both try to touch the lives of so many people who believe in THEM, in order to help others learn from their mistakes. And they don't make them again. To me, what makes Ray who he is, is who he is today because of all of it. An iconic football player who will always go down in the conversation of greatest linebacker to ever step on the field, and even player in general regardless of position, but also who he is as a man, as a father.

Disappointing article. But that's national media for you. take the little bit they know about a situation, and expect to get a reaction by writing ..... just horrible, un-ethical stuff. All i'll do... is pray for him, and anyone else on that board just writing out of hatred or... whatever they are dealing with.
