Horrible non-call. Wash St, hell of a game.

Yeah sad a call like that determines the game as well, WSU did play one heck of a game though.

Maybe Oregon puts their backup Center in now lol

Yeah that would be the matchup people have wanted for years lol

Watch the Oregon State tape from last year where he spent a lot of time on Cooks, that was a pretty good battle.

Yeah not a fan of that no call but if WSU can get a stop they have a chance. Oregon has been on a roll on offense though so it will be interesting to see if they go conservative or not

Do you mean the 2012 game? That's the only one I could find (there's probably the full game out there on YouTube, but I'm feeling too lazy atm). I thought Cooks got the better of that matchup fairly comfortably, and even Wheaton had him bite on a couple of moves. That said, I can definitely see the playmaking upside people seem to like - he's fluid and he reads the QB well. He'll frustrate a lot of fans of whoever drafts him though. :P

Devon Allen! I went to high school and ran track with that guy. Insanely fast

He was really impressive last night. Definitely on the radar. Too bad he's a freshman.

Yeah I will let tonight slip a bit as he has impressed me other times but he needs to improve here.

Also big drive there from Oregon, now to see if WSU can respond

The thing about Ifo is that he is listed as 5'10". That's short and hopefully they weren't generous with that listing as well, because if he''s 5'9" that will be a problem.

I can't find the 2013 game but it was a pretty even battle between them there. I will say one thing that is underrated with him is his support in the run game, he was able to bring Langford down a few times against MSU. I don't know where the one tape went then since I can't find it under Cooks either, it was a pretty entertaining game as well.

It depends on the explosiveness IMO, I don't think you would put him on a Calvin Johnson or AJ Green but Jimmy Smith would be that guy for us and I don't think we need that guy anyways right now. I am also going off the assumption that we are drafting later in the first and if his height causes him to fall to us, I wouldn't mind getting him. But still I need to see him the rest of the season and then at the senior bowl and then the combine so we have time to figure out his value.

His MSU game looked a lot better in his tackling technique alone. I think he'd be a nice fit here with all the zone coverage we play, and with his willingness against the run as you say. Size could be a problem and I'd love another version of Jimmy if we can find one (two guys you can put on an island and let our LBs and safeties do their thing? Hell yeah!), but if the draft were tomorrow I wouldn't try to burn Ozzie's office down if we took him.

I would love to find another Jimmy, I guess it just depends on where we are drafting but usually those guys go pretty high overall so I don't know if we would be in position to get a guy like that. Jimmy himself wouldn't have been available if not for off the field questions. Ifo with his height concerns, I could see a guy like him slip down a bit kinda like Verrett did this year. I like a lot of the guys who are going to be in this draft though so I am not saying get him but if he is there I think he could be an option for us.

Yeah, that's true. Ifo's definitely an option, could be a long-term Webb replacement at the very least. Depends who's there I guess (at this rate I like PJ Williams but I need to go out and watch a lot more of him and others).

I need to look into a lot of the guys, I do like Darby from FSU as well though but I need to see some of him. Big fan of Fuller whenever he comes out but I may be a bit biased there lol

Not unreasonable from what I've seen. I have a soft spot for DBs who play with good technique. Give me substance over flash any day.

Yeah getting off blocks and tackling in the running game are really underrated assets from CBs nowadays

Okay time for my 4 playoff teams this week and some other teams that still have a good shot of making it.

In:

Florida State: There are concerns with their O-line and the defense doesn't appear quite as dominant but it still is impressive when you can beat a talented team like Clemson without your heisman winner at QB. This NC State game could be interesting however as NC State is undefeated and if you remember a couple years ago gave FSU their first loss. Granted NC State hasn't played anyone really that good yet but this is a game to watch as a possible let down for FSU.

Oregon: A close game against Washington State this week but I don't see it as cause enough to move them down quite yet as Oregon was apparently missing a lot of their O-line. They have a bye this week but should have a fun game Thursday night next week against a talented Arizona team.

