I'm still concerned about the secondary. We should've signed Flowers

He was free to sign wherever he wanted

And he said he wanted to stay on the afcw to go after kc.

Webb and Jimmy both have injury history, ESPECIALLY Webb. Counting on both of them being 100% healthy is a pipe dream honestly.

Jimmy did it last year and Webb has done it before. One will be healthy and Asa as the slot showed promise(the niners WRs aren't a joke).

I'm wondering if there's any team willing to give up a quality CB, still. Quality CBs are hard to come by, especially in this age of the NFL. There's not much incentive to move a guy unless you get great value in return, which we aren't likely to do.

Harbs/Ozzie putting all their eggs in one basket instead of addressing depth concerns will bite us again. Last year they assumed Tandon Doss would magically work out (NOPE). This year they did it with Chykie Brown (NOPE).

To be fair, Brown had probably fallen to fourth in the depth chart prior to tonight (behind Webb, Smith, Jackson), which is probably where he belongs, so it's not really Harbs/Ozzies fault that suddenly he's the best active corner on our roster.

Flower was not going to come here and be our number 3 cornerback. He signed a one year deal with The chargers for a reason . He has a chance to  not only play for a  playoff team but to show to the world that he can still be great a  cornerback also get a chance to cash in on a  nice contract after this year.

They won't. Unless we give up a Ngata. And after seeing our Run defense sad to say we need him.

That plus the versatility of brooks

I thought Brooks played a heck of a ballgame. Laid out some very nice hits and his coverage wasn't that bad. Just cuz he was drafted as FS doesn't mean that's what he's gonna play in the NFL.

Both played in all 16 games last year

Man.....this secondary......I have no idea how we go into the season with that. We are in sooooo much trouble. I'm dumbfounded as what to do.

There will be salvageable corners cut

That if our pass rush steps up will save them

After the way Deonte returned the ball tonight, you have to wonder if some team might be willing to swap a number three corner for him. We already have jacoby for returns and were going to have a lot of hard decisions with our surprising amount of depth at WR.

Both played in all 16 games last year

Overreacting galore! Both will probably be ready for the regular season.

It's like golf. Best to get all the crappy shots out on the driving range. Best to get all the quirks out in preseason

Tarwick had a great int and just missed a second one.

Next game, I'm all for sitting Elam, Stewart, and of course Jimmy. We know they are the starters. Let them sit and evaluate the rest. It's our only opportunity for these guys to get extended reps against a 1st team offense. Let Brown, Franks, and Jacobs handle CB. Give Brooks, Trawick, Levine, and Miles S and CB reps and see if anyone stands out. I've seen some things I like from some of these guys but it's hard to get a read when they are facing 2nd and 3rd team defenses. Throw them into the fire and see what we have.

He played a bit on the 3rd team D, but didn't do anything of note.

Haha it's called an opinion dude. Obviously I know Ozzie picked him because he liked him and didn't think he'd be there next round, but I don't have to agree with everything he does. Yes Oz is clearly way more qualified than anyone on here and I am fully aware teams have more info than fans I'm not an idiot, but this is an online forum. People are allowed to form an opinion on here... that's the point of the boards. Why do you think there's a draft section on here that that a bunch of members go on?

What am I basing this off of?? Really? It's called watching the players game and scouting them. I'm not some pro scout nor am I pretending to be, I just find it fun to watch players and form opinions about their game. I really don't see anything wrong with that

You are absolutely right and you are entitled to your opinion. Why are you making this into a " this is a forum we all have an opinion" when it was quite obvious what I was saying. He hasn't even played a single down yet in the regular season, that is a fact. I'm also saying that it's a fact that you do not know when or where he have went so it's way to early to even be having such an opinion. If he turns into a quality player (which I'm  not saying he will) where he was drafted would be irrelevant.

I have no problems with you saying you don't like the pick. I just find it funny you think you can form  a conclusion so quickly on where you think he should/would have went. I'm sure you didn't watch him too much during his time there up to the draft.

Curious about the WR and what we do there.

The top 4 are obvious locks, and then we have 1-2 spots for Campanaro, Aiken, Butler, and Thompson. Thompson stood out as a returner but not as a WR. Butler had one nice, tough catch. Neither Campanaro or Aiken did much tonight. How do we end up picking 1-2 of these guys if no one separates?

As good as Deonte was on KRs last night, I don't think that's enough to make the roster. Those last 2 spots are going to have to offer something as a WR and be good on kick coverage to make the team. I think the decision comes down to Akien or Thompson. Campanaro takes the other spot if he's not IRed. I know he hasn't shown much in PS, but he offers a lot more than a guy like Deonte. We already have a pro bowl return guy and a couple of other guys with experience in Camp and Forsett.

I still say we need another corner. We all saw Jimmy get banged up last night, not that he's an injury prone player but stuff happens in games and the next thing you know Dominique Franks is being asked to cover Dez Bryant 1 on 1. Webb, Jimmy, and Asa are all banged up right now, they would probably play if it were the regular season but it still puts a spotlight on our lack of depth at cb.

It's a cliche at this point but "It's a passing league now". The Pats and Broncos stocked up on cb's, they have quality all the way up and down at the corner position and I think that's the way to go in this day and age. I think our quality is on point at LB and S but I'm still very concerned about our corner depth and it coming back to bite us once the season starts.

Graham, Cary, Josh Wilson, Gorrer.. man how I wish we still had one of those guys on the roster right now. Cary got over paid by Philly but I really wish we still had one of the other 3. If we're serious about competing with the best teams in the NFL this year I would feel a lot better if we had another mid tier corner.

Agreed. We defiantly need to look to add another quality corner. If anything were to happen to Jimmy or Webb or even Asa, were would be in terrible shape. We can't get by with what we have. I'd look to NE or Denver for a trade. Denver might be in the market for a FR after losing Trendon Holliday to FA.

But man, I wish we still had Carry. He was demonized on these boards by fans who don't understand coverages. Just about ever big play Carry gave up was a result of Mr. Ed Reed gambling, and being wrong. Carry was usually in the right spot, Ed was the one blowing his assignment. And Ed is one of my favorite players of all time.

Passing on dennard may hunt us. Wanted him at the time, still do.

I wasn't the biggest fan of him, but I could have lived with the pick for sure

IMO we didn't miss a beat losing Cary, and he cries a lot.  Corey is the one that I wish we could have found a way to keep. He's a football player.

Oz is on the lookout. If there is someone worth picking up he will do it.

Could have lived with it as well, but when you have a pair of starters in Webb and Smith, it would have been hard to pass on Mosley for a 3rd CB.

I didn't take down numbers or anything, but I've been paying attention to nickel vs. base in the first 2 games and we're definitely running much more nickel than we are base.

Exactly. It would have been silly to pass on Mosley who looks to be an immediate impact, high level player.
