I think this team is easily the most improved. Pretty much an expansion job. Not sure if that much change would be successful right away but it wound compete for a long time.

Yeah getting the chemistry down early will be interesting but the talent is there for a bright future with this team.

QB: Congrats, you were able to get Bridgewater

RB: Forte is a really good back and I like Robinson's potential as well

WR: Shorts is good, Colston is good, Sanders is pretty good. Overall it is a good group

TE: Funny how you have the Ravens TEs of the future here, can't really talk badly about them lol

O-line: Overall I really like the line, my one concern is injuries with Beatty and Okung but I like the inside

D-line: Melton is a risk coming off injury but overall it is a really solid front here

LB: I like Greene at WILL and Bradford has some nice potential at SAM, my concern is in the middle. This is probably the Achilles heel of your team

CB: Solid deep group of corners here, I like the secondary

S: Cyprien and Bucannon are certainly an intimidating tandem, I am guessing you like Cyprien at FS for the Jags

Long-snapperYou can keep people guessing with your 3 Long-snappers, I expect you to put them to good use.

Overall it is a really solid team. This team will probably go as far as Bridgewater can take them and I would imagine this team could compete for the playoffs. I don't know if they would make too much noise there, that depends on Bridgewater, but this is certainly a strong candidate for most improved. You have done a very good job with this team so congrats Crush.

Thanks for putting these together, I always enjoy reading them and seeing other people's opinions.

I feel like you nailed my team here.  An overall solid group with the only real weakness at LB.  As you know I tried to improve it, but Russell Allen retiring late really hurt/surprised me and Free Agent stole Lance Briggs away from me with less than 1 minute left in FFA.  I think I can compete for the playoffs with this team (looking at it, the AFC South seems like a weaker division IMO).  I will go as far as Teddy goes, but I have tons of confidence in him.  Personally––may be a bit biased––I think I have the most improved team.

Thanks.  Only real option was to blow up the roster.

Yeah I think you clearly take the title of most improved, but that's not too difficult to do when the team starts with pretty much nothing.  Regardless of that, I like what you did a lot.  I'm not sure it's a team that's going to pay immediate dividends, but I think they have a bright future.  As I learned with my turnover with the Browns, it's pretty much impossible to solidify every single position in such a large turnover.  I think the telling sign for teams like yours and mine would be what can be added next year to fix the holes that were left over and just not possible to be filled.

Thanks.  You make a lot of good points here.  For me, I would be looking at a guard, defensive tackle and linebackers as my main positions to improve.

Yeah considering the Jags were so bad last year you are probably the most improved on paper. Great job with it all

And just so you're aware, the "that's not too difficult to do" wasn't a slight on you, rather the Jags organization before this year lol.

But yeah, overall, I think you solved many more issues than you left open.  That's a success in my book.

SS: Dawan Landry Josh Bush

Special Teams

K: Nick Folk Chandler Catanzaro
KR: Jeremy Kerley
P: Tom Hornsey
PR: Tandon Doss

Roster Total: 61

Red = FA/Trade
Blue = Draft Picks
Green = UDFA

QB: I am not entirely sold on Geno but he is young and deserves another year. You also have Kyle Williams too, he is a guy who is going to be really popular around here ;)

RB: I really like this group. Blount with Ivory and Mason can really wear the opponent's defense down.

WR: I think this is a better group than last year by a good amount. Holmes, Maclin, and Kerley are all decent and now you can have a guy like Hill develop without pushing him too much.

TE: Yeah Ebron was needed for the Jets, that receiving core in total is a lot better.

O-line: I really like this group as well, solid throughout with the exception of Kuper who has retired

D-line: Yeah this group is stacked, just have to hope Wilfork is healthy but Ellis isn't bad either at NT.

OLB: Coples and Abraham is a good group, Abraham did a really good job with Arizona last year, just have to hope that keeps up

ILB: Decent group here, nothing special but okay

CB: I think Milliner will be better but I am not sold on McGill starting and I don't care for the depth in this group

S: Landry is okay but I don't know if starting Boston this early is a good idea

Overall I think this team is pretty good. I think the offense is improved and while I am not a fan of Geno Smith, he has the tools to prove himself one way or another in this situation and I think that is a good strategy with him. As for defense, I like the D-line, Milliner, and OLB is solid. I feel the secondary could be a problem for this team however with the inexperience. That is something that really needs to be improved before they make much noise. I do like the offense a lot better however and Geno will get the opportunity to show what he has.

Yep I'm pretty thankful for that right about now.  I would've pulled the trigger had he fallen to my first pick in the 3rd round.

