Next Up: Bengals!

He was producing almost 2000 yards from scrimmage each year.If you don't think that was hall of fame worthy,go check out Marshall Faulks numbers.Faulk had alot more td's but the yards in the first five years are almost identical.Rice had 5520 rush yards and 2713 rec yards in his first five seasons.Faulk had 5320 rush yards and 2804 rec yards.Faulk was a first ballot HOFer.

yea i was shocked to see someone on these boards say that, rice was certainly ON PACE for the HOF, last season and this offseason alone may be enough to shatter any chance he had at that, but if he stayed on the same track for another 3 or 4 years i think he makes it in his first 10 years of eligibility.

I don't expect him to play a full game. I actually think we'll see a lot of Chykie Brown subbing for Webb. I actually wouldn't even be surprised to see Chykie start the game and Webb eased into action. I think Sanu is a good matchup for both Brown and Webb considering. He's more of an possession guy, so you pretty much know he'll stay in front of you.

Honestly I don't worry about their WRs. Jimmy has always had success against AJ, even going back to college. Green's numbers were inflated because of he fail mary last year, but other then that he struggles. So i'm confident there. As I mentioned Sanu being more of a possession guy suits both Webb and Brown. I'm more concerned about their TEs vs our Safeties and LBs. I think that'll be the matchup to watch in this game. If we can keep their TEs in check, we'll be fine.

sanu's physicality worries me against webb after not taking a single snap, but chykie worries me in general. i think one of their receivers are gonna give us headaches tomorrow, and i think sanu will be that guy. i think the TE's are gonna be handled well with our ILB's speed, and AJ gets a few catches but nothing major, and i see the running game being shut down for the most part.

i think they will give us a run for our money with a few big plays but i dont expect them to be tough enough or consistent enough to beat us for 4 quarters.

Yeah I wouldn't even play Webb tbh. We can win the game without him and let him work his way back up to 100%.

Should be a good game. It'll be my first visit to M&T - really looking forward to this.

nosebleed seats? im in the very last row, it gets ROWDY up there, i love it.

closer to the field seems to be more family friendly, that top deck is full of the rowdy foulmouth drunks and its a blast lol

The physicality is why I like the matchup. Webb is certainly a question mark because he hasn't practice or played. But with Chykie, he actually does well with more physical guys, especially if the refs allow contact on both sides. If there isn't a fear of a guy running past him, Chykie does pretty well. So we'll see. I've been hard on the guy this TC and preseason but he has improved seemingly each game. So I think he can force Dalton to make some tight window throws and that bodes well for the Ravens to get their hands on some balls.

While we do have speed at the ILB position, both CJ and Brown are still relatively young and inexperienced. So there could be some rookie/young player mistakes there. I think Hue Jackson is gonna wanna get the ball out of Dalton's hands early and often, his TEs might be a huge focus. Then D. Smith showed some signs of not being able to run with some of the better TEs last year. I expect the entire group to hold up well, but If the Bengals are to have success on offense, I think it'll be Gresham and Eiffer that will do the work for them.

realistically he hasn't practiced or played for a full month and he'll find himself matched up with one of the games best at times during the game. I think we can expect a few slip ups from Webb, you just hope they aren't major.

If i'm the Bengals I'm throwing at him early and often, then in the 4th quarter when his conditioning is being put to the test, i'm running double moves deep. It'll be interesting to see if Pees just allows Jimmy to shadow AJ, I would.

He was shadowing Dez before he got injured

I just found a good answer to this.

If you can shut down the left side of the field, or the quarterbacks right, you gain a huge competitive advantage because most quarterbacks are right handed and would prefer to roll out to the right to throw. If the right is off limits, they have to roll out to the left and it's harder to reset, plant, and make a good throw. If they end up rolling out to the right, they're throwing across the field and possibly their body, and that's a big risk.

Basically, it might not be flashy, but it does actually serve a good purpose

Thank you for this!

Now there are reports that Webby's out? What the heck is wrong with his back?

Then why would we cut Derek Cox if thats true?

I don't know, but it was a pretty reliable NFLN source...

The chick with a really long name that I can't remember and too lazy to look up...

Ehh I wouldn't actually be worried until I heard a local like aaron Wilson say it

I'm not surprised at all. When the player is designated 'questionable', more often than not they don't suit up for the game.

Me thinks Webb may have a short career. That dude is made of glass.

Sadly, I must agree... he just can't stay healthy. Not sure why we gave him such a big contract.

That's more the case when listed as "Doubtful" - "Questionable" guys usually play.

Webb is anything but a bust.. Has proven multiple times his talent..

You could label his contract a bad contract if he doesn't play much more career wise but that's about it

Call it what you like. If things continue to go as they are now he basically gave us maybe 2 seasons of good play in 5 years, not including this year. Considering what was expected, for me that's a bust.

But you never know, I hope he gets healthy and returns to 2011 form.

What was "expected" for a 3rd round development pick from Nicholls state?

A lot after 2011 and a $50 mil. extension in 2012($20 mil. guaranteed).

Methinks we're just defining bust differently. I'm not using the term talking about the draft, but what he was expected to be for us for a few years. We invested heavily.

Seems his bones may be connected with peanut butter.

The anxiousness is real!

My keys for the game:

- Win the turnover battle (Probably the most important in a game like this)

- Don't give up the long ball to AJ Green (Easier said than done)

- Run the ball for 100+ yards as a team

- Don't let Gio Bernard become a factor in the passing game

- Convert on 3rd down, hopefully guys like Steve Smith and Pitta will come up big there

Not seeing anything about him being ruled out as of now - just still "questionable".

Nice Mili. Enjoy, man!

Thanks my friend!  I'm pumped up for this game tomorrow.  Then, I'll be back up this way on Thursday night for the Ravens vs. Steelers game.  I also may be back for the Ravens vs. Panthers game as well.  Got a friend working on some tickets for me on that one.  Man!  3 home games in 1 month is new for me and that'll cover me for the rest of their season! :D

@Mili

Yeah, that sounds like a fun month. My business partners have season tickets, so trying to decide which games I want to go to. With a 1 week old and 2 other kids under 4, I think the wife will decide for me, ha.

On topic - I think we win and we win BIG! And, to please you and I (and all the lovers, haters and tweeners) Flacco has a fantastic game.
