Ravens restructure Webb's contract

Not to mention Quinn would be an OLB for us, not a DE. And why would St. Louis want to trade him? Makes very little sense.

Michael "I sacked Manziel" Sam!!! Lol

I agree. Between the two, I think it is critical we lockdown our shutdown CB, Jimmy Smith. We're not going to do it yet, because we have him for two more years, but I think it's a no brainer to do it now while the cap is low and his ceiling is high.

It would be wise to sign him to as long of a contract as we can negotiate now. Because we have leverage with those two years on the cheap and everyone knows the cap is going way up so that's why you are seeing all these long term deals getting signed now. We could carry his rights for 4 more years if we used the tag on him twice. Plus he'll be making peanuts for two more years. Powerful leverage for the team.

Edit: this is why you see the team friendly deals with less than stellar guarantees kapernick, dalton, t. Smith, ... There's been a few others lately I forget who right now.

This clearing has me checking every young corners cap hit lol

Prince Amukamara has a cap hit of 2.6 mil, and the Giants now have a loaded secondary

They are not going to trade Prince Amukamara and force a guy like Walter Thurmond to cover the outside whom is better covering in the slot and also has trouble staying healthy.

Yeah, but what other 2011 1st round picks have signed another deal with their teams? The only one that comes to mind for me is LT Tyron Smith of the Dallas Cowboys.

Don't get me wrong. I am with you 100% maybe even 200%. I want Jimmy extended now. I just doubt we do it.

There is Patrick Peterson and  Mike Pouncey as well but  other than that not many

I knew there was someone I forgot. Thanks for the reminder about Peterson and Pouncey. I feel we should strike while the iron is hot.  While we have the upper hand negotiating this deal.  His price tag will only go up.  I would be more inclined to sign Torrey at the 11th hour next year.  Let the other guys sign their modest deals I expect them to get at the WR position.  Torrey I believe is in the second tier of WR whatever he does this year, his price tag won't go higher, but the saturated WR market could bring his price down a bit.  I expect both to be re-signed.

On another note the prospects of a Larry Fitzgerald signing next year is intriguing to me.

Don't see us soaking up that much money into a backup.

Yeah, neither do I, but you never know! Maybe he takes a paycut to come here.

Okay, okay. I'm guilty of hating on Shipley. I just want the guy gone and I recognize it's likely he won't. He's like a hemorrhoid, and he needs to go.  Hopefully they just cut him and we sign him as a free agent. That would be splendid.
