Hey everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know who has Comcast and does not have the NFL network, that you can sign up for the NFL network for an additional $5.99 a month. Also with the NFL network you get a bunch of other sports channels that are similar to the NFL network but for other sports. The lady from Comcast that I got the deal with said that I could cancel the deal at anytime too. Its a great deal, and if you do not have Comcast, It would probably be something worth looking into for Saturday's game to see if your cable provider has something similar. Hopefully everyone gets to watch this game and root for the Ravens, it will be a good one.

GO RAVENS!

WOW! Inflation - We paid $1.99 per month when we originally signed up for the NFL network. Saturdays game is prime time and should be televised nationwide, I think

Last year, or the year before

I think its only televised locally. It better be, because I don't have the NFL Network. <_<
Sweet! I have comcast. and so then do i just ask for nfl network for 5.99 a month?

is that fine?
Yep, If you already have the box they will switch it on and have you up in less then 30 minutes. If you are new to the channel, they have replays of some of the weeks game. They shorten some of the boring parts too which makes it kinda nice.

Just a note, that $5.99 is for the sports tier, as the original poster pointed out -- not JUST the NFL Network.

Just wanted to make sure, so none of you get off-guard and wonder why you're paying 6 bucks extra for just ONE channel when it's really something like 12 or 13 channels for that price.

It includes national networks like NBA TV, MLB TV, NHL TV, ESPN Classic, as well as regional sports networks.

Not bad, but personally, when I was arguing with customer service to adjust our bill/service to selectively include ONLY the channels we wanted (long story), I was disappointed that we couldn't get JUST NFL Network for a reduced price.

Personally, I'm thinking about switching to Verizon FIOS because of issues with Comcast taking away or moving some of our channels in this area, but let's not get into all that...

The game will be televised nationally on the NFL Network, with a local simulcast for each team's home and secondary TV markets.

A companion webcast will be available on NFL.com, but it's strictly an in-studio broadcast with periodical live look-ins.

So, in short, YES, you should be able to see the game locally on WJZ-13 or channel 21 (whatever that is) if you're normally able to watch Ravens games.

Interest thread...when I'm back home I have Verizon FIOS. Over 100 HD channels and the sickiest TV guide I have ever seen. Down here in Hampton I have Cox Like 20 HD channels and a crappy guide.

Get FIOS you get DC and Baltimore channels. So even if you are closer to DC you get Ravens games.

Yeah dude, I only really need the NFL network, So it would be nice to just get that channel, but still $6 per a month is not that bad. From what my friends say even during the off season theres lots of cool stuff to watch, like games from the past season, a lot of draft/trade/free agent talk, and behind the scenes footage as well.

NFL Network was what completed my conversion into a hardcore football fan. The offseason programming was what sold me, from the NFL Films stuff, to the sheer depth of the content they talked about on NFL Total Access. It amazed me that there was so much going on in the offseason for them to talk about every night without the show ever getting boring.

It was my immersion in the NFL Network that taught me a lot of the football knowledge I didn't pick up from watching the games.

<_< No Comcast down here and no NFL Network. Hopefully they'll be showing the game on NFL.com so that I can at least have it running on the computer. Not sure if I can sit there for 3 and 1/2 hours w/o the wife giving me a fit.
Do you guys think the local feed will be in HD?
Probably, but I can't confirm it. Chances are, if the local affiliate will pick it up on the standard-def channel, then the HD channel should have it.

Especially since it's Saturday night, and there's no significant primetime shows (that I know of) that would preempt the game.

Anyone watching the Colts and Jaguars game? The Jaguars are already up 7 - 0 and are at the Colts 2 yard line. Hopefully the Jaguars can pull through and beat the Colts.

Edit: 14 - 0 Jaguars
