Any longtime Washington, DC baseball fans with an axe to grind can look up Calvin Griffith's gravesite in Fort Lincoln Cemetary in Washington, DC and do the same thing to his grave.  He moved the first incarnation of the Senators to Minnesota to become the Twins and DC got an replacement expansion team that moved to Texas in 1971  Griffith is well know for giving an interwiew to an Elks Lodge in the Minnesota area where he was asked why he moved in 1961. Calvin said "Blacks don't go to baseball games, they'll fill up a wresting ring."   He made another racist comment to a reporter.  Before anyone in Baltimore rubs it in that they lost two team, you can the same thing that they lost two versions of the Colts, the Green and Silver team that was part of the AAFC and merged into the NFL in the late 40s with Niners and Browns.  Three years later the bankrupt Dallas Texans move to Charm City to the become the new Colts that lasted till that night in 1984.   The reason that people didn't go to baseball games in the Nation's Capital back then was there wasn't much to root for back then, unlike now where the Nationals are outdrawing the Orioles.

That's what I love about Steve Bisciotti. He basically seems like a fan who did the same thing I'd do with that kind of money. Hopefully he doesn't intervene too often on football decisions - that route leads to "keeping up with the Joneses" (or one Jones in particular).

I used to have some sympathy for them. Then the campaign to keep Modell out of the HoF and their constant whining cured me of that disease. They just have no idea at all - the NFL bent over backwards to make sure they got a team quickly, kept their colors, kept their name and all their football history. The same NFL is STILL trying to eliminate the Baltimore Colts completely - even into our HOF players - changing it to the Indy Colts, as if we never existed.

 

I hope they never have another winning season.

Relevant maybe-- for this site NO.Let me direct you to Boad Basic # 2. 2. Absolutely no profanity or obscene, vulgar, violent or threatening language, photos or videos.

The guy has his pants down "allegedly" taking the a deuce on a mans grave runs the gamut from mild funny to obscene and vulgar depending on who you are, and no matter what is a direct violation of a rule.

 

Not sure urinating privately on a grave site is an infraction at all.  It's not Indecent Exposure because no one was present to be offended. 

 

Its not Disorderly Conduct because once again there was no one to feel threatened or be intimidated. 

 

It's not Criminal Mischief because no property was destroyed or damaged.

 

Once a person dies in many respects their legal interests cease, all that remains are property disposition issues.  The State takes possession of the body to conduct autopsies, many times against the wishes of families.  Things change with death.

 

Was it offensive? Maybe. But what is was more than anything was a rabid fan still upset with the man that moved his team making a statement.

 

The State may work hard to make it's own statement.  In over-reaching they may gerrymander some kind of charge, the validity of which will be immediately contestable.

 

He's an empathetic figure of sorts. He's "Too Brown". One has to respect that.
