8 NFL Teams Favored to Win the Super Bowl in 2015

Not surprised honestly. Also there is no way in hell the Packers should be higher than the Saints

This. The saints are going to be the best team in the NFC. Adding Byrd was a monster addition, and Cooks is a perfect fit. Losing Sproles sucks though

Yeah I agree for the most part, however I still think the Seahawks are the best team. No way a team like the Packers who have a pretty mediocre defense will be better than the Saints.

Packers defense is young and they've added Peppers. If Datone Jones breaks out I can see them doing it.

Seattle will suffer the SB curse. It's inevitable

Bored so I'll give this a go before reading article.

My favorites:

Ravens: Who else would I put #1. I'm an extremely optimistic, homerly fan. We're a good enough team to get there, once that happens, who knows. Last year losing didn't as much, but now I'm ready for us to get back in the dance again.

Broncos: I see Peyton going out on top. They went all in and added some really good pieces. They're the juggernauts of the NFL, IMO. As much as I can't stand them...

49ers: Consistently one of the best teams in the NFL. Filled with youth and expierence I think they're ready to win. I have them winning the toughest division in football.

Packers: Deep, deep roster. I believe in what they did to fix their defense this offseason. If they stay healthy they're one of the most dangerous teams in the league. Offense speaks for itself.

Saints: As for the comments above, I also believe the Packers should be favored over the saints. I think they have an all around better roster and is more battled tested playing in the tundra 8 times a year, rather than a dome. Saints gained some great pieces but lost their fair share as well. Their defense should be legit(especially secondary) but I'll take Packers over Saints in a head to head. Close though.

Seahawks: Why so low? Because as we found out last year, it's ridiculously hard to repeat. History doesn't dictate this, but it shows us how hard it's been to get back to the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl. They lost a lot of that great depth and role players. I think offensively, they'll struggle. Defense won't be as dominant... Mark on their back in a tough division make it hard for me to believe in the dynasty talk. That said, they're still one of the best teams.

Patriots: Defense should be legitimate. Brady will always make them contenders. If Gronk is heathy, they'll definitely be lethal. Not the offensive team they were a couple years ago but they've made that up on defense and Brady is one of the greatest at managing games and controlling the tempo.

Colts: Offense has so many young weapons ready to break out...(Also Wayne & Nicks) Luck is great. Defense should be improved.

If we are arguing Packers Saints, I say Saints. I like their defense more and while Green Bay has a slightly better offense, Brees is as close a lock as there is to throwing for 5,000 yards and they have some really nice weapons. That offense should still be really good. One thing that concerns me with Green Bay and San Francisco is the Center position as well.

I might as well break down the Ravens as well. I think the offense is in good but not great shape. It is solid all around but it will depend on how quickly the players learn the new system and the pieces mesh together. If Flacco bounces back this unit should be good although I question the run game. OL should be a lot better.

In terms of defense, I see a unit in transition. There is a lot of new talent and a lot of older vets. As the season progresses we could see a changing of the guards of sorts on that side of the ball. There are a lot of question marks specifically at DE, CB #3, and FS. If all the pieces fit perfectly this will be a good unit but will they?

Overall I see us as a playoff team but I don't think we stack up to the elite teams quite yet. I like the direction we are going however and the future looks bright. Just depends on how quickly the guys develop.

People on this very forum proclaimed the 12-13 season was over (multiple times throughout the season) then we bounced back and won the Super Bowl.

I'm not crowning Paper Champions, I'm crowning us to win it all again.

It's weird how people talk about the "dreaded Super Bowl hangover" but then on lists like this the #1 favorite to win the SB again is usually the defending champ (the Ravens were about the only team in the last 5 years that they didn't do this with). It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Well, to me that was because we lost so many key players after our Super Bowl win that it was easy to see that we would not bounce back and repeat as Champions.  Then, the offensive injuries came and the dreadful o-line and atrocious offense.  Ugh!  So, cats not picking us to win back to back made a lot of sense actually!  Even now, the Ravens are having a difficult time shaking off the stigma of last season.  Only one way to do it....WIN!!!

