Weren't there reports that Oneill Cousins was looking good as well?  I remember how that turned out.  I don't trust the stuff out of training camp.

Probably true.

I doubt he will be put on an island in cover 1 very frequently, so I'm not too concerned.

I wouldn't think so either, but Elam was at his best when he's in the box and allowed to make plays at the line

I wouldn't touch this cat. I think he's a loose cannon waiting to happen.

I pray to all of the deitys that this young man "get's it"

We'll probably see lots of cover 3 then.

He's a loose cannon cop on the edge.

I like the idea of mixing in multiple safeties to give lots of looks

I'll be watching the safeties in preseason games very closely. Harbs seems to really like Jeromy Miles and Omar has flashed playmaking ability for a couple seasons now.

Does Jeromy Miles have any in game experience?

Not much outside of ST. He played 10 snaps for us last year, and played a reserve role for Cincinnati before that.

Didn't he play a bit of that 'dime-backer' role in Cinci?

Not to derail the thread from Will Trill, but I wonder what Spags/pees will do with Brooks in the preseason game. With all the combinations everyone is talking about, I want to see if Terrance Brooks is versatile for a dime corner or back up SS role.

I want to see how a Omar brown-brooks tandem on Sunday plays out. Should be interesting

I guess we'll get a good look on Thursday

From The Article, Dean Pees:  "I tell you what, that guy is a good football player. He’s big, he’s fast, he's smart. He’s been great in the classroom.  You talk about a guy coming over from another team and catching on. From Day One, he knew what was going on just from sitting in the classroom and taking notes. He’s an impressive guy."

I really hope this is true that he has gotten his act together and he realizes this is his last chance.  The guy has great skills and instincts.  I can't wait to see him play on Thursday.

They have been working Brooks at FS.

Not really an if... His suspension ends week 7. He's never got multiple offenses in one season.

He could easily get suspended for something in those upcoming weeks. A player can say everything is in the past, but until we actually see that he's a only a hope for us.

Dean Pees' quote fits the Will (known to his family as Binky) Hill I saw play every down in high school.  Hill's basically an intelligent and even shy young guy who dealt with pressures by using weed and this has already cost him and his family millions of dollars. It led him to hang around in the wrong places and with the wrong people who consciously or unconsciously aimed to bring him down.  I pray he sees the light and finally exorcises any  tiny demons that have led to his poor judgment and self destructive and irresponsible youthful behavior.  Hill is not and never has been a thug and his bad reputation really far exceeds his sins.  In any event, this may very well be Hill's last chance to show the world what he's made of and how he can overcome.  For a saint is just a sinner who fell down, but got up again, and not just once.  If Will takes responsibility for his life and thus does best by his kids and himself by becoming his own man not dependent on any drugs or temporary salves, he'll finally get to prove that he is a perennial all pro talent with the character that can overcome.  Now that would be a great story and his Prep family would love to see him show it. God gave Will a gift and we all pray that he not only doesn;t waste it, but takes it to even greater heights by hard work, perseverance, manning up, and playing for the sheer fun of it.  Despite the naysayers and people who pile on, Will should know he has far more people who love him, have faith in him and pray for him daily.
