I'm thinking 4 k yards and 30tds the biggest improvements should come from completion percentage.

Isn't more than 4k yards almost a given? Joe fell only a couple yards short of that last year and that is without an OL and running game, in Cam's system with WR and TEs, who dropped the ball quite often. With Kubiak, Smith Sr and Pitta back, I would say, that 1/28/01's 4500 is a very realistic expectation.

Funny how this turned into a Flacco discussion. I guess it was inevitable.

No. We still will try to run the ball

And hopefully the defense creates short fields

To give an idea of what I'm looking at

It's a record 6k yard offensive season with around a 2:1 pass :run yard ratio.

The 6k is just shy of the 6150 which was the sticking point for kub in Houston. I'd expect ray and pierce to be sharp enough that they push. 2k total that leaves approx 4k passing

I'm going to jump on the offense's (Kubiak's) bandwagon and say//hope they score 1 more TD/gm than last year. With 27 pts/gm we would be top tier and it's going to take all that to win the division this year. If Joe can raise his "rating" 20 points to the 90s he'll be fine; atleast then, he'll be rated an above average QB.

Vegas and many talking heads have the Ravens finishing behind the Bengals and Steelers. And Cleveland will be no slouch either.

Someone is joining the Joe Flacco bandwagon. NFL.COM's Bucky Brooks predicts that Joe Flacco will become a truly elite QB this season under Kubiak.

favorite quote: "Flacco has more talent and better physical skills than many of the other quarterbacks who have thrived in the system, which makes it easy to envision him blossoming into a consistent and spectacular playmaker under Kubiak."

I've been on the Jimmy Smith one for years.

You have officially been kicked off the Tyson bandwagon now that you are supporting other DLs...

Welcome.

ive been on this bandwagon lol. although i will say jernigan is the future of our DL and i think hes gonna be a perennial pro bowler early in his career

For me it has to be Mosley. I know I have not seen the boy play in the NFL yet but I am excited about this player. I also want to say A. Brown as well but yall wont let me.  LOL

I've been on the Jimmy Smith bandwagon for a while. I am also on the Mosley wagon as well. And I am hoping we have a few breakout young O-Linemen.

4,500/35/10 in his 7th year and with the weapons we have should be achievable. They are not necessarily MVP #s, just very good #s. We should be able to expect that from our franchise QB. Im not asking for 45 TDs and 5k yards. 35 and a low # of INTs (along with team success) and Im very happy!

I dunno if we can expect 35 TDs. Only 14 players in the history of the league have done it, and those guys had some serious firepower to throw the ball to. Well, except Stafford, who had Megatron and little else.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_td_single_season.htm

But then again, if Flacco is really as good as some of us claim he is, then the above is irrelevant.

I don't think his supporting cast is as good as most of those guys were, but it's good enough for him to not be hampered or held back by them. I think his stat line is:

4,400 yards

27 TDs

12 INT

I think half those numbers come from 4th quarter production...I think he is going to kill it in crunch time this year

So, are we expecting a Tom Brady type career? Finally breaks out in the seventh year and goes onto the HoF?

I think Joe is in the position for it. Tom Brady got Wes Welker and Randy Moss both, and Joe's getting a revamped offensive line, a healthy Pitta, Kubiak, and a new receivers coach. Should be a good year

Oh come on Fly. Dont be excusing Flacco already ;)

Some here think he's God. If so, why cant I expect a little more than 2 TD's a game from our franchise, SB MVP, $120M quarterback?

If Flacco wins another one, he's in consideration because even if we hate him, he has been very successful in his career.

If he wins two more. Then he's a lock. And NFL fans will cry everywhere

I think with Gary that's actually reasonable. But if you're going to criticize last year, consider that our personel was either injured or pathetic. Coaching is debatable(that playbook in general had to go. Nothing against Jim).

He lost 3 dudes on the oline last year. One of them was a huge upgrade(Monroe) while the LG(Osemele) got injured and we downgraded(Shiply). Then Gino was a disaster. And with 2 weak links on the line, our weakest link during our SB run(Oher) didn't improve at all and you have 3 olinemen that are turnstiles.

MARLON BROWN was our #2 WR last year. Steve Smith should at least be better. Pitta got hurt and it was probably a factor in a difference between a playoff team and no playoffs.

Ray Rice's heavy workload in college through now caught up to him. Happens, he's a RB.

Yet through all that crap throughout the season, which would literally be most other team's worst case scenario, we almost made the playoffs.

Even with one of the worst offenses in football. Even with a conservative defensive coordinator that's not capable of maximizing his talent.

Why? In short. Flacco actually kept us alive. Even with a terrible statistic line, he almost did it(make the playoffs).

Our season was over when our QB went down. If he were to have remained healthy, we would've probably beat Cinci or New England. He clearly wasn't himself those two games and we had a good chance to win one of em. The New England game was actually close until TYROD came in IIRC.

An injured Flacco ruined the season(and normally Joe is a tough SOB). Without him our season is over.

So I'm not claiming he's a god, he's a lot better than many give him credit for. Personel issues screwed him over.

And while I am skeptical about the offense, it should upgrade from liability to most likely mediocre.

I mean. Think about it.

Monroe Stays(franchise Lt)

Osemele Returns(potentially a pro bowler)

Traded for Zuttah(May only be average. But average > Gino)

Signed Steve Smith(upgrade at #2 WR)

Replaced Dropson with capable TE #2(Daniels)

Added justin(will be Sproles like dude for us)

Healthy Pitta returns(which if that is the case it's basically an acquisition)

I'm not sure it'll be great as so many others say it will be. But it should be a major upgrade from last season. If the offense were to be great this would have to happen.

Ray rice returns to form

Steve Smith returns to form

Line plays good(not great).

It's refreshing to see that someone recognizes how well Joe played last year despite the stats. He at least made a little something out of basically nothing. I think the experience will only make him better moving forward.

All Flacco proved is that he can't do it by himself. But let's be real no QB can. Sure, Peyton can make his WRs look better than they actually are, but if those WR had crappy hands he couldn't. Every QB needs capable targets. Doesn't necessarily mean talented, but capable. But we didn't have that outside of Torrey last year.

We've upgraded from crap filled burrito with a side of vomit, to average in offensive personnel. So we shall see. Flacco has proven he can win a SB. Anyone who doubts him just needs to go look at that run.

That run is not a fluke. That was just the first time he's peaked for a long period of time. He's always shown flashes of that(vs Minnesota 2009. Vs Pit in regular season 2011, vs NE in playoffs 2011),hell, he flashed it this year(vs Minnesota 2013). It's just the first time he's ever done it consistently. Only time sadly.

Guess I was wrong, it doesn't seem that you got my point.

You can still have some personal success if those around you fail, even though it may not show it stats or consistent team success. Joe proved he had the the resolve to continue to try to lift the Team even though key pieces were failing. If it were not for Flacco, our offense and record would have been much worse. And in the long run, facing that adversity will help him to be a better player.

To your point of lacking targets....... for me that wasn't the main problem. Having zero run game and poor O line play were more serious issues and ultimately caused the Ravens to miss the playoffs.