My predictions

AFC

#1 Seed - New England Patriots - Year in and Year out the team gets it done. With a defense that could threaten the best in the nfl, they should have no problem taking on anyone. Expect the Patriots to impose their will in the run game and keep games low scoring with a good defense

#2 - Denver Broncos - Denver is the team they were 2 years ago with Dumervil. Still a threat, but not better than NE.

#3 - Baltimore Ravens - We reclaim the division title this year.

#4 - Indianapolis Colts - No competition for them in the South.

#5 - San Diego Chargers - This team got its secondary in order, will get back players from injury and will once again flourish under Mike McCoy.

#6 - Pittsburgh - The Steelers quietly put together a solid offseason. If a few player return and get healthy, they will once again be a playoff team.

NFC

#1 seed - New Orleans Saints - This team arguably improved in every single facet. Expect Big Plays

#2 seed - Seattle Seahawks - The loss of Bowman and a weak secondary make this division too hard for the Niners to win. Additionally Seattle will get a full year (knock on wood) out of Percy Harvin and retains a super bowl winning cast.

#3 seed - Green Bay Packers - A healthy Aaron Rodgers, a strong power running game means bad things for the NFC North.

#4 seed - Washington Redskins - The Giants are the best team on paper in that division and by looking at the rosters I would choose them to win. However, the schedule shows us that the Washington Redskins play the Cowboys week 17 so GG.

#5 seed - San Francisco 49ers - The Niners will have to fight for each and every game this year which is a testament to the strength of their division more than their decline.

#6 - Chicago Bears - The team I wanted to put here to debate is Arizona but their schedule makes it very difficult for them to get enough wins to surpass the Bears. The Falcons, also considered for a bounce back, still have no offensive line or running game. The Bears shored up their run defense and secondary this season so it should be enough to vault them into the playoffs.

Yeah, wasn't it a record number of starters not to return after A Super Bowl win? 8 IIRC. No other team had more than 5 I think.

Ray,Ed,Boldin,Birk,Kruger,Ellerbe,Cary and Pollard. (Almost said Leach. Completely forgot he was with us last season lol).... That's a ton of major changes I don't think any team could over come. Also losing Pitta & K.O for long stretches didn't help at all. Jacoby too but that's the game.

I was foolish to believe our rookies would fill in immediately and our young receivers would step up. I was most foolish in believing that Gino could hold his own...But our horrible roster almost got us in the playoffs once again. I think we could've made it had Pitta never gotten hurt but who knows.

Yep!  We lost way too many players to even think that we would have repeated.

I highly doubt the Aints will be the best team in the NFC... Both SF and Sea are better and Arizona is right on the heels... I also see Atl bouncing back

Our team got picked apart.  Seahawks remained practically the same.  Then the Packers...they won with half their team missing from injuries.  We really didn't get any less respect then the Giants did after they won.

No, cause I'm a ravens fan and don't think we'll win it all

Lol, really?  We have a decent amount of question marks, but personnel wise we have one of the best teams in years.  Elam, Stewart, Wagner, Zuttah, Rice/Pierce .  This is where are issues lie and as it looks right now, almost all these spots will be pretty darn good.  I think we have a good chance of making it back to the Super Bowl.

But, at the same time, the Packers have done diddly squat in the playoffs since then... okay, Green Bay beat a Job Webb-QB'd Vikings team. However, the point remains: Between getting embarrassingly upset by the Giants and, later, out-coached (to put it bluntly) by the 49ers these past 2 postseasons, I think the Packers have blown a lot of opportunities in recent years.

Was their '10-'11 Super Bowl run for real? Or, did they manage to just strike "lighting-in-a-bottle" at the right time? This season will tell a lot about the Packers franchise and the direction they're going, I believe...

Regardless, they are not a team I would count out.  As long as they have Rodgers they will be in Super Bowl discussions end of story.
