Johnny Football ?

72 posts in this topic

so Merril Hoge just lit into Johnny hard on a Pitt radio station. Was trending al over twitter

Hoge called him a bust well before the draft. I remember that because it's not often I agree with him (though it's too early to definitively call him one yet).

Harsh words by Hodge but I completely agree. I said last college football season that "the more I watch Manziel, the more I think he shouldn't even be drafted". College and pros can be two very different things, and scrambling to make a play only looks good. Smart decisions and simple throws will get you farther. You have 11 guys for a reason. Do your job and let them do theirs. That's how you win at this level.

Is wrong of me to want Johnny Football to be the most sacked QB in the history of the NFL once they give him the starting gig?

I'm so evil.

.

Wrong?

No.

I am right there with you either way.

I despise huge egos on display.

Oh good!

I don't mind confidence, a certain amount of swagger or even some smack talk at times from players - but his brand of ego just rubs me the wrong way.

hmmm....lot of hate here for him. Raise your hand if you were also telling me a few months ago that Manziel made Mike Evans, not vice versa

I would raise my hand, but I have no clue what you are talking about.

Well, his first season is in the books. Will there be a second?

I saw a bunch of tweets this morning saying he has entered rehab. I hope he takes it seriously.

Really sad how these guys get addicted to these substances when what they've worked for is at their fingertips. Shame. Get better, Johnny.

Skip Bayless said a few months back that he was an alcoholic and had a real problem.  Supposedly, this was known by many sports reporter/analysts but Skip was the only one to touch it.
