Traffic around the stadium question

9 posts in this topic

Does anyone drive around the stadium on a regular basis?

I received the emails about the road being resurfaced and that if possible to use exit 51-

Washington if coming from points south.

The problem is I drive a motorhome to the stadium.  I typically take exit 52- Russell and then turn right after the casino and then left onto Ostend.  Is this still doable?

I know the 49ers game was a bit of a mess.  Getting back out onto Russell after the game was even worse.

I have taken the Washington exit several times and it can be quite hairy in a MH especially once traffic gets tight.  When leaving I have even been denied turning left onto Washington off Bayard Street.  Nothing like being directed down the side streets of Baltimore in a 31' motorhome!

Perfect timing for the city to decide to do roadwork.  ugh

We do the Russel street to get to out lot, we park off of Stockholm, when we leave we go back the way we came OR go through the neighborhoods on the way home and we usually wait until traffic dies down-- say an hour or so after the game

I used to never worry when we would drive our truck to tailgate.

But with a motorhome, things are a bit different now.

Personally, Russell St is the worst way to leave the stadium.  But getting stuck on Bayard, West Ostend, or Washington is no better.

One of these days I'm going to drive down in my truck and look for some short cuts.

Although I think you hit the nail on the head.  Wait an hour and let things die down before leaving.

We park next to the BARCS, we are displaced J lot people but we moved as soon as they were talking about closing the lot 4 years ago maybe? My brother is friends with the guy that runs Closest Parking-- at least with the I-95 Ramps we don't get rained on BUT I feel like I'm in a cave lol. I do know they park RVs on the grassy area and it cost more then cars.

We have always been in the Russell street mess and make sure we have food for 'post' gate, if the team loses it sucketh!

I have heard of that.  However, I believe the RV's need to fit into a regular car space.  <25' or so.

We are on a private lot managed by a Ravens Roost on West Ostend.  We park on asphalt and the space size is more than generous.

The worse thing is the vandalism.  We have heard of everything being stolen from coolers to grills to canopies.  Plus how many girls cheerleading groups needing donations can there possibly be?????  :D

We get the groups selling stuff too-- a lot of Boy scouts! I am most likely going to Hades for this BUT I brought some of the popcorn we are selling and asked if they want to buy lol I've had kids in scouting since 1997 and we are not allowed to sell lime that and I would not subject the younger kids to all the drunks!

One of the groups was selling candy and I was craving ,the box was a thinner version of a Girl Scout cookie box for 2.50 , it had six pieces of the nastiest excuse of candy I sat it out for the homeless guy ( we do that with all the leftovers we don't want) and knock on wood the only think we have has stolen was my friends tote bag, we figured it was from the guys picking up beer cans. I know someone that parks around Ostend street on a private lot and had his little boys Pokemon cards stolen and he was venting on FB and my sons offered theirs my youngest was 15 and NOT into them anymore!

Please anyone going to the stadium lock everything in your trunk! No matter where you park.

For last Saturdays game I got into a couple of traffic jams going up I 95 from 495, I usually park in the Park Under Garage on Lombard Street for 15 dollars, its the same price if you want to guarantee it by prepaying on ParkWhiz.  Tried the Ravens Ride buses from Southwest Park and Ride but they're more expensive than the Garage.

By our opener I hope the Casino's novelty has worn off so the traffic to get to the game won't be awful
