Anyone know anything about computer repair?  I consider myself pretty IT savvy but I haven't been able to solve this one.  I have a Mac and I've been hit with the dreaded 'Offers4U' malware and I can't get rid of it.  I'd cleared the extensions, cleared the cache, reinstalled the entire OS.  I've done literally everything I could find on the matter.  I've run MalwareBytes and it found some material that I've since cleared out.  The issue is still there and the scan comes back clean now.

Turn it off and on again.

If that doesn't work, throw it out of the window.

Update malwarebytes daily and rescan.  It may eventually detect the problem.  Otherwise, get a professional.

It's so frustrating.  I managed to rid myself of 'Offers4U' last night, but now 'From Around the Web' is my main adversary.  Knocked out 1 of 2 so batting .500 isn't too bad for someone that's not an IT guy.

I've lost 2 computers to malware over the years, so you have my sympathies.  Eventually purchased malwarebytes pro and that stopped the problem.  Never got infected again.

I thought one of the biggest appeals for MAC was that people don't make viruses for the OS...

It's not really a virus.  It's adware, so it's not affecting my OS like a virus would/could.

Yeah the computer is still 100% usable.  I just get advertisements that pop up randomly when I'm on a webpage.  I know I can get rid of it.  It's just finding it that's the problem.

It's this, on the right side of the screen.  Not a world ender, but inconvenient.

Oh ok I get you. IS there a program list like on PC's? I've found some ad stuff there before.

Muhammad Ali dead at 74. RIP.

I’ve wrestled with alligators,
I’ve tussled with a whale.
I done handcuffed lightning
And throw thunder in jail.
You know I’m bad.
just last week, I murdered a rock,
Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick.
I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.

RIP, GOAT.

@allblackraven

Tell me what was up with the All Blacks doing the haka. I have no idea what happened but I'd probably just cry if I was the opposing team.

Are you referring to something that you noticed yesterday vs Wales or haka in general?

NZ national rugby team (The All Blacks from 1905) are performing the haka since late 19th century. Intensity (and the proper way of doing it) was introduced late 1980s by then captain Wayne "Buck" Shelford. Haka has different meanings and purposes but in the All Blacks sense, it's mostly understood as laying down the challenge and showing the respect to the opposition.

Yeah I'm clearly not a rugby watcher, but that video illustrated the point that I wouldn't want to play against them.
