Running Cut Thread (Ravens)

I wonder what this says about Lorenzo. I guess he isn't ready yet.

Yeah, I don't think it says anything about Lorenzo ... I think it says that Pierce is a game-time decision at best and is likely not going to be used much or may even be deactivated. Teams want 3 RBs suited up, because if one gets hurt in-game, they don't want to run with only 1.

If I had to guess I would say they are worried about Pierce. I think he was on the injury report this week. If he can't go or is limited, we would need another back. I really like Toussaint. I hope he gets an opportunity.

That's how I feel. I think this is a way of saying "Yeah...we don't know about Pierce. Sounds iffy. Let's bring Toussaint up. We need someone for depth in case someone goes down. Can't go in with two RB unless you want Taylor or Juszcyzk in the backfield...lol." I hope Lorenzo gets a chance to run the rock if Pierce is inactive. I would love to see some hard goal-line punches!

Yeah I love how hard LT made people work to bring him down in college and the preseason. A couple of measty two-yard plays to punch in a first down or touchdown could be just what the doctor ordered.

I have to be honest, though, and I am guessing the Ravens share this sentiment: I fear he could be easy to fumble because of how he runs. He runs a bit more upright than I'd like, and that can make it easier for some defensive players to take the ball away. He will need to improve on that. He needs to lower himself more. But I am very optimistic of his future.

Not exactly a "cut", but Josh Bynes was just signed off of our practice squad by the Lions. Austin just poached us. Lol.

Darn.

Great signing for them, though. And maybe Bynes gets a chance to play. Good for him.

I can definitely see it with Tulloch tearing his ACL yesterday.

Per Wilson: resigned DT and re-cut Fitz. Kid has to feel like a ping pong ball.

Don't you get the league minimum when you're on the active roster and then a significantly smaller salary on the PS. If so it might make it tolerable to keep switching and cashing in on some bigger checks if you're on the PS.

You get paid for three weeks as if you're on the active roster regardless once you're activated from the PS. We're essentially forced to give him three weeks of active roster pay. So yeah, he's making out here.

Yeah i wouldn't mind getting cut and signed again every three weeks if i were a fringe player.

Shoot, saw Guy was cut yesterday and immediately looked him up on Colts and Chargers boards and saw that fans of both squads really liked him. Good sign seeing as how I never heard of him. Good size and solid depth. I'm a fan of this signing.

Cutting Deonte again actually has me a little excited about the potential of Aiken. We've seen and heard about Deonte's speed for a few years now but we exposed him to the waiver wire again. But Aiken is a guy they don't want to expose and he looked good in the preseason.

Aiken has been around the nfl....I dont see anything special there. What I do see is Jacoby Jones dropping everything thrown to him. Idk why the coaches keep him in there. Why haven't we given Thompson a chance to do his job? Let me guess coach doesn't like his attitude...

The thing about the NFL is players don't stay the same. Just because he has bounced around the league doesn't mean that he hasn't improved. I see a guy who makes tough catches when needed. He may be a player we will be grateful for if there are anymore significant injuries.

Welp...

Ravens cut wide receiver Deonte Thompson, according to a source

I wouldn't be surprised to see Deonte Thomson surface in Cleveland or Detroit. Detroit signed Josh Bynes and recent added CB, Danny Gorrer (remember him?). Also,I wouldn't be surprised if John Simon got picked from the PS by some team next.

Here we go again...

Ravens re-signed Deonte Thompson to practice squad, according to a source

The team must have informed him they were going to sign him back. If not, he must be going crazy right about now. I think Prescott Burgess holds the record. I wonder if Deonte is going to break that
