Ravens sign CB Derek Cox

I read somewhere that Derek was cut after his struggles working as a nickel back. I wonder if he might do better if used strictly outside?

He's pretty much called himself a sole outside corner. It's what he did in Jacksonville

I like Cox and I'm glad we got him back. I also thought Franks played pretty well too. I thought he was outplaying Chykie Brown this preseason but practice may have been a different story.

I actually really liked Cox in Jacksonville, I thought he was one of the next best 2nd tier corners until, San Diego got a hold of him. Scheme Matters, He was very good in Jacksonville. Here as a 3rd corner I have a feeling he'll be decent. Our pass rush still has to be effective though. Anyone is better than Brown at this point, Cox is definitely better. We will have a very Good secondary  late in the season when Hill is off suspension, hopefully he adjusts quickly, and His experience with Elam will help and Well be up to speed by the time Playoff time rolls around....and then we make another run . If we enter the playoffs with Jimmy, Webby, Cox, Jackson, Hill, Brooks and Elam in our secondary I like our chances.

But neither are better special teamers than Chykie. The last time i saw Franks out their on special teams he didn't look good  at times.
