Quite the contrary: our backups have a chance to practice covering guys like them. If it was a regular season game, it would be a totally different matter - but it's not, and the result is not important.

 

Yeah I would rather them compete against guys like them in the preseason where the result doesn't matter. It won't look good for us tonight but it provides a lot of learning for the group as a whole and we can see who can hold their own. We should get a lot of answers tonight as to who makes it in our secondary.

I really want to see Tramain Jacobs get some chances with the 1st team tonight.  I've been impressed by him, but concerned by the fact that he really hasn't elevated above the 3rd team.  I'd love to bump him up and see if he can at least hold his own.

I, however, am curious to see how they perform and it won't be against 2nd or 3rd team. Maybe we'll get an unexpected surprise like we did with Marlon Brown last year.

Staying healthy is one of the big challenges for any NFL player. He knew what he signed up for. If you don't like contact, go play baseball.

With these wet conditions, I really hope we're cautious with the starters.  I know game #3 is usually where they play the longest, but I'm more than alright if we pull them early.  We can't have any injuries.

I hate the fact that it has the rain during the game.  1) It increases likelihood of injury and 2) That slippery ball and slippery field is gonna interfere with the play, which means we may get a inaccurate performance from the 1st team. I know it rains during regular games, but it doesn't happen often.
