I don't have an issue with him being out there on the field but for the length of time was just stupid IMO.  Get him some playing time but then realize you are not going to have him all-season long and you need to work on other WRs.

I also don't necessarily think they're a total mess; teams have bad games.  Their bad game however was just REALLY bad.  Ugh.

So... I heard there was a game last night?  Yeesh.  I think I can safely say this is the only time that I'll ever utter these words:  they should have taken that game off of the air and put on a WNBA game.  That was Charles Barkley "turrible."

If I'm Pettine - name Hoyer the freaking starting QB already and end this stupid nonsense.  You KNOW he is your week one guy, you knew this before training camp even started.  Hoyer played awful last night yes but even in three games last season you've seen 100 times more than you can hope for with Manziel currently so just end the drama already.

Also I had no idea that Braylon Edwards came back to Cleveland wearing a #12 jersey last night!  Good lord Josh - that was abysmal.  Speaking of abysmal - why in the world is he even out there late in the game?  Whether it's a season or not he will be suspended so why let him take up valuable playing time from WRs on our roster that desperately need the playing time?

I dunno man... really confused as to what in the world was going on last night.  At least our secondary came to play.

Gordon got open a fair amount of times, but Maziel couldn't make an accurate throw to save his life

There were throws that were missed but Gordon also dropped at least four passes that I can recall off the top of my head.  Easy catches?  Not especially but EASILY ones he has made before and could have made last night.  He really looked like he had zero interest in being there.  It's certainly not all on him by any means but he was just as awful last night as the QB play.

Kind of have to wonder if he's giving up on the season because of the possible piss poor quarterback carousel

It's possible - or he just doesn't care with the suspension coming.  The QB carousel is an issue that needs to be addressed today and Pettine and his staff needs to stop messing around and just name Hoyer the starter.  It needs to be him, it should be him so just do it already IMO.

I agree Hoyer should get the job, but while he performed admirably for the Browns, he isn't the answer, never has been for a full season, and likely won't ever be. I don't think Manziel is the answer, either, so it's just a really awful situation for an extremely talented player like Gordon

He isn't the long-term answer more than likely - will agree with you there.  But for right now he's option #1 and really he's always been option #1 so they just need to quit jerking around and name him the guy so that he and the first team can get as much practice in as possible.  That part has irked me.

That should earn him a nice fine.

Goodell should have suspended him 2 games.

Just for the lulz.

First Quinn, then McCoy and Weeden, now Manziel...should we tell the Browns that they're doing this drafting of QBs all wrong?

Because they're doing it all wrong.

Oh it goes beyond Quinn. They haven't really ever had a guy besides kinda Anderson for a year since they came back

They didn't draft Anderson, that's why I didn't include him.

So far, the best QB they've drafted, since their return to the NFL in 1999, has been...

Tim Couch.

They should probably stop taking QBs at #22 given that is where Quinn, Weeden and Manziel all were drafted at.

Yeah but Couch was the first one they drafted, not Quinn so there are some bad QBs you missed out on

What I thought was great was how he explained why he flipped off the Redskins players. He said that they had been taunting him all game and he lost his cool. This made me want him to start just so Suggs can rattle him in a real game haha

He might not even make it to us. Don't they play the Steelers first? I'm sure they'll have a few words for him.

Took long enough.  Sheesh.

Now get to work with that first-team offense so we can score a TD at some point.  :D

I don't remember exactly what the taunts were, but apparently they were very light taunts

Actually considering the rest of the Browns draft, I'm not too sure Ray Farmer would have took Manziel. Farmer from the looks of their off-season and draft may actually end the revolving door of GMs. It just seemed to me Farmer was ok with Hoyer thus trading down to get another first round pick next year and then back up to form a shutdown corner duo of Haden-Gilbert. When Manziel was available at 22, Farmer may have been happy at 26 but Haslam made the call to trade up and get Johnny.

As I said... regardless of the starter I saw a week one upset of the Browns over the Steelers, I still see it happening even with Hoyer as the starter.

Did he really say that?

Geez, this guy is SO not ready for the NFL.

I am sure after that incident everyone will start to taunt him.
