Preseason 1 - Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers

I wished the Miners Offens didn't lay an egg so we could better access some of the defensive guys.

Loved the running game , including Tyrod's feet.

Taliaferro looked great! Big bruising back in short yardage/goal line that we've so desperately needed. I was mad we didn't try to nab Blount in FA but we saved a lot of money and made the right choice imo by looking to the draft to fill that role. Felt like he was consistently getting 4+ yards, bouncing off initial contact, and falling forward to finish the play.

He had 71 yards for 13 carries. that's 5.46 YPC. Sure: against second and third stringers... but he still did look good.

Tyrod looked to be the only injury and I imagine he'll be fine.

I meant the first-teamers, but in general a clean bill of health is all you can ask for. ^_^

Watched with the SF commentary. Called Wenning "Wesling" and Taliaferro "Tolliver" the whole game. They were getting sooo mad and coming up with excuse after excuse for the 49ers performance

*Ravens run the ball down their throat over and over*.

"Well a lot of these guys are drained cardiovascularly from camp"

Man if Kaep goes down the 9ers are so screwed

yeah but we aren't much better off if Flacco goes down.

Absolutely.  Let's just hope we keep it that way.  Hopefully fate decided to hit us early on Ross and Urban and that fulfills our quota.

Really? Because he only managed to get 116 yrds throwing the football. Not that great.

He was 13/21 - that's not catastrophic. What I meant was that it was good to see him not resorting to making a scramble when his target#1 was unavailable.

Me and my good buddy Glenlivet are very happy with tonight's game

Genuine single malt Glenlivet? Man, that was one expensive pre-seasoner for you :D

There were a couple unnecessary scrambles, imho. It was an okay performance. I'm still glad Joe is so durable.

When Tucker was running down their kick returner, I'm thinking ... c'mon man, don't do anything stupid and get yourself hurt. So instead, the other guy did something stupid and got himself hurt.

I think I'd keep Tucker off the practice field with the 9rs over the few days we train with them. Someone might just cheap shot the kid after hurting their kick returner

Tyrod's main problem imo is his hesitation to pull the trigger. Kinda second guesses himself because he doesn't want to throw a pick but he ends up just patting the ball for far too long and using his mobility as a crutch. At the end of the game though I would say he was starting to find his confidence and was making some tight throws which was good.

Not a great showing obviously but he had his moments and something to build off in the 2nd game

It may just be pre-season but we saw a lot of positives tonight and it was great to see the "deepest roster in the NFL" get waxed from top to bottom.

I felt the same way about Blount, and feel better now we saved money and got a hungry big RB like taliaferro.

I'd like to see us defend those outside runs better. We need to se the edges more consistently. Outside of that I thought we had a solid game. Good offensive game. Solid defensive game after we stopped the first drive.

Special Teams didn't look that great imo.

On the 9ers forum they're saying Joe looked back to Superb Owl form. An encouraging sign in this fan's opinion.

The NFL brotherly love trifecta is complete.

First man to beat his brother in the preseason, the regular season, and the Super Bowl in NFL history.  Woooooo.

All we need now is the two of them to coach the pro bowl teams and John beat him there too.

Good game all around from everyone, some really bad QB play once Kaep went out for San Fran but I liked what I saw from the offense.