Texas A&M: I am still keeping them in here for now although it is starting to become a bit closer as some other SEC teams are starting to make a case for themselves who I will get to later. A&M will take a step up in opponents this week going against Arkansas and it should be interesting to see if A&M overlooks them a bit due to them playing Mississippi State next week.

Oklahoma: They get a bye this week after a big win at West Virginia before they go play TCU so not really much to say here. I will say they did about as well against West Virginia as Alabama did and played them in West Virginia as opposed to a neutral site so I do think they have the talent(that and a certain bowl win last year ;) )

Out for now:

Alabama: Going into a bye, they should be tested next week against Ole Miss and will get into the tougher part of their schedule.

Baylor: Coming off of a bye last week, they play an Iowa State team also coming off of a bye who is better than their record says.

Mississippi State: Going into Death Valley and beating a very talented LSU team the way they did deserves a nice jump up the rankings. They get the week off to prepare for Texas A&M in what is shaping up to be a big game at home.

Auburn: They definitely got tested and probably outplayed against Kansas State on the road but finding a way to get the win in that situation deserves more praise than it is going to get. They get a bye this week to prepare for an LSU team eager to prove they are still in it.

UCLA: Big game for UCLA tonight against Arizona State in what could decide the PAC 12 South. Health of Hundley here is going to be key.

Notre Dame: Coming off of a bye this past week and play Syracuse on the road although a game against Stanford next week could be big for them.

Michigan State: Still doing their thing demolishing Eastern Michigan although a game against a Wyoming team at home could be an interesting one.

Georgia: An interesting game against Tennessee, Georgia needs a big win here to get back higher in the rankings here but they have the chance to get higher if they can get some wins.

Games to watch:

Similar to last week, the games all over are going to be closer but there aren't as many huge games this week as there were earlier in the year or what we will get later in the year. Still a couple to keep track of however.

UCLA @ Arizona State: This game could very well decide the PAC 12 South. Sad that it gets the later TV slot tonight since a lot of people will miss it on the east but I will probably stay up and watch it anyways. Should be interesting as both starting QBs are dealing with injuries with Hundley questionable and Kelly already out for the game. Even if the QBs aren't ready to go however, this game is still going to be big in the PAC 12 South and a nice test for both teams.

Missouri @ South Carolina: I know Missouri just lost against Indiana of all teams but this game could go a long way in deciding the SEC East if Georgia stumbles. A win from either team here puts them in a much better situation to try to win the division. Missouri will try to come back after their loss and get some revenge for that heart breaker against South Carolina last year. Hopefully this game turns out at least half as entertaining as that one was.

Maryland hasn't been bad so far either so keep that head held high. Going to be an interesting game against Indiana but you guys seem like a bowl team to me at least.

Just glad to have the Terps  "out here"! The ACC  has really gone money ( name a Florida school!). I know all schools seem to be, but this was a good move for the Terps! By the way, thank you!

Big pick 6 there before the half

UCLA really turned it on his quarter, they were down 17-6 and are now up 27-17

Anyone else see that great return or am I in here myself again?

Sorry, I couldn't watch college football right now if I wanted to. I can get away with having a game running at work and watching a few plays at a time, but unless there's a similar online program to NFL Game Pass for CFB I can only watch when I have a day off - same story with this coming weekend sadly.

Feel free to keep the commentary coming though. I like to know how how certain things are shaking out (including how Jaelen Strong, Ty Montomgery and Stefon Diggs all look).

Haha yes

Figures lol, you guys have a tough game next week against Oregon but with the talent and offense you have it should be entertaining in Arizona, I will probably end up watching it as well even though these 10:00 games are going to kill me here in the east lol

All you really need to know is that this is the team a lot of people expected before the season started, Hundley looks good as well. October 11th can't get here fast enough right now
