Eww, LA doesn't have a good fanbase for the rams, now the chargers are joining them. Well at least when they merge they can become a 8-8 team :)

Well it won't be yet but they may only be the Chargers for a couple more years.

PFT reports that the Chargers are considering a rebranding when they move to LA.

Just got home, watching NFL Network and fans are pissed. Fans were shown on NFL Network throwing their jerseys and Chargers gear out front of the Chargers facility. One man went as far as egging the the Chargers facility.

I wonder why the Chargers decide to move to LA after all these years and the Rams already in LA as well......is LA giving out free Jelly beans or something?

Well after 55yrs with the team, I wouldn't blame fans' reaction to such a stunner decision from the Chargers....

Having Weddle makes the Ravens an ideal replacement team for disgruntled chargers fans.

Yeah so now St. Louis and San Diego have fell victim to the NFL's love for LA. Honestly I don't think 2 teams in LA will work. I think the Chargers will end up moving out of LA and this will be a total failure.

He might end up selling the team.....

So teams only move within their divisional location? such as West teams have to stay in the West coast.  Virginia is one of the biggest commercial states but they don't have a team; whey don't Teams like Chargers move there?

Chargers would have been better off moving to San Antonio where they'd have the whole market to themselves.  Next year they will play in the Stubhub Center until the stadium in in Inglewood is ready.  At least they have a good chance of filling that little soccer stadium.

LOL, this shows how much LA cares about the Chargers. Trending Topics on Twitter one hour after the announcement...

The Chargers move to LA is so important that the only sports team trending is the Padres.

It probably plays into the decision making process for the league. We make such a big deal out of things now, but remember, the Baltimore Colts were in the old NFL West. Somehow, it was not a topic to discuss what the record was for teams travelling across the country to play a 1 PM game.

Virginia has a lot of people, but the majority of them are in NoVa, which is a D.C. suburb and expands for miles. This is Redskins territory. Then there is Richmond and the Tidewater areas - both separated by too great a distance to be combined and each individually not likely big enough to support an NFL franchise. Most people in these 2 areas have always leaned heavily toward the Redskins.

And the Media finally gave Baltimore some symphony.  Its 33 years too late.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/chargers-l-a-move-reflects-their-history-mistake-prone-and-misguided-170209360.html

There have been some ugly relocation dramas in NFL history, hurt feelings and double crosses. Robert Irsay had the Colts load up 15 moving trucks in the dark of night and slip out of Baltimore. Art Modell had his once-good name become mud in Cleveland. In St. Louis, cursing the Rams is part therapy, part entertainment. It’s never easy.

Yeah, the time zone is the problem too

The Redskins have been dominating the fan base in Maryland, D.C, and Virginia for so many years; the thing about B-more Ravens have their own fan base cuz of the merging of B-more Colts old fan base.

LA didn't even have any fan base except some mixed of NFL fan base but none like the Rams or the Chargers; I think it's a bad business for the Chargers to move there.

He should just sell the team instead of moving around and lose the value of the team if he ever decides to sell.....

I do wonder, and wonder what you guys think of this being a possibility now. With 2 LA teams now, would the NFL consider expansion in the future to further expand the league, add more teams(possibily 34 or 36) and expand into more cities across the US or even in London.

Chargers set up a website called "FightforLA.com" where fans can purchase season tickets for the 2017 season.

That stadium is too small to host an NFL team. Thats like the Ravens playing at Oriole Park

It's kinda old school looking, but it's not a bad logo. I actually do like it more than their old one.

Decided to check out current trends in LA as of right now.... still no sight of the #Chargers trending in LA. Though at least one of their NFL teams is trending, the Rams.

- Rams

- RPPChat

- NSCAAConvention

- All-Star

- #RevengeBody

- #RBNY

- Jessica Lange

- John Landgraf

- Ryan Murphy

- Susan Sarandon

Well 1 team doesn't even work. Also san diego has always had poor home team support they should have done something about that ages ago instead of just relocating.

I think the weather plays a big role in these teams struggling with fans. Why pay attention to a franchise like the Chargers with weather like they have and beaches right there. Always seemed to be a neutral field when the Ravens played there and I don't see that improving in LA

I suppose but why not do both? It's not like you cant have the beach and see a football game 8 times a year. I think cali besides oakland has crummy fans.
