Wow Stewart just play man. This is going to be your first start with us and you start out by poking AJ Green. I hope you can back up what you say or you'll get the Huff treatment. I can see if you were Jairus Byrd or Ed Reed talking like this but not a first time FS finally getting a chance to start talking like you're an all-pro or HOF type FS.

Honestly I don't even know what he said yet.... but c'mon we're the freakin Ravens. When did we get soft and start hating this stuff?

It's very VERY stupid.... Yes. But to take a slight spin on the common phrase... speak loudly and carry the big stick man. If it gets him amped up to play better then Im all for it. If he gets torched or looks bad then he's an idiot.

I reserve judgment.

In recent news, Darian Stewart said he doesn't consider AJ Green a challenge and said he's just one guy.

He's going to learn real fast...

Are you scared?  Lol!  We said the same thing about Elam when he called Megatron "old."  These boards lit up with cats saying...Shhhhhhh!!!  Be quiet!  Don't say that!  Smh!  Then, Elam went out there and had a pretty decent game with an INT!  These are athletes man!  And if they don't believe in their own skills and abilities then I don't want them on my team!  I'm at the point now that whenever our guys say something about their own skills in reference to another player's; that I'm taking the mindset of Shannan Sharpe when he said; "Yeah we said it!  Whatever they said...we said...We said it!"  Just go out there and back it up now!

Let's go Ravens!!!

My Preview:

Though we obviously had big struggles last year, we were still able to overcome the Bengals 20-17 at M&T Bank Stadium in overtime. Obviously it wasn't a pretty victory (and the Bengals beat us 34-17 to close the season later on), but we are a different team than last year. Last year was a year for rebuilding, and this is a year for returning to form.

I don't know how much more talented the Bengals will be this year than they were last year, but I do know the Ravens will kick it up a notch. Flacco will look comfortable and poised under Gary Kubiak's new system, throwing for solid yardage and probably a couple touchdowns. The running game might not be anything great at first, but it will be at least decent again. Justin Tucker will stay reliable, and the defense will do enough for us to win. The Ravens are currently 5-1 at season openers, and I expect them to improve that record to 6-1 on Sunday.

Andy Dalton just signed his big contract, but will he live up to it? Unlike Joe Flacco, he often struggles in season openers. Not to mention, he is still 0-3 at Baltimore, and until he improves his consistency, I don't see that changing anytime soon. I don't think this game could really be a blowout on either side, but I do believe the Ravens will return to the postseason this year, and it all starts with a win against last year's division champions.

Ravens 27, Bengals 20

Considering that AJ Green absolutely owns the Ravens safeties, yes, I'm a little irked that he said this.

As for Calvin Johnson, Elam didn't have to cover him, but if last year is any hint, Stewart may have to cover Green. Anyone remember AJ just blowing past Elam? Anyway, Calvin Johnson kinda had a really big game if you didn't notice.

By the way, Sharpe could back up what he said. Stewart probably won't be on the field enough to do that since he seems to get injured quite a bit

By "absolutely owns" , you mean one game? He had one game of 8/151 where he had one play for 51 yards so basically 7 for 100 but the other game he was 4/61 with one play being 53 of those yards. I'd hardly call that "owning".

He has been historically good against the safeties in coverage. Just like how Jimmy Smith owns AJ, he owns the safeties

Some of the media and alot of the fans on bengals forums think that the bengals are the better team. That just blows my mind. We're better than them at every position on offense except wr and at every position on defense except safety. Some argue that Atkins is better than Ngata but I think it's wrong to compare the two being that one is a 4-3 dt and the other is a 3-4 dt/nt.But anyway, what other parts of their team is better than ours besides safety and receiver? We're even better than them at every spot on special teams. Then we have the biggest advantage of all when you compare qb's.If it wasn't for Joe's leg being hurt in the detroit game,Andy Dalton would still be win less against the ravens. As long as Jimmy and Webb are both healthy, all of the match ups favor us in this game. The bengals are missing Marvin Jones who came on strong last year and had some big plays against us in that second game so that should help us too. After looking at this game match up for match up I'm thinking it will end up some like 30-10 ravens. If our offense can hurry up and get any type of a lead on the bengals in the first half then it's game over.Andy Dalton has proven over the years that he can do nothing vs our defense and I don't see that changing this game.Neither of these first games two scare me at all. It's our first road game in cleveland that I'm worried about.I'm not sure how comfortable our offense will be on the road vs a division foe who look like they should be tough defensively.September 21st is a long time away though.By then I could be looking back laughing at the fact that I was nervous at this point in the season.I better stop before this gets too long.30-10 RAVENS!!!!