Special Teams:

TOTAL PLAYERS: 90 (+1 on PUP/IR)

BROWN = Trade Acquisition

BOLD = Free Agent Signing

ORANGE = Draft Pick/UDFA

QB: Not a strong position but it looks like Hoyer at least will work out, a bit of an unknown here

RB: Murray helps... when healthy, I like Sims and Richardson as well

WR: Oh if only Josh Gordon wasn't a knucklehead... You still have Marshall and Roberts and Avery aren't too bad. That Marshall trade looks really good right now however

TE: Celek and Cameron is a good group, I like it

O-line: If only Brandon Thomas didn't get injured. Still a good group however, should be solid

D-line: Congrats, you got Clowney, Houston is good as well and maybe Kruger gets better. Taylor is good as well although a little more depth here wouldn't hurt.

LB: Overall a decent group, has some nice potential and the depth is good

CB: Talib and Haden is a sweet tandem, I really like this group

S: Ward is good and Jenkins is decent, not too bad here either.

Overall this is a solid team. I like most of the positions overall but this team definitely got hit with some bad luck in Gordon and Thomas. I still think this team should do well as it has a good defense and a good enough offense but it could have been even better. Either way this team is certainly improved overall and could definitely contend for the playoffs depending on how well Hoyer does. From what the Browns were before, I would have to call this off season a success.

I'll do my own rundown to respond..

QB:  I agree, but there wasn't too much I could do about it.  Teddy was pretty much the only franchise QB available and I couldn't outdo Crush to get him.  Hoyer should be serviceable and then I have 2 guys that could be starters down the line.

RB:  Again, agreed.  I love my group here if I do say so myself.  Murray obviously has the injury concerns but I think I have enough options if he was to get hurt.

WR:  Losing Gordon definitely hurts, but it always helps when I still have Marshall.  Obviously I couldn't invest too much into WR, but I think my other options should be serviceable enough.

TE:  No comments really.  I think I got the blocker in Celek and pass catcher in Cameron.

OL:  This was a whirlwind once Thomas got hurt.  It happened too late to really solve the issue.  I had Wade Smith but traded him because I saw depth in FFA, but that was before Thomas got hurt.  I also probably wouldn't have drafted Henderson, but again, that was before I knew about Thomas.  I did what I could and I think sandwiching Pinkston in between 2 stars should alleviate some issues he has.

DL:  Really the only spot I disagree.  Kruger actually got quite a bit of pressure last year even though sack numbers didn't show.  I happen to like my depth too, especially at DE.

LB:  I agree on LB.  Nothing special, but some young talent combined with a whole bunch of guys that play different roles.  I'd rotate heavily based on the situation here.

CB:  Another position I agree with the assessment on.  I wanted a physical presence opposite Haden and Skrine should be much better in his natural slot role.  I ended up with a ton of depth here since some of my UDFAs were drafted too.

S:  Jenkins is the biggest question mark, but Gipson is another solid option to slide in if Jenkins solid year was an anomaly.

I did what I could.  If this continued to next year, I'd prioritize finding a franchise QB, getting another WR depending on the status of Gordon, getting an impact LB, and fixing the pesky OL issue that I had since it was too late to really do much.

Yeah you were unlucky on the O-line but overall it should be good. Pinkston has good guys(to say the least) on both sides to cover him up and the right side looks good.

Yeah I like your DE depth, especially considering the fact that Houston can play DE as well, I was more referencing DT. It is a good group but that one extra guy to rotate around could have made it even better. More a nitpick than anything else.

I really like what you have overall, the biggest question mark is at QB but Hoyer looks to be the starter so we will see what he does for the actual Browns. Overall you did about as good a job as you could but got a bit unlucky. Otherwise you would be pretty close to Crush in terms of most improved and still aren't too far off.

Yeah I had more unlucky situations than anything. Overall I like what I did though. There were a few things I'd change if I could do it over again, but for the most part, I accomplished what I set out to do. It's obviously not perfect, but I think I could patch up some of my holes with another offseason.

I'm a Mettenberger fan as well.  It unfortunately looks like an overdraft at this point, but I also wasn't aware of his failed drug test at the time I picked him being that didn't come out until late in the game.  There's not too much holding him back in Tennessee either.

I got Clowney so I'm more than happy with that lol.  I wasn't even going to go for a QB but at the end of FA, I felt I filled some positions that I didn't think I would, so I was open to making a move for one.  You just had the driving seat for that pick.

Having the 3rd and 19th overall picks helped a lot.  Nobody could top that.
