I wouldn't say miles. I'd like to see a stretch of play from him longer than 8 games where he is consistently shutting down WRs.

The biggest take away I have from this list is that the Ravens overall talent level isn't that great. After the first 12-13 it was kind of ugly.

I counted 12, if that counts for anything, by PFF stats. Would like to see that carry into this season

Splash plays and crucial times is an important piece to any championship team. Big players making big plays in big games.

Way too inconsistent

I'm not saying he's the number one wideout. But he is absolutely a key contributor.

Yes, he's huge. He's the reason the Ravens got to a Super Bowl because of some huge plays. However, if you take away his 10 splash plays a year, what is he? That's why he's not a top 10 to me

12 games in a row by PFF stats? What does that even mean? He has had his moments of excellent play, but he's also had poor games, even recently.

He had 12 games where he averaged like 3 targets per game and 2 receptions with less than 30 yards allowed per game. For that stretch, he'd have been top 5 for targets per coverage snap and yards per coverage snap. He fizzled off the last two games of the season.

Better?

#16...KO! Hope he bounces back, he has top 10 upside. But who ranked him 4th? That's absurd...

No. 16: Kelechi Osemele

Position: Guard

Total points: 109.

Highest ranking: No. 4. Lowest ranking: Not ranked.

What you need to know: Osemele is coming off back surgery, which sidelined him for the final nine games of 2013. He has fully recovered and is expected to start at left guard. A second-round pick, Osemele started every game during the Ravens' 2012 Super Bowl season as a rookie.

Where Osemele should be ranked: I had Osemele at No. 16 on my rankings, although I was tempted to place him higher. He's been among the most impressive players at offseason workouts, and he could be the key to upgrading this offensive line. It wouldn't surprise me if Osemele made the Pro Bowl at some point in his career.

File this away: In two seasons, the versatile Osemele has started 27 games (including playoffs), with 16 coming at right tackle and 11 at left guard.

What the Ravens are saying about Osemele: "He's back to his usual self, running around. He's one of the best conditioned guys on the field -- just grinding, trying to get better. We're having to slow him down a little bit because it's been a while since he's played." -- offensive tackle Eugene Monroe

Averaging over a 12 game stretch is a far cry from 12 games where he consistently shuts down the opposition. I hope you can see the difference.

Well to average that over a 12 game stretch, he'd have to be pretty dominant. Sure, there may have been games where he'd get targeted six or seven times with a reception or two given up for like 20 yards, but that's still not bad.

Plus, with 12 of 16 games, it's fairly difficult to skew the numbers that much in his favor. Sure, a much larger sample size over the course of seasons would be nice, but given a one season stretch, it's pretty good

I hope that clarifies

You have 2 bad games over a 12 game stretch that is good overall, and that doesn't equal consistency, but it still averages out to look good.

He's not at that upper echelon of corner yet. He's put together some good games, but he has to keep improving.

10 put of 12 good games is pretty consistent to me...

I never said he's an elite or top 5, but he's one of the better 32

I guess we have different definitions of consistent.

That's probably true. He's in the top 32 CBs in the league.

Well, you have to consider during the 12 game stretch I'm referring to, he didn't have a single bad game like the first or last one. I'm happy if he can play 13 or 14 good games a year. Would I love all 16? Sure, but some match ups are just harder than others.

I'd probably say in the 15-20 range if he has another year like last year

He was still graded negatively overall by PFF in coverage, and had just as many negative games as positive ones, so it's hard to say he is on the brink of being great. If he has another year like last, it will be good momentum, but he needs to get better.

Of course it's not realistic for him to be perfect in every single game, and there are lots of variable involved, but he is still making a lot of mistakes even in games that he has a good stat line.

He actually was top 20 and I believe top 15 up until the final two weeks. The final two were absolute killer for him.

I liked what I saw from him for the most part. On defense, he's literally the player I watch every single snap of. I cringe from seeing bad plays and kinda do the fist pump for the good ones. Sure, he could certainly improve, but with the NFL trending toward bigger receivers, the type Jimmy matches up very well with, I'm very excited for him next season

Clearly SOMEBODY is trolling those rankings. Jacoby comes in at #15. One guy had him ranked 3rd...

No. 15: Jacoby Jones

Position: Wide receiver-returner

Total points: 124.

Highest ranking: No. 3. Lowest ranking: Not ranked.

What you need to know: Jones is one of the top playmakers on the team, but his 2013 was derailed because of a knee injury. He missed four of the first five games last season after a teammate ran into him on a punt return. Jones finished fourth on the team with 37 receptions. He ranked fourth in the NFL on kickoff returns last season with a 28.8-yard average.

Where Jones should be ranked: Even though the Ravens will never get consistent production out of Jones as a receiver, he is the biggest game-changer on the team. When the ball was in his hands -- as a returner or receiver -- he impacted more games than any other Raven over the past two years. If it was a big win, Jones usually had a hand in it. That's why I had Jones at No. 10 on my rankings.

File this away: In two seasons with the Ravens, Jones has scored 10 touchdowns in 28 games. Since 2012, his 29.8-yard kickoff return average ranks third in the NFL and his four returns for touchdowns (three kickoff and one punt) is tied for the most in the league over that span.

What the Ravens are saying about Jones: "He's a quality receiver. He's a special teams player, but he's also a guy that can do the things that you need to do to move the chains when you need to move them. It's something that he's probably grown into over the last three or four years as a football player. Without question, we believe his best football is in front of him." -- coach John Harbaugh

I would not say the ranking is a joke. Is Jacoby a top 20 talent on our team? Probably not. Is he a top 20 playmaker on the team? I would say yes. In 2012-2013 he may have been the biggest playmaker/most influential player on the team.

Now where I disagree is that this was all the past. If this list is looking towards the future, I do not know if Jacoby will be as influential as some other impact players.

I would hope he is a top 20 playmaker on the team, considering that's his only job, to make big plays.

Return yards do not count as yards.

Lol wow. This whole thing is a joke huh.

Pretty much. I have a serious man crush on JJ, and I don't know that I'd put him in the top 20 players on the team. Well, he's top 20, but I cant see 15.....and sure as hell not 3

If return yards counted as stats Josh Cribbs at 12,755 return yards would be considered among the greats at WR lol. So to your point, an obvious one, return yards do not count as yards lol.

They don't count as receiving yards obviously, but they do count for return yards...
