Ravens getting a ton of love in this article, even from dameshek. Bold prediction time.

solid article and i dont generally buy into so much speculation this early, but all the points about the ravens are truthful. the fact that dave dameshek seems to be the only person in the entire football world who acknowledges the ridiculously unfair circumstances joe was forced to play under, puts him up a notch or 2 in my book.

for a while i thought it would be another rebuilding year, and yes i know its too early for predictions, but im feeling real good about this season, and for analysts to finally acknowledge that we have had jokes for offensive coordinators, which isnt the case anymore, and that we have improved drastically across the board, mostly due to being healthy, it brings a little optimism, although i would prefer for everyone to keep doubting us :D

i am going to make bold predictions like 4 of the analysts in this article, but i am going to take it a step further... i think the ravens return to the super bowl this season, barring any major injuries, i dont see a team that is battle tested and well rounded enough to compete with us in the clutch.

i dont buy the hype about denver, its super bowl or bust for them and peyton simply cannot thrive under that kind of pressure, our competition is the steelers, and if we can top them, the NFL better watch out, after that, the only team i see that can stop us is SF or SEA in the super bowl.

ill say again its too early for this kind of talk, but this is how good im feeling about this season, kubiak, pitta, and steve smith will transform us into a top 10 offense, and joe is going to be our man in crunchtime. this young revamped defense will wreak havoc, elam will shine and give OC's headaches every week, sizzle and doom will put one together for a whole season, nobody will have success against our pass defense, our top cbs are simply too good of a tandem, we have too much versatility, our DL alone is a run stuffing machine and with mosley and elam in the box and upshaw on the edge you can forget about running on us, daryl smith and arthur brown is a rare tandem of ILBs who can cover the intermediate zones as well as any SS(brown is unproven as a 3 down LB but nobody can deny how well he did in coverage last year)

this roster is just too fast, too athletic, too well rounded, too well coached, to be outplayed, and we have just the right amount of leadership, and just the right amount of a mean streak, and i think this team is hungry, we are now completely out of the shadows of ray and ed, boldin is an afterthought, and we are now in a new era, and this totally different team has something to prove now that the legends are gone, they wanna start their own legacy.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Key additions: WR Steve Smith adds swagger to an offense that was up and down in 2013. The veteran will keep the heat off Torrey Smith, who drew double coverage with the loss of Anquan Boldin.

Biggest loss: With OT Michael Oher no longer protecting quarterback Joe Flacco's blind side, the Ravens could be challenged in the passing game, especially if troubled running back Ray Rice can't put the offense in workable third-down situations.

Biggest camp battle: OT Rick Wagner has been penciled in as the starter at right tackle, but Jah Reid and Ryan Jensen are expected to push him during training camp. It's one of the few unsettled positions on a revamped roster

lol that RT talk is gold. michael oher was nearly as much of a weak link as our C and RG, and i sincerely think we couldnt do much worse at RT than oher last year, wagner would have to actually TRY to fail at RT for him to be a downgrade from ohers performance last year.

oher hasnt always been that bad at RT, and i will acknowledge that, but his performance last year was slow and lazy and effortless, its almost like he wanted out of baltimore and didnt wanna be tempted with a big contract offer from us.

It's a trap Dameshek has nothing good to say about the Ravens. He is a Steelers lifer

I totally agree with what you say. Don't be fooled by his talk. He gets a disgusted look on his face whenever Flacco is mentioned, and now he's suddenly changing his tune? I don't believe any of it one bit.

I loved his comment about "the occasionally elite" Flacco. Lol!
