OL needs to get the kinks worked out.  Every player on the OL had their struggles tonight.

Elam still needs to learn how to wrap up instead of throwing the shoulder every single time.

The run game took a big hit tonight.

Otherwise, I was pretty happy.  Issues that showed up when we started the game disappeared as the game went on and that's what I'm looking for in the preseason.

You can see the potential this team has.  We just need to correct the minor issues and keep pushing on.

Stupid Light Rail. I stood on the platform for an hour and never got a train. Finally gave up and went home to watch the game.

OMG. I was wondering why you were on.

Didn't want to miss the start and there was no way I was getting to my seat on time if I kept waiting on a train. I hope they have the issue resolved for people trying to leave the stadium.

Was at the game tonight and, for those wondering why Joe held the ball a lot, the wide receivers played like poo. There's a reason Steve Smith and Juice got force-fed the ball: Nobody else was open. Oline was mediocre. Dline was excellent. LBs were slow to read plays but solid overall. RBs made bad reads and didn't run with any sort of conviction. DBs were surprisingly impressive.

There's my "in a nutshell" scouting report. I can answer specifics if anyone has questions.

Sounds like the issues we had there last year as well.  Torrey, Marlon, and Jacoby all have trouble separating at times.

Torrey ran the worst in route I've ever seen in my life tonight. I know he's a fan favorite and all but he was not good tonight.

The Skins also made sure to sit in the middle to cover the crossing routes. They sat in the middle all game.

Yeah none of those 3 I mentioned are particularly strong route runners.  Rounded corners always make it easier on the DBs.

Only 1 error by Levine who seemed to always be on the field.

B+

He made some plays tonight

Very impressed by him at CB.  With his ST skills, I think he found himself a spot on this team tonight.

Im starting to doubt pierce. Cbs played better than expected. Oline will be fine they just need to continue to gel together.

I'm not sure if the DBs played well or the Dline just slapped some people around.

I know Bernard Pierce is popular with the majority of the fans (and I like him, too); but, there's a reason why he's the complementary piece at halfback. He's not a starter, nor is he someone who can carry the load. He just gets way too banged-up to be trusted upon.

Depending on the situation with his injury (which he should be fine in time for the game against the Bengals), the Ravens are going to need to use Taliaferro and Forsett A LOT more, than originally expected, against Cincy and Pittsburgh.

I agree,he really stays hurt alot ,,first game cincy and if he gets his head rung again then what,,,

OMG! I switched to the Redskins post game show on CSN and they're laughing about the hit on Pierce and interviewing Merriweather like he's a hero. How classless.

i think we should keep Deonte thompson after all, as a trade bait, with the top 4 WRs are locked , camp and deonte will take the last 2 spots, if we keep 7 wr it will aiken, butler and aiken dont have lot of preseason tape for other teams to pluck them off waivers,

As I mentioned above, I was at the game, and I saw the DBs playing very well. Good, tight coverage all around. Again, it was mostly man and press with not as much zone.

Agreed.

Now to my vent... Meriweather should be banned from the NFL. Goodell wants to enforce player safety? This dude keeps injuring players(hell, he took himself out trying to take out another guy last year). The league has constantly said to hit in the waist area, he keeps targeting the head and he seems to not learn his lesson. If anything, the current players who are playing, there will be a separate lawsuit from the NFL. Current players trying to sue the NFL for the same reason retired players are, and then there will be the lawsuit against Meriweather from all the players he has injured.

Meriweather and Pollard would be a deadly safety tandem. Literally.

I think we still need to add depth at the defensive line

I'm not sure we will. We used Upshaw and McPhee there a lot tonight.

Team needs to work on chemistry/communication in the blocking game. A few missed blocks that should have been easy to make. On the play Pierce got concussed, Merriweather shot off the edge. He was lined up on a slot receiver, but the receiver didn't block him and went up to the FS. Juice didn't block Merriweather either and then Pierce got killed. Not sure who to blame on that, but nine times out of ten the WR should block the DB lined up on him.

Monroe and KO got bullied a lot in the run game. Have to wonder whether it's lack of effort or lack of talent.

Seemed like our OL were struggling to get traction with the field being slippery.

Can't recall seeing so many players, from both teams, slipping and sliding around this much in August (when there's no ice)

Merriweather might be my least favorite player in the NFL. He's just so reckless.

I hope these officials get their act together soon, as the season's right around the corner.

Both our QBs looked great, which was awesome to see.

I didn't see a poor performance from any of our bubble guys that would make me think "Cut him, now".

Brandon Williams is a beeeeasssstttttt!!!!!

He looks like a NT; Cody looks like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

I thought we left 2 TDs on the field: 1) Marlon didn't attack that end zone pass from Joe in the 1st and 2) Harbaugh didn't challenge Sr.'s should have been 1st down at the 10. In both cases we kicked FGs.

Did anyone else forgot that the redskins had DeSean Jackson? He got shut down really hard.

Yeah, completely forgot about him. Very happy with how our secondary played, though RG3 is to blame in DC.
