Week 1 Discussion(Other Teams)

Ladies & Gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages. Thursday Night, the NFL proudly brings to you..... the epic rematch between the Packers and the defending Super Bowl Champions... Seattle Seahawks. We all know what happened last time but this is 2014 meaning, flag football!

Let's hope the NFL doesn't kill the regular season with constant penalties... anyway let's see what week one has to offer.

Saints vs Falcons: Panthers lost Jordan Gross and Steve Smith this off-season. Meaning if the Panthers have the expected drop most think they will have, this game will go a long way toward crowning the 2014 NFC South Champion.

Redskins vs Texans: Jadeveon Clowney meet RG3. Clowney has looked like the number one pick all preseason, but... Ryan Fitzpatrick? Redskins have the obvious edge in the QB battle but considering these two teams held the top two picks in 2014, they can only move down the draft board.

Patriots vs Dolphins: Same old, same old. Tom Brady, Belichick this. In Miami, a whole new offensive line with Pouncey potentially out for this one. Tannehill will see heavy pressure all day in this one.

Jaguars vs Eagles: The Chargers broke the streak last year by failing to win the Super Bowl after being the first team to play the Eagles in Philly. We will go another year with that happening since the Jaguars are nowhere close to winning a Super Bowl.

49ers vs Cowboys: Cowboys caught a break with Aldon Smith being suspended 9 games. Romo has to feel happy about that. Cowboys look to extend their streak in 2014 of 4 straight years of finishing 8-8 under Jason Garrett.

Colts @ Broncos: Luck-Manning II, that is all we will hear leading up to the first SNF game of the season.

AFC North:

Browns vs Steelers: Alright the game we have been waiting for, Johnny Manziel stepping foot on the field... oh wait he's not the starter? Crap, there goes everything I was going to write about this game. Let's hope Brian Hoyer can be decent and able to out wit Big Ben. I have been saying Browns over Steelers as my week one upset, I'm sticking to it. Should be another 3 way battle in the North so let's hope the Browns pull this off to take the Steelers to 0-1 in divisional games.

JO - you mean Johnny Clipboard stepping foot on the sidelines. He'll get a lot of practice balancing that clipboard under his chin while flashing the money signs to the fans as they roar with excitement. Then there's the occasional finger flipped to the other team...can't wait.

Derek Carr has been (smartly) named the Raiders week 1 starter.

I wonder how many "hey, that dude's name sounds exactly like the word for automobile"-puns the brilliant writers at NFL.COM and ESPN can throw at us. My guess is something between alot and TOO MANY!

Man I can't wait for that Bengal ravens game. Just wish I knew their starters...

It's easy enough to figure out. Just go to their web site and check the depth chart. It has all the starters listed. Only thing you can't get is injuries.

Thus the circle of life is complete.....

Matt Schaub took David Carr's job in Houston

Derek Carr took Matt Schaub's job in Oakland.

Great way to start out the season. Legion of Boom vs the Pack Attack.

I'm going to watch at least part of the Tursday game to see how the refs are with the illegal contact penalties.  Also I wanna watch some football!

I was thinking about bringing back my version of QBs on Facebook and the only thing Derek Carr being the starter means for me is more CAR JOKES!

I almost wanted to go with the Raiders but the Jets are home, Raiders traveling to the East Coast, no way they win.

PFT has an article up on Walter Thurmond saying that Calvin Johnson has some weaknesses. Elam called him old and slow before our MNF game against the Lions, worked out well. Though PFT neglects that completely. They wrote talking trash about Johnson hasn't worked out for teams in the past, most recently the Cowboys.... in 2011.

Just keep ignoring the Ravens... the way we like it.

Anyone else surprised by the amount of teams placing guys on the IR return list? Did something change that I missed? Some of the guys on this list is surprising, like a rookie LB from the Saints. I just don't get it.

Anyone watch the Seahawks America's Game? Thought it was better than ours honestly (last year, not the flawless 2000 one).

Well...... the ref for the game tonight is John Parry. This is significant because his crew called the most defensive holding and pass interference calls in the preseason. His crew also tied for the most defensive holding and pass interference calls in 2013.

Johnson had a pretty good game...

Finally got my Game Pass subscription after riding the trial period for a while. Looking forward to catching the opener tonight. I'm rolling with the Seahawks in what should have been the situation for us last season.

The Packers will win this. The best way to beat the Seattle D is run at them. Lacy setting up the pass for Rodgers and all his weapons? I like their chances.

Can't go against Seahawks at home.. What like 15-1 over last two seasons??? Ridiculous

We had a long undefeated streak at home also. Streaks end. Deal with it!

Lol... Thing is our team got weaker overall while Seattle is still on the rise

I just need a quick off topic opinion from ravens fans, is there any significant reason why the ravens can't beat the bengals at home this week? any injuries or worries about the bengals threats? thanks.

My main concern is pierce doesn't step up and run game is flat which causes us to become one dimensional which in that case we could still win

Also, that our run d has problems with Gio which I don't see shifty type backs being as big of a problem for us anymore with the speed we have on D now