Wait, wut??

I'm a Bengals fan so I'm sure my rebuttal will be ignored or trashed, but you can't obviously believe that the Ravens are better than the Bengals at every position except WR and Safety.

Don't underestimate Cinci. If they had a real QB they'd be the SB favorites easy :P

2013 numbers. How many of those players have you retained? More importantly, you no longer have your brain behind your defense or offense.

And, there is always the main equalizer  - you still have Dalton under Center.

Fixed

HA!

I'm very happy to see us open with the Bengals at Home. Two very good things happened the last time that occurred.

1. Stomp down of 44-13.

2. Lombardi

...here's to history repeating itself!

That was last year, every team has to stake their claim for 2014.

Those numbers also didn't explain why we beat the Bengals at home last year despite 2 flukish deep balls caught off rebounds accounting for 1/3 of their offense.

My personal opinion is that the Ravens offense will start out a bit slow, with the first couple scoring drives stalling with field goals. I expect Joe and the receivers to heat up a bit in the second half though, scoring a couple touchdowns over the course of the game. As far as running the ball goes, I think that Pierce can flourish in Kubiak's system as a power runner and Ray Rice will make a nice pair once he gets back. I'm a bit worried about our defense from what I saw in the preseason, but I think that they can hold the Bengals, as long as we've got Jimmy and Webb for this game to keep AJ Green and co from getting out of hand.

It should be a tight match though; the Bengals are still a very talented team and I could see they'll make a run for the playoffs this season, at least as a wild card if not as the division champs (as unhappy as I would be about that).

My final score prediction: 27-24 Ravens

I think the Bengals' offense is being a little overrated. Their run game wasn't that good last year and they lost pieces on the O-line. Marvin Jones will be out, and Dalton hasn't proven that he can get the ball to anyone other than AJ Green consistently. Really, AJ Green will have to carry them. Hue Jackson wants to get the run game going, but our D-line looks very stout.

First off,as a couple other people have pointed out you're comparing our 2013 teams stats against each other.I'd bet money that neither of our teams will finish the 2014 season exactly the same as they finished 2013 statistically. It just doesn't work that way.Secondly,we are more talented than you THIS YEAR at every position/position group outside of wr and safety.

Offense

Joe Flacco > Andy Dalton

Ray Rice > Gio Bernard

Dennis Pitta > Jermaine Gresham

Owen Daniels > Tyler Eifert

There are question marks on each of our o lines so it's hard to judge who will be better there

Defense

Our front seven > Your front seven(We play in different schemes so it would be unfair to both of our players to judge each player position vs position there. Our olbs have different responsibilities than your olbs, your dt's have different responsibilities than our dt's,ect. But as a whole, our entire front seven is better than your front seven.)

Jimmy Smith > Leon Hall

Lardarius Webb > Terence Newman

Dude you're out of your mind. Also your comparing the wrong guys at cornerback. Leon Hall and Webby are both starting number one corners who excel at moving into the slot in nickel formations. You are just proving that you don't have any idea of the bengal personnel. Also their line is much more solid than ours, there's has been near the top of the league for a while now according to PFF while everyone knows the Ravens have had horrible to mediocre lines the past few seasons. They are so much better at corner too that its so hard to understand why you would even make these statements when you clearly haven't seen the Bengals play much or are just plain biased against them. Rice and Daniels have fallen off and are no where near Gio or Eifert, so far away from them that I have to ask, is this a joke?

Rice has looked far better in preseason this year with a  better offensive line and a competent coordinator. You can't say he's fallen off yet.

As for Eifert, I wouldn't take Owen Daniels over him, but Eifert isn't anything special yet. Trust me, I really wanted him to be a Raven, but he struggled tremendously as a blocker last year and didn't have a big impact as a receiver like you'd expect from someone of his skill set.

You really like to puff up other teams.
