Running Cut Thread (Ravens)

It's definitely about salary, but I'd rather bite the bullet and guarantee the salary all year since it looks like Webb is out tomorrow.

If Webb is out, I'd say that means they have more confidence in our safeties filling nickel role over cox seeing time

Ozzie's always been a gambler. We'll see if it pays off this time.

Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic. I believe in Chykie and Asa, but I can't say for sure how confident I am in them against this offense. Also, the coaches must be confident in Levine and Brooks to be able to play multiple roles.

It could've been that the FO heard rumors of someone trying steal Toussaint from the PS. Cox is the one to go because he wasn't picked up until we did 2 weeks ago, and based off that it's a pretty safe assumption that no other team is targeting him.

Actually more than one AFC south team wanted him ,when the ravens cut him the first time but he decided to come back.

Well then he's loyal. Either way, if you're not picked up on the 1st cut, you're probably not going to be picked up on the 2nd one a few days later - whether it's his decision or just lack of interest. The Ravens know they aren't gambling much by making him the unofficial 54th member of the team.

If I recall correctly, I believe that we can cut Toussaint but we would have to pay him three weeks of active pay. That's what comes to my mind anyway.

I also agree with hawkprey. Someone probably wanted him. I think Cox will stick around.

I believe that's only if you sign someone off of someone else's practice squad.  I'm not 100% positive about that, but I believe that to be the case.

Yeah that could be true. I guess we both need to look into it. I'm honestly a little iffy on it but we'll see.

Cut the entire WR group. We win this game if one or two of those 5-6 drops don't occur.

What was up with Steve?  Ive come to expect Torrey dropping a pass that hits both of his hands as well as Jacoby, but not Steve Smith.

I know man, I am speechless there. But hey, that TD was classic Steve Smith. Just one game, so let's just call it an anomaly for now

Cut em all dammit. Get rid of Pees, Flacco, Poe, the statue...burn it all to the ground!!

Haha. To me, the two places we are truly weak are FS and CB2, everything else can and will be fixed (barring injury). Well will return and maybe the light switch flips on for Brooks but that FS spot is the one that's going to haunt us all year. I don't think it will break our backs, but it will haunt us.

Baltimore is the anomaly! No matter who it is, they come here and can't catch. It's uncanny.

I love the fact that he waved the defender TO him just to stiff arm him and throw him to the ground.

EPIC.

I gotta get this guys jersey....

Steve dropped more passes in this game then he has in full seasons. I would give him the benefit of the doubt after redeeming himself in the second half.

Not complaining, but how did they not flag Smitty for throwing that guy down by his facemask?  That is what he did, right?

Not tryna make excuses for Smith but he is with a new quarterback, after playing with the same qb for a while you get used to the way the ball comes out and hits your hands.  Doesn't help that Flacco has a rocket arm as well.  But I'm almost certain he will be better as the season progresses, he still had a good game.

I agree. He still had no problem getting open all day long. Still finishes as the ravens leading receiver.

Then cut Flacco as well. We get 3 at half, Cinci doesn't go for 2. Therefore we can kick a FG at the end to win.

Then cut the defense too, since they once again choked away the lead Flacco delivered them.

Let's just trade the entire team for draft picks and start over with all rookies.
