Running Cut Thread (Ravens)

You know I'd be happy with this. I projected him on my 53 with Shipley and Jensen out.

He really improved.  OT is said to be a hot commodity on the waiver wire so we may opt to play it safe and keep him around, at least for now.

He was one of the most improved players I saw on the field. He was great at OTAs then fell off when the pads came on then looked great again come the preseason after having a very mixed game 1.

Looking over what's left...

Parker Graham, Jamie Meder, and Sammy Seamster seem like obvious cuts at this point.  That leaves you with 5 more to go which get a little tougher.

I wouldn't mind cutting Aiken, whom I feel could last on the waiver wire. Same with Butler. I think we could cut Aiken, Butler, and Orr and it's unlikely they would get signed. Then we could trade Deonte or Bynes if those are players we're trying to move.

Yes

thanks. He didn't farewell in preseason but he still so versatile and could be usesful on practice squad.

Down goes Tramain Jacobs. 6 more.

I like him. Think he'll clear waivers and make the PS? I think he will. He wasn't great as a CB. Decent but needs development.

Then Im going to guess Cox makes the team

I had him making the 53 with our CB corps consisting of Webb, Smith, Jackson, Brown, Franks and Cox

Yeah I think he will.  It was telling that he never got much playing time with the 1st and 2nd teams with all of our injuries.

i read that jensen was kept on the active list last year so that he could practice with the team. what does the practice aqua players do? i assumed they practiced with the team as well.

No way urschel is cut as a 5th round pick at a position of need. He would be claimed on waivers instantly IMO.

I know. I'm just saying Urschel has shown improvement.

Not really. He was awful. I gotta say, I called that one. Still not sure about Hurst but Shipley needed to go. I can rest peacefully now.

I agree, Shipley got abused on our o-line.

I remember when we had  wide receiver Justin Harper on practice and there was article detailing how Justin Harper would basically help our cornerbacks   to get better prepared to face Brandon Marshall. I would say practice squad players at times are asked to emulated others player or enact what certain players from other teams do to help better prepare the team , For example if we facing   a 6'6" tight end like  Martellus Bennett and we have 6'6' tight end on practice squad with simliar type speed and etc then  most likely the tight end is going to be asked  to help our defensive players in preparation before they actually go up against Bennett.

The practice squad tight end will most likely be asked to watch film of Martellus Bennett and try to actually do everything he does on the field.

Can Ryan Jensen be placed on practice squad?

Yes.  He is open for the "plucking" on the waiver wire starting tonight @ 6 PM.  If after 24 hours he is not picked up by another team, he can be placed on the PS.  Otherwise known as "clearing waivers"

The real question is if we want him on the PS or if we can get better. I'd imagine we would considering he's a draft pick that we were supposedly excited about but let's face the reality: it ultimately doesn't matter. I'll be waiting to see if we put him on the PS.
