Apparently the Ravens have a scout at the Pats/Panthers game tonight.  Scouting the Pats plethora of CBs?

Lol, maybe we're preparing to trade Owen Daniels to them for a depth CB.

Well the only cornerback The Ravens can be interested in from The Patriots is probably Kyle Arrington. They could be interested in Charles Godfrey as well from The Panthers but not sure if they are willing to trade him away but it's quite possible since he's been quite injury prone.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're taking a very close look at G Dan Connolly to see how he plays if the Patriots were to cut him. He's a likely candidate to be cut, where he would save New England $3M if they were to cut bait with him. When looking at the poor performance of current LG Shipley, I think it's a very likely scenario.

I'll probably get a lot of bashing for this, but just basing this off recent seasons. Ngata has not been the same the past 2-3 seasons as he is constantly facing nagging injuries and not to mention his giant cap hit. Now I'm sure a lot of people would like him to be a lifetime Raven (including me), however theres always a right price. Any thoughts on whether the Ravens even make a call to Green Bay. They just lost nose tackle B.J. Raji for the season and are in desperate need for a nose tackle and they also run the 3-4 defense. Ngata could be a huge help for them, but with his caliber and skill the Ravens could get some serious picks for Ngata or maybe even a pick and a player who could help. I'm not as keen on the player because I know the Ravens secondary could use help, but when everyones healthy and assuming Hill comes back I don't know if theres any room.

So, my thoughts are if the Ravens could even get a couple high round draft picks for Ngata would it be worth it? With the Ravens defensive youth movement, Brandon Williams poised to come into the NT spot, Deangelo Tyson being a pretty decent DT prospect and the depth of the DL moving forward (two guys likely to have impacts this season both down for the season), a couple more high round draft picks and another successful draft could really solidify the ravens roster for years to come

No. The Ravens can't trade Ngata at all and our run defense would be super bad with out him.

Not really Ted Thompson's style. He'd prefer to look within and trust his draft picks/UDFAs.

I'll shoot some holes in this:

1. 15M cap hit in bonus money; if pushed to next year then it would be 7.5M for this and next year.

2. We're already thin at DL after losing Urban and Kapron Lewis-Moore. It could very well be foolish to move Ngata and give us a starting DL of Tyson, Williams, Canty, and Jernigan even if Upshaw and McPhee can play DL at times.

3. The most veteran player on the DL would be Canty and Tyson at this point. Tyson would be the senior of all our drafted guys, entering his third year as a 7th round pick

I think that's all I need to say. If we could get a 2nd round pick for him, I'd absolutely consider it but at that point, would we be giving up on the season? I think you'd need to tread carefully if you move Ngata. That could really deflate the guys on the DL. I mean, if this is next offseason and we're talking about moving him, then maybe. It might make sense. But we have Cody (who is still on the PUP) who could play for Ngata...yeah, lol. The one thing you like in Ngata is he could play the DE position, since he has actually played there in the past.

I think this could happen next offseason, but this is not the year.

Jerry would probably do it. You know Jones loves those big names.

Need cap space?  Restructure Romo.
