2014-15 Predictions

10 posts in this topic

Who's in the playoffs & who's out? Season Awards. Division winners. Super Bowl matchup. Bold predictions.....

AFC:

1. New England

2. Denver

3. Indy

4. Baltimore

5. San Diego

6. Pittsburgh

I'm buying the moves Denver and NE made to improve their D this season. I think Gronk stays heathy for the entire year (should be in the bold predictions, right?) Denver's schedule is too tough to beat NE out for that 1 seed. Pittsburgh just sneaks in to beat the Bengals for that final spot just to lose in round 1 for them.

NFC:

1. Seattle

2. Green Bay

3. New Orleans

4. Washington

5. Lions

6. Tampa Bay

Packers are the most dangerous team in the NFC this season IMO. I think they're being severely over looked. They're the only team in the NFC who can go into either New Orleans or Seattle and beat them. I love the changes to their D this year and they still have the best QB in the world on their team. Lions and Buccs are my two surprise teams. I think Suh has a DPOY caliber year and their offense becomes much more efficient. Buccs have a top 5 D this season and Lovie leads them to a 10-6 record. A new team wins the NFC east every season. I'm expecting a lot of regression from Philly. Rg3 gets it together. 9-7 wins this division.

Teams that were in the hunt:

AFC- Cincy, Jets

NFC- Chicago, Arizona, Panthers,Cowboys(since they're always close)

MVP: Aaron Rodgers

OPOY: ^

DPOY: Robert Quinn

OROY: Brandin Cooks

DROY: Jadeveon Clowney

Coach of the year: Pete Carrol

Super Bowl scenerio homer: Ravens beat Packers

Super Bowl scenerio 2: Packers beat Patriots

Super Bowl scenerio 3: Broncos beat Packers

Bold predictions:

AP rushes for 2,000 yards again.

Robert Quinn breaks the sack record.

Browns pick #1 & #6 overall (Bills)

Patriots finish with the #2 overall defense in PPG.

Joe Flacco makes the ProBowl and "experts" say "he has finally figured it out"

I also forgot to say this but I think the Vikings are a serious candidate to be a surprise team whenever Bridgewater comes in.

They have a lot of talent of both sides of the ball and now have the coaching to compliment it.

A few have put some of my upsets in there. But on the whole I see so many people going chalk which never happens....

AFC:

1. Denver

2. Baltimore

3. New England

4. Tennessee

5. NY jets

6. Pittsburgh

AFC championship baltimore loses to New England

NFC:

1. New Orleans

2. Minnesota

3. Seattle

4. NY giants

5. Green Bay

6. Tampa bay

NFC championship New Orleans over Green Bay

Super Bowl New England over Green Bay

Out from last year : San Diego, cincinnati, Kansas City, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Carolina

In: Tennessee, Pittsburgh, jets, baltimore, Minnesota, giants, Tampa.

Opoy: Drew brees

Dpoy: lavante David

Oroy: Blake bottles

Droy: Ryan shazier

Happy with my Minnesota and Tennessee picks. Both teams looked solid with Indy looking very beatable for the division. The vikes look designed to beat the pass happy division opponents as well.

My giants pick is looking bad. Eli and all the pass catchers look completely lost like they are stillin the pre season. I still think Philly is vulnerable but the rest of their division probably can't capitalize.

AFC:

1. Patriots

2. Ravens

3. Broncos

4. Colts

5. Steelers

6. Jets

Bengals take a step back, so do the Chargers. Jets I think get in at the last wild card spot at 9-7. Broncos beat the Jets in the WC, they come to us in the divisional round this time around. Colts head to New England after beating the Steelers. Patriots top the Colts, we beat the Broncos setting up another AFC Championship Game between the Patriots & Ravens.

AFC Champions: New England Patriots

NFC:

1. Seahawks

2. Saints

3. Packers

4. Eagles

5. 49ers

6. Bears

49ers continue their success under Jim and get the 5th seed. Bears sneak in for the sixth seed. Packers beat the Bears, 49ers over the Eagles. Setting up a 49ers-Seahawks Divisional Round matchup, Green Bay heads to New Orleans. That Packers D is suspect, Saints roll over the Pack setting up a Saints/Seahawks NFC Championship Game.

NFC Champions: Seattle Seahawks

Super Bowl 49: Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots. No team has repeated since the New England Patriots, and the Patriots are no match for the Seahawks defense. First Repeat Super Bowl Champions in over an decade.

Seahawks 34

Patriots 17

I also just wanna say I believe the Jaguars make huge leaps this year. I love what they're building down there. Another year before I put them in legit playoff contention but if Bortles pans out they could be a force

At the 1/4 point of season thought I would revisit my picks...I think it's safe to make some good assumptions how this could turn out:

AFC:

1. San Diego - They are playing solid on both sides of the ball.  Could be Rivers most consistent performance ever.  I think they have what it takes to take down the Broncos.

2. Baltimore - The offense is even better than I expected.  They will continue to get better and will beat out the Bengals late in the year.

3. Houston - Tough predicting this with Fitzpatrick at QB, but they have the defense to slow down Luck and their ability to run the ball, they are just physically tougher than Indy.

4. New England - Their offensive line is a shambles this year, similar to Baltimore's last year, however no one else in the East is any good either, I still think New England has enough to win this sad division.

5. Denver - They will still be very good, with San Diego winning the division they will be a very dangerous 5 seed... Blowing out New England in the wild card week.

6. Cincinnati - Another dangerous wildcard team here.  I see Dalton finally getting a playoff win here over Houston.

AFC Championship Baltimore defeats Cincinnati... I think these will end up the two best teams in the AFC.

NFC:

1. Arizona - I say they keep rolling and win a dog fight with Seattle for the West, a huge win forcing Seattle to the road.

2. New Orleans - They've struggled so far, but they could rack up some wins still in a poor looking division.

3. Green Bay - Relax

4. NY Giants - Back from the dead, the Eagles are a mirage, Couglin and Eli do it again.  Making the playoffs from no where.

5. Seattle - Another dominant wild card team, they will stomp out the Giants.

6. Minnesota - I'm sticking with the Vikings making the playoffs behind Teddy and Zimmer.  Still not trusting Detroit to stay consistent.  I think they will be one and done vs Green Bay though.

NFC Championship - Green Bay over Seattle - Forced to play on the road Green Bay gets revenge with a much better game plan.

Super Bowl - Baltimore defeats Green Bay
